Why pure client (1.3.1 or 1.3.4) crashes when entering into the world? What needs to change in the server to enter?
Gs changed - no effect
When using the server files "from this thread" you have to use the client files "from this thread" for it to work properly. It is stated in the OP.
I'm not very happy with the game client from this topic, there are many garbage. I want to play with the client Malaysia
Then you might want to try different server files, otherwise find out what the differences are between the server side files and the client you want to use, however I can promise you, you will be making modifications for a long time as this is well over 2 years of work and modifications.

as youre rank says ure a newbie..get some more experience..then you are allowed to say something about other peoples work.
PS: Sorry for those that added me on skype..i really dont have time lately..im at work most of time..just got a few days free..and gonna spend them resting
I'm trying to learn more, a little difficult to sit with google translator)
Also, despite my decreased level of activity here, I am still working on my 'update' "on the side" as I can. It's likely to be massive in number of changes made.... IE: I still cannot decide if I'm just going to change the way the 'install' takes place, or I may even make a .DEB out of the package - I don't know (yet)... {sorry I'm not really taking any 'input' on the matter, just kind of thinking out loud}///
So, it's gonna take a good LONG while (yet), but I encourage anyone waiting for it not to lose hope because I am working on it as I can. I will admit it's just going to take even longer now though that PW is no longer first priority in my life... Though, for those of you who are looking forward to it, keep up that hope
343, please fix the login for client 1.3.1 (usual location) :thumbup1:
343 sorry for the noob request but can you please re-upload the client cause' i tried downloading the file for 5 times already but it always has an error upon extracting....THANKS!!!

How do i enter the winSCP?
09blade it works perfectly for me.
but what i did was, i did all 3 files at the sametime.
got the server running. i'm forever alone in a big world. haha.
Another question, if i wanted to make it public one day.
what would you suggest installing it thru?
Currently using vbox.
nice release 343.
i noticed there was some tideborn stuff in the botique.. will they be released for it?
the classes that is.
If you're referring to logging in with WinSCP you'll first want to make sure you have openssh-server installed, then you would do ifconfig to get your IP on the installation. Then take that IP along with your root password and enter it in WinSCP to connect to the server over SFTP.
Invite some friends :):
Ideally you'd want a dedicated server running your favorite version of Linux, if you can't afford that no problem, you can either setup a separate computer as your server, again running your favorite distro of Linux, or if you're only going to have a small population you CAN (if you have enough RAM to sustain it) continue to run it through VBox on your main machine but I do not recommend this.
Eventually 343 will be releasing his 1.4.5 addon but this will happen when it happens, there is no expected date for release. It could be tomorrow it could be in 2 years but I'll let him speak more on that.
I'm a complete newb when it come to this.
used over 20+ houres on my first 1.4.5 server. (got it working)
but 343 recommended his complete pack.
and thus i started working on it.
As for the:
openssh-server
It werent in the steps. So i have really no clue of how to install it
I doubt just writing apt-get install openssh-server will be enough
So seeing he didnt put em in his steps, i'm wondering if theres another way to:
adjust the server? Npc,quests, items.. etc.. to my liking?
( I'm aware of the programs. just unsure how to upload em to the server without winSCP )
Or if anyone can direct me to some working tutorial?
As for the dedicated server, which one is to be recommended(Linux version)?
I will be buying a server near summer. with 32G ram
1 TB. and a gpu/cpu/video card after 2008.
???
The files don't need to be re-uploaded because the uploads are fine. For whatever reason you're apparently getting bad DL's though. All I can suggest at this time (especially since I don't have these files anymore since I'm working on my huge update) would be to continue downloading until you get a successful download (check your downloads against the MD5/SHA checksums I've provided to assure you've downloaded successfully)... Eventually you're bound to get a good DL...
The reason it's not included in the 'instructions' is because it's not absolutely necessary. I always transfer my files between my winblows 'dev' machine and my physical server (or VM test/build server) is usually through physical media, such as (but not limited to) floppy, CD, DVD, USB drive (aka thumb drive), etc... Though I have never used WinSCP myself I *can* tell you it *IS* as simple as installing openssh-server. Which, as you said, would be as simple as using, "apt-get install openssh-server". After that you should simply be able to connect from your remote machine using WinSCP...
