All the releases are working for me. Your downloaded files are probably corrupted... Did you check the MD5 codes of your files with the ones provided by 343?

The Edit XML is only for 1.4.5, 1.4.6 and 1.4.7 only...

I tried eveything and I still couldnt edit my XML data. Making a private server is useless without being able to edit your character. So I use 146 instead, everything works in 146.

I only use 146 because of new armours and its the best working server next to 136.

authd NOT offline.

serverctrl.jsp say "Map (s) Stopped"
but maps not killed. (not stop map service)

I've used both VMWare and VirtualBox and I never faced any problems with authd.

As for your guide, a lot of things are going on at the same time.

If you aren't going to make the server public, there is no point on going though all of this, just use linux's local IP instead.

Using the command line is very confusing and requires a lot of thinking. OpenSSH server should be a must.

Why are you also turning off IPv6? IPv6 doesn't affect my authd with any means.

As for manually editing the IP address, do you know there is a command in the root folder which fixes the IP adresses?

@Marvin344 1.4.6 is in English. I believe you and @Regano missed some steps in installing Ubuntu. I would start with http://forum.ragezone.com/f452/compl...0/#post6233360 first. Read every step carefully and use the video as your guide. If you can successfully make the server work then move on to 1.4.6 and 1.5.1.

For WinSCP problems check if you have installed the SSH service by typing apt-get install openssh-server

in certain linux versions you can't log in your server from root of the SSH by default, then you have to change those restrictions manually in the VMware first, then you can log in with root from SSH
