Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
I was recently playing around with this stuff, but I do noticed that I am not able to edit elements.data for some odd reasons.
I've tried many different configurations found via google, but it keeps giving Version Mismatch errors. Even with the sELedit included in the tools ISO...
I am using 1.4.6 client, from the 1.4.6 Client ISO.
(Which I have no clue which Version numbering it is, since there appears to be even a difference where it adds this vxx behind 1.x.x number.)
PS: I also decided to keep uTorrent on for helping this torrent seeding :)

Nevermind, I figured it out while searching a bit via google where I came out on this project which appears to works fine with v80 configuration file. <3

Also, just to let you know, there are several versions in various places in PW_DEV. If you're rockin' v146 the one you're looking for is in pw_dev/pwtools-bin/sELedit/

The entire pw_dev/pwtools-bin is the newest of all tools from Ronny at the time of the release... Most of the other stuff is either universal or more geared toward v136 (since that has been, is, and always will be my favorite version)...

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
I've spent quite a while trying to get the server installed. And every time I think I've made progress, something else goes wrong. Currently, I've managed to get the pw-131-server iso working (I think). However, I think I either missed a step, or somehow screwed up the process. Because of this, I have re-installed and started from scratch about three times now, but I still end up with the same issue. cd /root/notes continues to give me issues, and I'm at a loss for what to do to resolve it. I have searched this thread, google, and watched and re-watched the installation video multiple times. Although these things have assisted in resolving previous problems, this one persists.
I have attached a screen shot to show exactly which step I'm at, and the issue as it appears. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

So you are trying to get at the PW_DEV notes? for that you need to mount the PW_DEV iso. with "mount /dev/cdrom /cdom(Side note, the last "/cdrom" will change from person to person i think you had it at /media/cdrom)" then you can access it through that.
In the sreenshot you do "ls" then it lists the only things in that directory? and thats the "install-131" and to get that to work you need to install the 1.3.6 files first. does that help a little bit?
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Last I knew 343 had not updated the video so it is still for the previous release which has different steps. As previously stated, the base install is 1.3.6, then you would install 1.3.1 or 1.4.6 if you so choose. Follow the written instructions in the first post and it will work every time.

I am thinking about uploading a video for his new release for people who cant seem to figure it out by reading (Don't know how that could be because i figured my server out by reading the entire thread xD)

This needs to be placed in PWServer/146/gamed/config/a31/map
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Seems to be working now. Thanks for sharing, crxfreak! :3

A video tutorial would be lovely. I have no issues reading instructions, but when things get updated, and the instructions don't get fully updated to match those changes, it makes things rather difficult to follow. I have managed to get further each time I re-install, but that is becoming very tedious and irritating. Although I'm enjoying learning more about Linux (especially since my actual Linux class doesn't start for another 3 months), I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with this install. Any/all help is greatly appreciated.
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
The instructions for the newest release of these files do have full instructions in the first post. You can't follow the instructions below that as they are for a prior release.

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
So I have been playing with this again, and after re-installing (for about the 10th or so time now), I finally got ia32-libs taken care of, and was able to progress to the next step. However, even though I have 136 mounted, every time I try to access the notes, it tells me there is no such directory. I've tried searching for other commands to access it, but once again, the commands in the 1st post, do not work for me. I have discovered, however, that this is due in part to the fact that I'm using a newer version of VMware.
Anyway, here is another screenshot of the issue I'm having. Perhaps someone can spot something I wasn't able to, or can suggest a work-around for this irritating issue.

*facedesk* To access the "pw notes" you have to mount the PW_DEV.iso file then access it through that.
Note: Use the updated file set (and by this i mean the newer release that 343 made) and download all those, they work and you will have a 100% tutorial on how to install it and also flip through the few hundred pages of this forum and they will most likely answer a question on it.