As far as getting a dedicated machine (in the future) you (in theory) could use any 'flavor' of Linux that you chose. However, Ubuntu Linux Server x64 is still probably the most popular and easy to get set up... Add, I have no clue why you would put a GPU in a server, that makes no sense, save the money and add more useful resources such as (even more) RAM or HDD... Servers do NOT need high end GPU's. Just the lowest end video (on board) will suffice!
Don't think its the files thats corrupted in his case.. Seems like hes extracting one at a time.
While one should ( i believe )(What worked ) You have to mark all 3 of em and extract em togheter.
Well it was that easy, who figured. but it seems some files are missing.
Whats needed for the rest? Can't find anything related to the server as task, element, gshop. etc.
Good to know, It was the most popular and most used one i was after seeing its.
1# more used, meaning. There are more tutorials on it incase i'm stuck
2# As 1. more info related to it.
3# its kinda what i have been using with vbox.
Was a post on the forum that said preferly one after 2008..
But nice to know! :3
Another thing.
Spoiler:
What am i doing wrong? Even tried with a love up and down.. And got the same type of error involving those 2.
I figured l^nD wasnt implented, so i tried the r8 armor. but as said its still gives me some trouble.
Next thing i would try would be the hex value of the item. But when it comes to Hex, i'm even lower than noob, so again i would need a point in the right direction. Sorry for asking so many questions, Eager to learn and searching for the correct forum post isnt always that easy.
Hello again, user 343.
after a year of trying unsuccessfully to lift a server perfect world, I'm back today to see if I can find a little help.
the truth is that while I can not learn the complete book of linux, to understand how it works to the smallest detail of the system.
but I think if I can learn, as I experienced. specifically I want to create a server from scratch, by which I mean to copy the "file server" system "-Server_v12.04-LTS Ubuntu" to start this experience and learn well from one of the users considered in my opinion great master of the subject, I would like you to tell me how to copy correctly the "PW server files" the system "Ubuntu-server" and start the configuration file by file.
if you help me, I promise to make a guide with your instructions for the community and so future users can see it with my questions.
I started by installing "Ubuntu Server v12.04 LTS" and I downloaded the "server_root.7z" your post ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤'ll be waiting to receive your instructions on how to copy correctly.
Greetings!:adore:
Note: excuse my bad English, I am Spanish speaking
Why don't you try it and see? :):
Spoiler:
You can as 343 mentioned just mount a folder to extract the files, some prefer this and while it's a great method some prefer using SFTP method with openssh-server. Is it necessary? No. Is it easy? Yes.
1TB HDD will be plenty, 32GB RAM is great to start with but it all depends on how high your population is going to be. Ideally you'll want to run all maps at the same time and THAT is what consumes so much RAM, then it's your population. As for high-end GPU's it is not needed on a server, it's needed on the machines that run the client, save your money here. :p
With respect to 343's comments I completely agree with his choice of Ubuntu Server x64, me personally I run Ubuntu Server 11.10
Moving on...
What is "the rest"? Anything related to task, element, gshop are all in /PWServer/gamed/config
I removed all files in this list you that did not have questions about.
As for your hex issue it seems simple enough but as I am not as well informed on that topic I'll leave that to the masters.Code:root@ubuntu#:/PWServer/gamed/config# ls
elements.data
gshop1.data
gshop.data
gshopsev1.data
gshopsev.data
task_npc.data
tasks.data
And how do i do this? I know how to mount cd's
Can't find anything related on how to mount a folder.:/:
Well i was hoping to be able to host a server for 1000+
But i'm a realist and its not that easy, to be so popular. (But i'll still try)
Would hostkey be a good temp provider for a pw server?
Well as for the rest, i meant i couldnt find the files inside the scp.
The PWserver/gamed/config isnt there.. so i tried to add the files there manually, to see if it would help.. But Seemingly when i'm Changing the botique data. I see the changes on the game, but it says the items arent listen in the botique or that they arent similar.
I'll await the answer involving hex then, in the meantime i'll browse tutorials on the forum =)
can you fix this? i've already set up the server and i did exactly what you did in the tutorial videoAttachment 119525
but when I go to 10.0.0.51/admin and 10.0.0.51/pwAdmin , its not loading
I would appreciate that u answer ASAP :D
Please, Thank you and Merry Christmas!
change it to your own ip.
Write ifconfig and check the one that says inet addr:
and change the according ones which is displayed in the video.
