I'm new to this dev stuff been playing perfect world for 7 years now and i now want to create my own server. The part that i am stuck at is when you get to cd mounting. It says unknown device and i don't know how to upload the server files. I've gotten ubuntu 10.04 installed on vmware. Mind giving me a hand?
IS realy simple.
Change in .tomcat_start.sh
echo ""
echo "=== STARTING APACHE TOMCAT ==="
#export JRE_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.5.0_21
cd /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/bin/
./startup.sh
sleep 1
echo "=== DONE! ==="
echo ""
<to>
echo ""
echo "=== STARTING APACHE TOMCAT ==="
#export JRE_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.5.0_21
cd /opt/apache-tomcat-5-5-28/bin/
./startup.sh
sleep 1
echo "=== DONE! ==="
echo ""
Same in .tomcat2_start.sh
echo ""
echo "=== STARTING APACHE TOMCAT ==="
#export JRE_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.5.0_21
cd /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/bin/
./startup.sh
sleep 1
echo "=== DONE! ==="
echo ""
<to>
echo ""
echo "=== STARTING APACHE TOMCAT ==="
#export JRE_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.5.0_21
cd /opt/apache-tomcat-5-5-28/2/bin/
./startup.sh
sleep 1
echo "=== DONE! ==="
echo ""
First i thought why to help cuz some ppl here dont help me to and insult me only. But i hope it help a bit.

No, I would never recommend running "the latest" version. "The latest" does NOT mean "the greatest". I recommend using ONLY "LTE" versions!
That's really odd, I wish I still had this release to see what happened there. As that (obviously) should not have been. The only thing I could think of is I changed something for the pending release, and it somehow made it's way into the old package, or you changed something somewhere... Oh well, doesn't really matter I suppose since you were able to find it :):
Not me...
Are you using a physical machine, or a VM? You don't really want to 'upload' this package to the server as you WILL have to deal with permissions manually. Optimally you will either have a physical disc (burned from the ISO) or you will mount the ISO as a physical disc (if using a VM)...
Have you verified the checksums ?
Yup for server_root.7zip
why "Change Account Password Forcefully" in pwAdmin does not work?
It says:
maybe it is an error php code.anyone here know how to fix this?i don't know anything about php.sorry if my English bad:D:Quote:

That's really odd then. First report of that nature post thousands and thousands of installs/downloads (IK, I watch the DL counter and it's hovering around 10,000 DL's for this package currently)... I could only think to re-install, or manually check the problem it's saying exists. I am not really directly supporting the version of this package that's currently downloadable any longer since there is a MAJOR update coming out within the next Q (quarter) -- if everything goes as planned with testing anyway...
I think I'd pretty much have to re-state almost exactly what I said above for this too. I've never seen this error myself (and I don't believe I've heard of anyone else having problems with this feature either). I'd just have to recommend re-installation (formatting/zero'ing first) and or just attempting to attack it head on by yourself. I really do not have access to this [now ancient] release any longer, and no offense but, there's no way I'm gonna re-download this old ass release when I have that major update hopefully about to drop soon :wink:
So current best advice I can offer anyone w/ any problems is to:
A) format/zero - then re-install
B) attack the problem head on (by yourself) [guess and check, if you don't know what you're doing, trust me your PC/VM wont catch fire]
C) wait for the [epic] update to this package that will be out as soon as humanly possible...
New update will be via torrent :wink:
at least, that's how I've been planning it all along just because I'm sick and tired of having to split files <.<
That and if enough people seed (and don't just leech) the package will be available at some pretty amazing speeds (eventually). Then again if not enough people seed and the torrent "dies", well that wont be my problem either >.>
That and I also like the decentralization of torrent, so there wont have to be much fear of the package EVER being 'deleted' (or disappearing) like back in the days when I had it hosted on MegaUpload :(:
So the overall fate of the package will ultimately lie in the hands of "the community" / seeders.
I hate torrent.even download just a music could be a year(if many leechers).:glare:
Then just make sure you're one of the first to grab it o.O
(&) Just don't be 'that leech' make sure you seed too!
add:
If other people keep seeding, I will keep seeding indefinitely. If I see people are leeching only and not seeding, I will happily LET it DIE (I'm NOT going to be the only one seeding this)... :wink:
torrent or the basic of it is the best way of sharing files ... the best ever ...
It is, I have to agree. It's not centralized so almost impossible to have any 'take down'. The only problem ever is when people leech and don't seed. Which is why I've said I will seed pretty much indefinitely as long as I see it's a healthy torrent with plenty of other seeders/seeds. Once I notice my load is getting too heavy (on just me) because there aren't an adequate number of seeders, I will also happily pull my seed and allow the torrent to die. The fate of this package lies in "the community" or "the world"... Not just me, and not just one upload location/server (like MegaUpload)... It will be a torrent that, if everyone that downloads it seeds it (regardless of whether 24/7 or just whenever their computer is on [only because I know that not everyone keeps their PC on 24/7 {although you SHOULD}]) too, the torrent will live on just fine... I personally do NOT have (or have access to) good upload speeds. So, I will be getting this to some initial seeders as well, to make 'release' as smooth as possible.
So, again, I'll throw it out there that if anyone wants to be an initial seeder let me know of your interest. Naturally, I will only be considering people based on their connection speeds, not anything else. Not "how long I've known you", not because "you have or are willing to pay me", not because "you'll s*** m* d***". :lol: and obviously "just wanting to be one of the first to have it" doesn't cut it either... I will pick the top/fastest uplink/upload speeds. I am looking for somewhere between 5 and 15 initial seeders. Submit your resume below (just let me know what your uplink speeds are, and be ready to actually prove it prior to receiving the package, I have ways of testing it). Thank you! About the only other thing I ask of initial seeders: I do want 'initial seeders' to be the type that leave their PC on 24/7 (important for the initial seeding)...
