Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
As a friend pointed out the other day, I've been doing this (working on this package) for over FIVE YEARS now. I am about to drop ANOTHER major update to it, that many people are in the dark on (except him now of course). As he also pointed out, I have not made a single PENNY of monetary compensation from it (my "work", or, as he says - "my efforts"). I did remind him that I am not the type to charge for "SOFT"ware, or demand people pay me for something like this, and I still don't (so don't worry the release update is still comin'), BUT I think he had a valid suggestion when he said I should at least accept donations. So beginning now I will be accepting donations from anyone who desires to do so, in whatever amount they desire to do so in. My work is and will always be free of charge, but if you feel I've done a good job, or really like my efforts over the last 5 years -- go ahead and send me whatever you desire to, to "show" it to me :):
If there's one thing I do know about life, is that there are all different types of financial situations (trust me I've almost been in them all from 'rich' to 'piss ass poor'). So while most people will probably download and not even think of 'donating' even $1, fine so be it. Maybe they really need that $1, I've been there. Though perhaps someone that isn't so bad off in the money department will be more generous than I'd ever expect, I don't expect anything. So whether I receive $1 or $100 or $1000, whether it's from an individual or collectively, that's fine by me. Though I do think my friend is right in that I should at least make it an available option for those who may want to contribute to my last five years working on this 'project'. So, if you do decide to donate ANY amount, know that I highly appreciate it, whatever amount it is.
Thanks,

Even the next update is going to be version specific, but that is also primarily due to the fact that I include a pack of ia32-libs (so even offline installs can be accomplished) that, when tested attempting to install on 'wrong versions' of the OS do NOT work. But will it physically work on 12.04, yes for sure it will because my upcoming update is looking to require v 12.04.3 Also, good choice on the 12.04 I *always* recommend staying with and ONLY using LTS versions :thumbup:
Not sure what to tell you. You'll have to keep downloading until successful. Do you live in an area with 'bad' internet ?
Yeah i do have a bad area with "bad" internet. Well, then i guess i'll keep downloading : X

I think it's great idea.
I've spent a lot time myself reading forum and learning how to setup server, how things work. I experienced how much time debugging and testing takes. I can imagine how much life time you have dedicated on this project.
I'm myself using your package for personal fun. Thanx to your release I could skip all this technical network hassle and focus on editing game content. In short I have something running to work on.
Thanx to you I have a chance to play with PW and from there learn how it works.
Holding thumbs for new release

Sorry for my bad english.
Who handles your internet? b/c "Interrupted by the network" might mean who ever set up your router has put a cap on the size of file you can download. (Or it also could be your ISP setting a limit. I don't know how networks work in France but it's a thought)
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Need i ubuntu or can i use debian too?
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
From my memory this will work with MANY different flavors of Linux... Including most, if not all, debian distro's
I will warn you (and everyone else) though, that, the major update to this package (that should be right around the corner from it's release [finally]) will specifically require *Ubuntu Server x64 12.04.3... There will of course be a way to 'bypass' that (for people that REALLY know what they're doing) and run on any OS you so desire, but at least in terms of what the package has been designed for -- it will specifically require *Ubuntu server x64 v12.04.3! One of the (main) reasons for this is: I've set up the package for capabilities of being installed on a machine with absolutely NO internet (including the necessary installation of ia32-libs) -- as I myself have done these types of installations at and for LAN parties {yes, REAL, LAN parties -- where there is NO interwebz}... Also of course, the entire package is also meant to be 'n00b friendly' so I want things to be as simple as possible for those people 'new' to the 'scene' to be able to get a server installed and working with ease (as it is hard to LEARN from something that's not a working example).
So, in the future -- look for my package/update (installation scripts) to REQUIRE *Ubuntu Server x64 12.04.3 {again, of course there's a way around that for anyone who actually KNOWS what they're doing }...

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
In principle it installs the same on any machine, whether it's a VM, or it's sitting right next to you, or it's on the other side of the earth