Spoiler:
Make sure to 'configure' your servers IP in the following files:
(and of course serverlist.txt on the client side /element/userdata/server/)Code:nano /opt/lampp/htdocs/config.php
nano /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/webapps/pwAdmin/WEB-INF/.userconfig.jsp
(and of course within patcher, if you'll be using a patcher [on the client side])
Yeah, I am using it nicely
BTW, can u explain this?
Attachment 119529
it says: inet addr: 10.0.0.51 , this is the ethernet
inet addr: 127.0.0.1 , this is the local loopback
Here is a nice guide for you, VirtualBox Shared Folders on Ubuntu Server 64bit, sometimes you have to broaden your search criteria and look a little more generic. This is for a Linux based VirtualBox / VMWare but the same idea follows whether you're on Windows or Linux.
As for specific companies to use I really can't say, but as for the setup I'd say you're going to want a minimum of 32GB of RAM, 343 has a nice guide around here for system requirements.
I did the 'ls' command from my setup which is actually 1.4.5 but as far as I can remember the setup is very similar. Basically you're looking for a folder (in my case it was PWServer) that houses other folders named (or similarly named) authd, gamed, glinkd, gacd, etc. etc. You should find a folder either called 'gamed', or something similar which should house a folder called 'config' and this is the directory / folder that has your elements.data, gshop.data etc. Just remember the changes you make on your server need to match your client in most cases, and vice versa.
CORRECTION: This part only for 1.4.5, see 343's comment.
GShop in particular will have gshop.data and gshopsev.data, the latter will be your server GShop file. Ronny (if you're unfamiliar with this person you will want to get to know his tools very well) has a great list of tools, one in particular is a GShop editor where you can import and export files as needed. The most important thing is make sure you use the same files on server and client but MOST important is the time stamp. If I confused I apologize but you will see this again later if you edit GShop.
Good idea, great attitude, keep this up and you'll do just fine here.
A few notes in response to what I've seen (without directly quoting them)
The pending update is going to be so 'huge' it will be a major change to many. For example I will be dropping support for all prior versions of Ubuntu, and requiring Ubuntu server 12.04.1 LTS. I will also be dropping x86 support, as running a PW server on a single machine takes so much RAM, there's really no point in continuing to 'support' x86 installations. So in the future look for it to require 12.04.1 LTS x64  (the only way it would really work on an x86 platform is if you split a 'single' game server between several separate physical machines like official PW does)...
I am also still sitting on the idea of making it a .DEB (installed using dpkg), not too sure if that will actually happen though as I am considering how some 'commercial grade' ("real") servers still only have CD drives, and not DVD drives. Well to make it a .DEB would pretty much throw out the (easy) possibility of splitting it to two discs (for those machines that do only have a CD ODD, and not a DVD ODD...)... So I may very well intentionally split it up into two optical discs, at least then it wont be any real hinderance to those who do have DVD ODD's (besides HAVING to switch the discs), but will be 'backwards compatible' with those machines that still only have a CD ODD...
As far as that sendmail JSP error, it looks to me like you're forgetting to add the , (comma) at the end of your new item lines. Every line (except the last one) needs a , at the end, IE:

Furthermore, if you're looking to host a server capable of 1000+ simultaneous connections, your bandwidth is going to be MUCH more important than your RAM, you could have 2TB of ram, but it wont mean shit if you don't have the proper amounts of bandwidth. I also have calculations on bandwidth requirements/recommendations HERE and HERE. Basically put, if you would like to host ~ (around) 1600 people (simultaneous connections) you'd want NO less than a 100/100 connection!Code:An error occurred at line: 69 in the jsp file: /addons/Send Mail/items.jsp

As far as mounting CD's or directories, of course mounting CD's (DVDs) is really straight-forward. However mounting a directory can be just as easy. Just use a program like PowerISO and make the directory an ISO, then mount the ISO (as a CD/DVD) !!! !!! !!!
@ earljohn - you don't have to follow the installation video to that much of a "T" unless your network happens to be a 10.0.0.0/255.255.0.0 network as well (which I kind of doubt). Your options would be to change your entire network to match that, or just change your server to meet/match your existing network. Many consumer grade networking equipment/routers/gateways either use something like a 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 or 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 setup... Even 172.16.0.0/255.255.0.0. I haven't seen any consumer grade shit that uses 10.0.0.0/255.255.0.0 or 10.0.0.0/255.255.255.0 or 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0, though I'm sure there may be some, that's more of a 'custom' set up (my network is HIGHLY customized, and I don't use consumer grade 'crap', I personally use all high end commercial grade shit)...!
@ blackb0xx -Actually this is one of the key points where v136- and v144+ are NOWHERE near the same, or even similar (one of the initial key factors in me requesting separated sections for v136- and v144+, seeing as I knew there was going to be MANY other things that "just weren't the same"). In v136 gshop.data is the same exact file on the client side and the server side (not like v144+ where you have a client side gshop.data and a physically different server side gshopsev.data), so, for v136, whichever gshop.data is physically the same EXACT file you want on the server side...Quote:
GShop in particular will have gshop.data and gshopsev.data, the latter will be your server GShop file. As far as Ronny's tools, my pw_dev.iso has, at least what was the most up to date when I stopped working heavily in PW_DEV... Among MANY other useful tools/utilities that will/could come in handy for working on any version of PW (v136- or v144+)... So, make sure to also grab the PW_DEV.ISO available in the first post
If you follow the guide in post #2 of that thread you should be up and running in no time at all
Also, please try to keep the board clean, no real reason to post a new thread on this if it directly involves my release. I will therefore merge this into that thread. Thank you.

343, I mean the entrance into the game with client 1.3.1 (crash), you can fix it?
Love it!
If I may... I love this idea and think it is great honestly. If I may I'd like to add a recommendation, it's obviously up to you if you use. Would you mind terribly including either script (.sh file) or instructions to follow what the .deb does. The only reason I ask is for some reason if something goes wrong with the .deb file you would essentially have a backup either install.sh file or instructions on what the .deb is supposed to be doing.... I hope that makes sense... EDIT: Looking back on this comment it seems a little redundant and almost counter productive. I'm sure you'll come up with something easy to use anyway and quite honestly I'll be grateful for anything you release.
Thanks for clearing that up, I completely forgot about the GShop changes from 1.3.6 to 1.4.4+, my apologies if I lead anyone the wrong way. It's been a while since I actually ran 1.3.6 regularly.
In case your files are not up to date you (or whoever) can always go to > PW-Tools at Google Code and download the svn. Honestly though I'd stick with 343's ISO as it was current to what is available in his release.
Connection to MySQL Database Failed
Attachment 119677
How can fix that? Everything seems to be OK, but why can`t connect to mysql database?
Can u make like a video and show to to make a sever and make the gm and all the other stuff u need for private sever like what exp u want and what lvl it starts at and like the how to put items and stuff lol
:*: please thank u XD
D: idk how to do this o.o
Did you change to your setup info in pwadminconf.jsp?
Note: I am working off of 1.4.5 setup, if I made a mistake I apologize.Code:// connection settings to the mysql pw database

Yearp, following posts #1 and 2 in this thread, even a monkey will wind up with a running PW server.
In a matter of 15 minutes at that... ... ...
hey, can u split client files to 250MB each part.
i have problem with big size download.
sorry for my bad english.
i have try with blue dragon client, but it dont works, thnx
I am not doing anything with the release that is currently 'out there' since I am working on a major update/addons, Sorry.
Um, ok so I installed Ubuntu on Oracle VM Virtualbox and everything, I can mount the server iso on my pc but I'm not sure how to mount it into Ubuntu to install it..... Can anyone help? I'm not really good with this sort of thing..... lol
I personally use VMware (so I wouldn't really be of any help), but I'm sure a google search would pull up some results  Just google "mounting an ISO virtualbox", "mount ISO vbox" or something along those lines until you can produce satisfactory results :):
Common now 343... This is Kyomizero/HeavenOnlyWishes.... Naturally I tried that already, no luck. There's surprisingly very little information on it. But I'll download VMware and try using it instead, if I have any trouble with it I'll let you know. Just out of curiousity, do you know if the finally made tools to edit the 1.4.4 or 1.4.5 files much like you can with the current 1.3.6 files yet?
Just out of curiosity what VMware are you using?
Sorry I've never used VBox, so I still wouldn't be able to help anyone on that one :(:
I personally use workstation (I actually purchased a "legitimate" copy I've been so pleased with VMware). Though you can use just the free VMware "player" (previously you could not create new VMs with it, hence it's name "player" - but they've since changed that [they actually changed it quite a while ago at this point], now VMware player can create new VM's too :D:)
I've worked on VBox with all of PW files, if you still haven't found out how to mount it or have any other problems/questions you can ask me. I will try to help you as much as I can.
Note: On my 1st try I used VM but I failed miserably (though it was 2 years ago) but I failed... then tried out VBox and got further than with VM... but still failed XD after around 20 tries my monkey brain finally understood that it was poking the wrong thing...
Note2: Can't wait for the major release... My Christmas wish didn't come true :/
Yea, I'm constantly raising the bar on myself =\
I am a perfectionist what can I say...
I was initially considering even making the package a .DEB (for real simple installation [and even removal] via dpkg), though bearing in mind many "real" servers (even many of my own 'commercial grade' servers) only have CD drives opposed to DVD ODD. So I've all but ruled out doing a .DEB (even though I know a debian package can be split this surely wont simplify things for those who know nothing of Linux)... So, to keep this package 'n00b' friendly I wouldn't look forward to it becoming a .DEB as was initially on the table... Though I would still count on it being even more simplex to install than it is now (the current 'release')... I think I will certainly be extending the simplicity of the installation, including making PW and all associated daemons 'services' so that they start when you power on the system (prior to even logging in)!
So yes, MUCH will be different! Though, as with a lot of my work, some of it may go unnoticed. It still wont be heavily geared toward security or being ran in a "production environment", but one of my main points of making this release (and making it so easy to get running) is to encourage people to want to dig into it to learn from it. (nothing like learning from something already working opposed to trying to learn how to fix or put something together that doesn't work before you can learn [put it this way, if you wanted to learn how to drive - would you rather jump in a car that already worked, and get to the learning how to drive part ; or would you want to first have to figure out how to get the engine in and the tires on before you could actually learn how to drive!?])... So while it will be great for installation simplicity, and as a good LAN party commodity, I still wouldn't necessarily recommend running it (as is anyways) in a "production environment"... Though if you know enough about network security (and linux, and the package) it wouldn't take much to get it up and running rather securely for a "production environment" anyway...
I do know (as stated some time previously) that, for the most part, I will be dropping support for x86 OS's. I don't plan on deleting anything that's already in there for the x86 support, but I plan on having the scripting set up entirely under the assumption that it's being installed on an x64 system. (anyone who really wants to run it on x86 will have to do so on their own time/accord)... IE: the installation script will automatically be installing ia32-libs (as one minor example), along with other x64 native 'programs'/'utilities'... I think this will also further simplify installation since there will no longer be a question of "which do I use, x86 or x64?". While some may think it's not nice to exclude x86, I may have agreed years and years ago. At this point though I would honestly have to say if your machine is not x64 'capable' ~ then it's time to upgrade (and if anyone thinks I'm a dick for saying that, then so be it; but seriously x64 is pretty much the 'norm' now anyway)...
So that is where the bulk of my focus is, is on the installation and the structure and whatnot. I've also (already) changed around the entire directory structure to accommodate other versions of PW (since I know 144 and 145 have since been publicly released)... Now 136 will reside in /PWServer/136/ instead of /PWServer/ - so if one wants to install say 144 or 145 they can add a /PWServer/144/ or /PWServer/145/! I will never release 144, I see no sense in doing so, if anything it's the "monkey in the middle" that everyone will pretty much forget sooner or later anyway. The hype would be at v136 and v145 (or 146 if it was publicly released)... I think 136 will always have a place in the community, if not for anything else, at the very least as a "learning tool" or "reference point"... I was thinking of doing a v145v63 "addon" for it, but since the recent public release of v145v69 I've already (quite literally) thrown that in the recycling bin <.< If I'm feeling nice enough I will toss out a v145v69 "addon" instead since I did DL the release to archive it and test for functionality (and any 'malicious' content)... Luckily I have already changed the structure for the future release, so if I do decide to do so it will just reside in /PWServer/145/. And although one would not be able to run v136 and v145 simultaneously (no matter how good of a machine you had) [because of port conflicts] - one WOULD be able to run both versions off of one machine, just not at the same time... Also seeing as probably almost nobody would have a machine actually capable of running 136 and 145 at the same time, I wouldn't bother running through all the configs to make it possible (even though I personally have a machine that would easily run both at the same time, even I wouldn't bother with that).
I will admit one of the biggest reasons it's taking so long is because PW has pretty much taken a back seat in my life. Since I finally quit playing official (actually finally un-installed the client about 6 mos ago), other factors are contributing to it as well. Work has picked up for me, and quite honestly my "real" work (which earns me a PAYCHECK) comes before my 'hobbies' Not to mention I've become quite the fanboy of a different (new) game... So don't fret, the release/update will eventually come, and it's bound to be quite a difference and improvement over the current downloadable release... Though at the same time I'm hoping you (and others) aren't expecting too many (if any) actual "in game" changes. I don't know if there will really be any significant ones in that department TBH. I don't think there's a whole lot that can be done "in game" besides customizations... Which is the other initial reason I made the release, just like I did (ie having several maps that are empty [like z9]) so that each individual that downloaded it could create their own customizations for it :):
I know it's already simple enough to install that I've been able to teach my pet monkey how to do it, and he's successfully done it a few times now  but I plan on making it even a tad easier. No matter what though, the installing user will still have to be capable of mounting the first CD at the very least (if I get everything set up the way I want to) as Linux doesn't "auto mount" an optical disc when you insert it... Then again, I suppose, if someone cannot even figure out how to mount a disc, they probably really need to turn around and not look back <.< Because there's nothing I can do to further simplify mounting the installation disc in linux!
Either way, I'm also glad that there are still at least a few people who look forward to my release/update :): (I know so many people are 'hyping' over 145/146 they've all but forgotten v136 :(:) Luckily it's apparent in the numbers too, I lost count of how many thousands of people have downloaded the server (especially since it was initially hosted on MU [which has ofc been shut down]), so I couldn't really get an accurate count right now if I wanted to. Though it also speaks volumes to me that in the light of all this 145/146 'craze' this thread is still pretty 'hoppin' for a 136 thread, with "151,023:Views & 2,843:Replies" at this time :D:
So hopefully it will live up to your expectations (and others as well), surely it isn't going to be released until it's up to MY expectations  :D:
After this (possibly last) update, I hope I earn enough EXP to equip my epic purple shirt :D::wink:
Spoiler:
What I am actually excited about is that I might see something new on the whole server system, and as you stated it it will be bit different, also I am looking forward to the addon. It's more the curiosity thank anything else. Because from an EPIC person like you, I think we all are expecting something interesting.
You mentioned "in game" editing. I think that you are totally correct and it would be better for anyone if the server files are clear without custom content, that way we can learn how to add it on our own, on the v136 there are already few tideborn things for example daggers, which are very nice custom items.
I am sure you will do a good job with the release.
Note: Was shocked by the huge reply, but I showed the respect and read it all.
I used to love waiting for your releases 343 and in some ways still do because I like to look in them and see what you have done, mostly so I can add those new changes to my server  I remember saying in this thread a long time ago that I was going to use your files and make it so my server had it's own unique style to it and was unrecognizable even by you 343. I think I have achieved that after lots of time spent working on it trying to make it unique in it's own way.
It's a shame you have given up on PW but I'll definately be checking out your last release once it arrives. Maybe there is something new to learn from it, that's always an exciting part of things I find :D
343 you know I'm always a fan, and if there's anything I can do to help let me know. Was definitely surprised at the long response but much like krikus, read the whole thing. Looks interesting. Thank you for switching to x64 btw.... I haven't had a x86 system or os since.... high school.... lol. I am rather curious at this 'new' gaming passion you have... care to share?
Oh and thanks krikus, once I get around to working with it if I have any troubles I'll let you know.
I mainly find it sad that 343 has decided to quit PW, since it's a great game, the best MMO I have ever dealt with. It is just mishandled by wanmei :)
Well, in general, want to clean the server, as the old and no new locations, items, quests...
