Default directory for sPatch patcher is /opt/lampp/htdocs/patch
Also, do not forget, CPW is located in /opt/cpw/ and also comes pre-set-up (all you have to do is the 'initial' build).

ok ya i found the cpw, But, i had to reinstall everything, and now when i try to mount, it says its readonly and does not want to mount.... Any ideas?
ok so, how do i get it to work now? sorry for so many questions.
also, after i do "mount", i go to the directory i created for it to be mounted on, and open it, and it opens up and has like 5 files in it.
1 called custom, then like upgra32, upgra64 , and upgrade.sh ?????????????
This didnt happen before lol.
ya ik, i tried this command
cp -r */ and it dont work. =\
It worked the first time so i have no idea.

make sure that you mounted
cd /cdrom
ls
then cp -R * /
dolkeboy, i get an error now for some reason.. could you like... teamview me or something? see if you know what to do... lol I don't understand, I had it working before, now it don't want to work lol.
Hmmm i cant teamviewer atm im working on gfx's and is pretty annoying cause i got to test many of them.
my suggestion is : install vbox --> install ubuntu 10.4 ---> install power iso ---> after all that done open your machine log in as root then go to Devices ---> CD/DVD Devices ---> and chose the Host Device that you mounted on the server_root.iso
its better for you until u get the vmware working.
Okay, now i tried following like 5 different tutorials on how to make it public, Like which ip do i use in the configs?
Download Simple Port Forwarding | Simple Port Forwarding™
open your ports with it (make sure that you chosed the right modem or whatever u have)
then after you open ports 8080 29000 (i didnt needed to open the port 80)
Go to DMZ and add there your ip and the push on DMZ or confirm depends on what you have.
After your 100% sure that you have done all perfect give your ip to a friend to test it:ott1:
Alright, I will do that, thanks alot. But, I already have those ports fowarded in my router administration, but when i turn on the server ./start.sh, and then wait for it to say all done, then i try my http://IPADDRESS/pwAdmin or /admin, it dont show up, it just comes up with xampp homepage. I don't know why.
EDIT: Also, thanks alot for your help.
Okay, is the ip address i use the one where, on my host computer, (Windows 7) and type cmd, then ipconfig, then i use the one thats my ipv4 address right? I know I dont use my gateway address. Or is it the one I use where if i type on my guest pc (linux), ifconfig
And then the eth0 address? which is 10.0.X.XX, Do you know which one i use?
try http://IPADDRESS:8443/pwAdmin

