Quick question maybe someone can answer for me. The steps say to edit /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/webapps/pwAdmin/WEB-INF/.userconfig.jsp However, this file is no where to be found. not on the ISO and not in the copied files.
Is there an issue with the ISO that it is incomplete?

Are you sure you are doing it right? How are you searching for it? Using linux commands in the terminal or an FTP program like winscp?

No there is no issue with iso. Did you check the hashes against 343s when you downloaded to make sure you didn't have a faulty download.

type ifconfig logged in as root and get the ip from there:) then change the ip from from /opt/lmapp/htdocs/config.php and the apache one :) then it should work

II finally got the server to load. I ended up going back to Ubuntu 11.04 server edition. Also there was an issue with mounting the image/cd turns out the command for me to use was mount /dev/scd1(might have been sd0) /media/cdrom. But all went well with one small problem. When I navigate to pwAdmin I can log in and all. However I have a problem with the db connection.
When I go to create an account, connection to mysql failed is displayed. Also in the browse accounts block there is says connection to mysql db failed. Now when I start up the server with ./start.sh everything starts just fine no errors.
what I have tried:
- mysql -u root -p root (no luck says that it is part of mysql and so on)
- tried to go to it in the browser myip/phmyadmin which says the myql connection failed
- also used myip:3306/phpmyadmin which shows connection from this ip is not allowed
Any help with this would be great.
By the way 343 great work so far with this package. (It is actually rather easy, but I am still a little rough with linux still so I gotta brush up on it more lmao)

You may have a bad DL. As long as they're all in the same directory, 7z will decompress them as long as they're an un-touched good DL. To verify whether you got a good or bad DL, verify each of the files hash/checksum values against the ones I have posted :wink:

Are you using 7-zip? or winrar? I have found that winrar will say it is corrupt.

The only reason it was split into 3 parts like that was due to the file hosts size limitations :wink:

Well I have some new problems...edited the Gshop and mounted the server iso with daemon tools and tried to copy the gshop.data to the iso and it says that it doesn't have space ...what should I do?

You would NOT want phpmyadmin to work for the WAN, that would prove a fatal mistake... If your server is not in your LAN (say it's sitting in some pretty data center somewhere), you would want to VPN / SSH or something along those lines. You would NOT, I repeat, you DO NOT want to have phpmyadmin open to the public!

I wouldn't recommend using another client with the server files, the client in this release was specifically made to be used with the server files. You will run into problems if you try using another client with this release, however if you don't mind working through the problems then I don't see why you can't give it a go if you know what you are doing. If you don't know what you are doing I recommend getting this release and playing around with it first.

When i go on my browser and type http://my-server-ip/admin ,
it redirects me to http://my-server-ip:8443/pwAdmin and gives me a can't connect error.
http://my-server-ip/register works tho.
had no errors while starting all services..

Update :
Yes! i did changed the IPS, but no change.
Is java running correctly? I usually chmod 777 the whole java folder which usually solves that problem. Once you do that just restart tomcat.
Also, for future reference, you should ask any questions specific to my release, in the release thread :wink:
Other than that, you should verify "what" the issue is... Similar to the response from Twister I would ask:
- "is tomcat running?"
- -yes, then check error logs...
- -no, why not?
- --"Is it a permission issue? "
- --yes, then change permissions
- --no, then check error logs...
Also, if you copied and installed everything as the "root" user (as instructed to do in my instructions/video) you really shouldn't be getting permission issues... Though at the same time, if you didn't, I would think you'd be having permission issues with more than just tomcat... So, I guess the main two things boil down to: knowing if you installed everything as root or not, and you troubleshooting to figure out more (can't really help any further until more is known)...

One of your questions I already answered in another thread (check pwdatabase and ecatomb). I wouldn't add any new GSHOP's (or any other files) to the original ISO, keep the original ISO original. Just directly add any new files, including GSHOP, directly to your running server (use any method you want, a USB drive, a new/separate ISO, a physical optical disc, a floppy disk, FTP, etc...). Lastly, this release already has a registration page... (it's located @ /opt/lampp/htdocs/register/)...

the location was south east of the city, no where near a NCP was just going from one city to another 'flying' and the client crashed
tried to go back in to the game with same char, to crash as soon as it loaded into the game..
edit: where in PwAdmin can you move the char please???

If you're interested in knowing more about WHY that is happening it is because of an NPC, more particuluarly (as crx pointed out), it's the gfx on a particular NPC that is causing that problem for you...
The other thing is, always, CHECK YOUR ERROR LOGS. Often error logs will solve the problem for you...
You can use the "character" tab in pwAdmin to edit an individual characters data :wink:
