2. I guess the client doesnt work because there is no server control running.. I checked Gshops, didnt made any changes from the package, so there's nothing error there.. I guess..
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
I didn't do much FW testing other than making sure the server comes up myself. Though I had testers (claim) "verify" that it was working. Are you using the client provided with the release?
As far as the "admin interface" it still defaults to the interface for PW because one was not included for FW because I do not have one for FW. If I recall correctly FW automatically starts after you install then reboot. But sadly due to not having an "admin interface" for it, everything must be controlled in a terminal. IE starting or stopping maps. Though the game server and main map should be starting automatically after an installation and then on subsequent reboots.
The only reason I could think of that you'd be getting the error you're getting would be if you were using a different client than the one provided with the release. Because, assuming it's the same as PW, it will give the "client low" error for mismatching time stamps on certain file(s). So, if you're using a different client those time stamps likely will not match. If you use the provided client you should be able to create an account, and log in and play and everything.

Correct, and if you try to run the installation script on any other version you should get the error "This MUST be ran on Ubuntu 12.04.3!". If 12.04.3 is now automatically updating make sure to install the package before it can do so (if it means not allowing the machine or the VM any WAN connectivity)... IE: make sure the machine or VM has to internet while installing the OS (12.04.3) and the package. Then you can always connect to a WAN *after* installation.

Yea, again, sorry about that - as (at least at the time of release) I did not have (and still do not have) any "control panel" for FW. So /admin will still only bring you to a control panel for PW. Everything FW must be handled at a terminal. When installing (or using the pwversion service) you can (and probably) should say (Y)es to have it install as a "system service". Then it will automatically start the game server and main map every time the system boots up!
FW was something I've never played, or never even logged into, not the official game and not any Pserver. I just included it in the release as kind of a bonus since I saw people were having problems getting it running too.
If you're using the server AND client from the release I really cannot even begin to imagine it not working, since I had "testers" report that it was =S The only other thing I could think of would be any involuntary changes to the timestamps on files - for example, if you transfer any of the files using WinSCP, is one example where I know the timestamps of files /could/ be changed even without you realizing or knowing it...

That is not a new question either... That is one of those questions that I believe has been answered many times. It's even answered in this very thread.

And people wonder why we get ticked off when people ask things that have been asked TOO MANY TIMES BEFORE. There is a search feature in VB for a reason. There is GOOGLE, YAHOO, BING, MSN, or billions of other search engines too!
Here check this out, the forum has a main search feature:
http://forum.ragezone.com/attachment...7&d=1419504064
http://forum.ragezone.com/attachment...8&d=1419504064
PW Section specific:
http://forum.ragezone.com/attachment...9&d=1419504064
how about this one - THREAD specific:
http://forum.ragezone.com/attachment...0&d=1419504064
This post is not aimed at any ONE person either, this is to ALL those people who don't know how to search! LEARN HOW TO SEARCH!!!

Now, specifically for you Mr. Perplexed:
I'm going to show you what would have happened had you searched:
http://forum.ragezone.com/attachment...2&d=1419504667
See, you would have gotten TWO PAGES consisting of TWENTY-SEVEN responses or results, from THIS THREAD ALONE!
http://forum.ragezone.com/attachment...3&d=1419504667
And even if that somehow did not help you (which it would have) you could have done a google check:
Click here to see google results for "MOUNT POINT CDROM DOES NOT EXIST"
Which surely would have answered your question.

Happy Holidays!
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Will that work though on VMware? I am trying both 151 and 136 / 141 to get any working with GM abilities and keep running into problems lol. VMware does not like bridged connections >.<

I did try mkdir /cdroim. It wouldn't let me. Something about denied access as root user? I don't know but will try again. VMware won't allow a bridged connection ( When using auto configure ) So am using VBox.
Will try again. Who knows, maybe 1 millionth times the charm :/
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
The video or any instructions from post #2 shouldn't be followed unless you're using that release. That being said, as inadvisable as it is to actually log in as root (in the 'professional' world anyway) - you do have to for this release. If you're not doing that and or if you're unsure if you are, or how to - when you first log in using the account you created during the OS install you will need to 'unlock' the root account. For security purposes Ubuntu has the root account 'locked'. You do this by merely logging in on the "normal" user account created during the OS install. You then issue the command: "sudo passwd root" and create a password for the root user. You can now log out, and back in as root. You can then continue with the installation of this package.
Furthermore, even in my 'dated' video (from post #2 ) of the old version of the release, no, I did not have to manually create the mount point. I actually have never had to myself as every time I've installed Ubuntu server the mount point /cdrom has always been created by the OS.
Much of this has already been explained, but I am in an extra cheerful mood atm because it is the holiday!
For one thing, do not be afraid to mess around. Trial and error is probably THE greatest learning tool there is. I've personally installed not only Ubuntu server, but this package probably literally a million times now. Also, believe me, enough trial and error and you're likely to figure it out eventually. Just like me, you'll be kicking yourself in the rear when you realize what you were or weren't doing, right or wrong. The moral of the story is, keep at it and you'll get it...

Now I've got a new problem...
I restored from a backup I took 2 days ago and when I try to login to pwAdmin, the page frames are all screwed up. I get the top image banner in the middle of the screen, the navigation bar at the bottom, and can't see/do anything else. I can click buttons all day, but nothing appears. (looks as if it should be working, but I can't see anything if it is.)
Frustration is really killing me at this point. Finally had it all ready, server was running stable, prepared for TW tonight, and poof, everything is gone :*:
Well.. I'd searched, about this case in this thread, but didnt find any solutions for it. My problem is, the pwAdmin are not responding with my 2nd password "root" so I can start the maps or etc in server control. Whenever I enter the password, nothing changed, like previous posts, it looks like a wrong password, but I didnt change at all, and checked .pwadminconf.jsp, its still in default "root = md5 code bla bla bla..." And here's the screenshot of my pwAdmin condition.
http://s14.postimg.org/saliobrxd/Untitled.jpg
So, any solution? been restarting sql few times, nothing seems working. And yes, tried with removing work directory, both.. seems nothing changes..
rm -R /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/work <-- removed
rm -R /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/work <-- directory not existed
Any angelic kind of heart knows the solution?
P/S:- I'd still running the map as usual though, gotta use the command itself in VMware to start the maps, ./start_min.sh , but well, as u can see, wouldnt be great if I can access the server control as it should to.. thanks in advance..
STILL LONG LIVE TO 343 RELEASE! XD
Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
If you're using the newest version of the release, as stupid as it is going to sound, run the service pwversion. Because this (newest) release utilizes redundant copies of pwAdmin (internally) running "service pwversion" will copy over a fresh (and un-touched) copy of pwAdmin (to the "working dir").
If that doesn't resolve it - then it is something a little more involved... ... ...

HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!! Now I feel like stupid.. lol.. works like a charm! thanks again 343!
P/S:- I guess that "something a little more involved" thing is like missing a brain huh? XD