help....pwadmin site cant open..Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 192.168.x0x/admin help me!!
Hello, everyone,
Hello, admin1999,
Ok, for start you can try some cross-diagnose method:
1) Start VM/Vbox whatever you use, start the server.
2) Open CMD on the Win (you mentioned you use 7)
3) After the server is UP and you see ALL DONE message make a
netstat -a
command on both Win and VM side.
4) Lets presume your network has prefix 192.168.44.XXX:
on VM side you should see:
tcp6 0 0 [::]:8443 [::]:0 LISTEN
(and not only this)
on Win side you should see several:
192.168.44.1:ZZZZZ ports like this
5) at this point we can presume that both networks on VM and WIN are UP and you can do PING 192.168.44.1
IF that is OK then you SHOULD be able to get to the XXX:8443/pwAdmin page.
Either way if not here are a few suggestions:
Make sure your Network is set up as NAT under the VM - this will merge the network with your localhost's IPs and avoid conflicts.
When asked by WIN 7 what to do with the new local network when installing VM (because i'm sure the besterd will ask) choose Home Network to allow connections to it.
Experiment with PING from WIN side vers your VM
taking the IP from IFCONFIG command on VM and trying to ping
192.168.44.1 - gateway
192.168.44.XXX - your server ip
Put here some more info about your network (with hidden IPs if you want) so that we can help.
And besides - some LIKE for 343 and dolkeboy will be very welcomed any time since the guys are so helpful, don't you think?
Cheers, mate!
Someone had to say it xD
Which program can I use to unpack client files? I get unexpected error.
HJSplit: free file splitting software for Windows, Linux and other platforms
will do that for u
Don't c the thump up button anywhere, so just thank you every1 in common.
Nice guide, and so simple here.
I setup this the 2nd time, and I got problem when tried to ./start.sh
I couldn't start the Apache Tomcat (1 and 2):
The BASEDIR environment variable is not defined correctly. This environment variable is needed to run this program.
It happened after I chmod 777 catalina.sh file, cuz I'm using fresh server, need to chmod alots.
So with that, I can direct link to my-ip/admin, but couldn't log in with username: pwAdmin, pass: root. This above problem led to this problem too?
place all 3 files in 1 folder then hjsplit there too , join them with hjsplit and then extract with winrar /7z
Hey thanks for all the help. But I dont get how I should extract them with Winrar/7z cuz they come out in a normal file format. Winrar and 7z says some thing like there is no archive to open. I hope you can help with this last thing I would be so grateful.
Don't hate me if im a little retarded xD
Use hjslpit to join them then u can use winrar
http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/534/helpma.jpg
The one on the top is the joined one.. It came out like that and Winrar or 7z will not open or extract it. Thats where im stuck. When I join they come out like that so I cant open them. :(:
well u changed the type of other too files 002 ,001?
@ jyyt
For me the client files didn't need the hjsplit to combine and then to unarchive.
1 - open with 7z the first file of the client files
2 - select extract to..... and let it extract (it will automatically extract all 3 of them 002...003 etc...)
3 - the so extracted PWclient-something.zip you can unzip or unrar to a new folder.
4 - there you have the game client folder.
I hope this helps.
That will be the solution to your problem. Any problems you're still having are due to whatever has been 'tried' on the files you currently have. Once you delete whatever files you currently have for the client, and re-download a brand new copy it should extract just fine with 7z
Seeing as there's been no response I will assume it worked :):
No problems showed , i love 1.3.6 i can custom everything i tried on 1.4.4 some things that i was able to do on 1.3.6 and they dont work + that you need tons of money for a 1.4.4 and a long time to get it customised..

Well 343 i want to say that im pretty impressed this new update made things really easy at least for customisations im 100% sure that it did , i wanna say again good job and keep going like this.
Also about SS's there are TONS of other weps that u guys might not seen in perfect world i had no time to test them all.
I have a question 343 have you tested the armors to they work? or as fashion? from what i saw they are diff (jd i guess) they look great when l have time il test them.
Only Problem I got so far is the client parts like part 1 2 and 3 I need someone to either tell me or make a video on how to get that up and running.
To be honest, there hasn't been much 'in game testing' to A LOT of content (such as armors/weaps, and fashion)... So I can not really comment on that at this time :(:
Open with 7z...
Basically, it is newer than what I originally released (hence 'update') however, it is not an 'update' like your traditional update. You do not need the previous version(s) to 'update'.
It is indeed a stand-alone package (download everything from the first post and you'll be 'set') :thumbup1:
Welll i will test them and post the results
Hello I just got done installing the release everything went smooth and thank you for the release the only problem I trying to figure out why the ./gs is offline I check all the ips and there all in the correct spot I was wondering if anyone had some insight on this please ..I have not installed the client yet just want to make the maps are online first ..

i have a problem mounting the server image
here is a screenshot of the problem:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/189/serverdg.jpg/
or here
http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/497/serverdg.jpg
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I used daemon tools to make a virtual cd drive and mount the image there and put your vmware on auto detect on the cdrom and it should work .
kk tnx i'll try it
No offense, but I am going to make an example out of you:
This is the perfect example of how GOOGLE is your friend. This question is truly (technically) NOT related to PW in any way shape or form. This would be Linux itself that you're having a problem with. Looking > HERE < (which is the result from the GOOGLE search tearm "/dev/cdrom does not exist"). Which would be the error message you received from Linux > HERE <
Anywhoot, to answer your question:
For whatever reason the symbolic link that is normally associated with your 'cdrom' device upon installation of Linux is missing.
To correct this you can 'call it' by the actual device 'name' or you can create a 'symbolic link' so that you can refer to it as 'cdrom' in the future.
[example]{taken from link I have provided for you}
Code:Run 'dmesg', and find the line that mentions your DVD rom drive. It will
tell which device it is. Typically /dev/hdb, or hdc or hdd.
Once you've determined that, make a link, using 'ln -s'.
For example:
For me, dmesg shows this line:
hdc: _NEC DV-5700A, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
as root, run:
ln -s /dev/hdc /dev/cdrom
ln -s /dev/hdc /dev/dvd
The second link is optional, but many programs use it, so I recommend it.
Hope this helps, and I hope that everyone can learn something from this response :wink:Spoiler:
Add: BTW, (I just noticed your current post count [of 4]), Welcome to RZ :D:
Not really, because this 'problem' is in Linux ('inside' a [guest] VM at that) he could mount it 100 different ways from Friday and the symbolic link for /dev/cdrom will still not exist. It wouldn't matter if he mounted in his host OS as a "real drive" (using something like PowerISO or Daemon tools), it wouldn't matter if he physically burned the disc and then sat it in the tray of the optical drive of his host os, etc... ... The only 'true' way to "fix" this is to add the symbolic link for /dev/cdrom
Doesn't sound right, but certainly interesting to know. Certainly creating (or modifying) the symbolic link or mounting to VMware via a different method (as you say), would be the better two options though. The whole downloading/mounting/extracting and all that is too much especially when the latter two options would be much quicker (and more useful 'in the long run') :):

why ?
we cant know ur netwotk / router / modem / basic knowledge / etc.pp
... google ...
i mean offline i don't need router for offline someone know how to set it help me
Yes, you need to properly set up your own network there. It certainly looks as if you just tried to 'copy' my network settings - which will never work for you since you are not within MY LAN...

Hi, i'm having trouble getting iweb working, my-ip:8080/iweb shows a blank page, no matter what i try, pwadmin runs perfectly, totally stumped at this point is there a config that needs to be tweaked for iweb to run?
nah.. i am changing the drive manually... but still the same error... Maybe someone can teamview my comp? And could help me ?
There is no /iweb/ in my release. iWeb is present in the release (but is located in /iweb136/ instead)...
Try same thing as here:

(no, windows is /p)
you can use:
| less
or
| more
using less will allow you to scroll up and down (you have to use "Q" to quit), using more will just wait for you to finish reading before you press something and it scrolls till it reaches the end...
Ah.. thanks again ;)

i have a problem with pwAdmin Please Can Anyone Help me?
Even better, just try to mount it directly. IE: if you find out through dmesg that it's say HDC, don't 'mess' with the link, just directly try to mount it (to make sure it works and to use it). Just:
mount /dev/xxx /mountpointhere
rather than trying to mess about with the symbolic link. Of course once you verify that it's a certain device (working) you can remove the old symbolic link:
rm /dev/cdrom
then do the steps all over again (from the other post) to associate a symbolic link between /dev/xxx and /dev/cdrom
That's not very descriptive.
it's not showing HDC or whatever... and the line which shows. CD-ROM or DVD-ROM i tried mounting it directly.... but m a failure xD
my client 1, every time i download it, it gets corrupted, any suggestions?
or better downloader ...

whats eth0 ip? try it and see if it works if no try this :
ufw allow 22
ufw enable
(for ufw once that you enable it you will need too allow all the ports that you need for example to acces pwAdmin you will need to ufw allow 8443)
~also this looks like fgru's 1.4.4 (with Broc923 tutorial).
try what i typed up there also try : ping google.com

I personally do not use WinSCP (therefore do not and cannot support it). So if you still desire to use it I'm sure others can 'support' it and help get you going
However, seeing (from your pics) that you're running a VM of PW you should just do what I do, and transfer files directly via the ISO (most VM software will mount the ISO for the 'guest OS') or put files you want to transfer between "host" and "guest" OS on a USB drive, and then transfer which 'machine' (host or guest) has control over the device. It's really much simpler than it probably sounds, and should be MUCH more simplex than setting up WinSCP or SSH / VPN, or anything else!
Keep downloading until you do get a successful download (that's all you can do, aside giving up). Verify the hash values and you'll know if you got a good DL or not :):