I got an issue, but i will start off, by telling you This is Great 343. i have tried 20-30 other releases all failed....bad, but this one, so quick and simple, ^ ^ awesome work! I gotta admire you wanting people to learn from it, good goal. thats exactly why i am here :P. The autopath function does not work, i can click A coord, but it takes me no where like i never clicked it, xD if that makes ense how might i START looking at this? i dont want "a patch file" if i can edit something to straighten it out, by means of mouse and keyboard :D
I found 2 ways of doing this....Quote:
Um, ok so I installed Ubuntu on Oracle VM Virtualbox and everything, I can mount the server iso on my pc but I'm not sure how to mount it into Ubuntu to install it..... Can anyone help? I'm not really good with this sort of thing..... lol
1. Use a virtual disk mounter in windows then mount the Virtual drive in Vbox. Devices > CD/DVD > Host Drive E; (E: being the letter of your Virtual Drive, then continue with the Name# Sudo mount /cdrom/* /dev/sr0)
Or copy the Files inside The ISO, and paste them in a Flash Drive, and mount that with Devices > USB Device > "FLash name"
Then cd /dev/sdb
( Then run Your CP command)
Hello, for some reason the map service crashes when I add an item to a character using pwAdmin, has this problem happened to anyone else?
I've searched the tread for this kind of problem, but couldn't seem to find an answer.
BTW nice job on the release.
It may not be "for good", we'll see. I do know at a minimum I plan to stick around RZ, 'n' do the mod thing :):
There is no autopathing in this version (among many other things [like genies])...
Item does not exist (wrong number), incorrect hex data. Something missing or incorrect
I've said before here, though presuming you don't read every single thread/post like I do; I'll go ahead and say it one more time
I can now be found spending most any "free" time playing this >.>
343, i have a few questions, Perhaps you ccan PM me. It isn't for this post here it's for another and i don't see a send PM button for you. Please and Thank you ^ ^
Hey 343.
I was wondering, you released a really good rankings script a few months ago and I had it and it worked 100%%%%. Now I can't find it. I have downloaded your tools but I can't seem to see anything that would give a hint as to where the Ranking could be.
Could you maybe re-upload it or let me know where I can find it on the forum? I have searched for nearly 2 hours now and can't find it!!
Thanks a lot!
Hi 343 thanks for the quick reply.
You released the ranking script here > http://forum.ragezone.com/f694/top-players-676090/
Also, where is it in your tools pack..?
Ahh yes, I did put that out prior to its inclusion in this package, sadly since MU is long gone so is that release :(:
I am not thinking it would be in with any of my 'tool packs' either (IK I forgot I did release it as a 'stand-alone' but,) I don't think I would have included it with any "tools" seeing as it's not really a 'tool' persay (I guess you can call it an OCD thing )...
At this point I think your best bet would be sifting it out of this release.
That sucks.. That was the best script I could find on the Forum and now I can't use any others. Keep getting bugs.
I can always look further.
No chance of you still having it?!
I'll check my archives when I get home...
343, all people waiting npcgen for old frostcovered city
Hello.
I have changed the index.html but the tab/website name keeps Perfect World Private and when I go to my domain it keeps redirecting me to /register.
What is this?
The best regards,
Daniel

I actually did find what I THINK may have been that release. ¤ ¤ WARNING ¤ ¤ THIS WILL NOT BE UP TO DATE, if you want the most up to date I still HIGHLY recommend you just download this package in its entirety (if you don't have it already) and sift it out of it!
Though if you want it THAT badly, even though it's likely out of date, here:
¤¤¤ WARNING ¤¤¤ THIS FILE IS OUT OF DATE:
This has already been taken care of :ott1:
Enjoy...:
(note: the DL from 4shared actually contains the one from the beastie release as well [in the directory named "Server136Final"])

Unfortunately nothing normal, no mobs and npc or wrong coordinates mobs, like:
http://s019.radikal.ru/i607/1301/2d/0bd937a888e1t.jpg
Did you try all of them ?
Secondly, I clearly made a warning/disclaimer that "As I stated I did not test any of them, so all or some of them may or may not work (my little disclaimer)...", as these were not made by me, they were simply what was available in various releases when I first got involved in PW development... So indeed, they may all, 'not work' :/:
Tried everything, there are empty, there are new, some monsters and drop from the moon, coordinates wrong. All npcgen is homemade, ha ha
Well, I decided to re-install 136.. I re-downloaded all files.. Not counting the install of Debian or the long unpacking of files, the install took roughly 15 minutes, fired right up and not one single problem so far.. Knew I made the right choice on this package... So damned simple it would be amazing if any one had any problems with it if they just follow the instructions, not to mention the way it was setup and packed, seems kinda hard to screw any thing up.. But, am sure some can.. No, I did not read the "complete" thread for this package as I know a great deal of it was meant for the older package that was originally here, if I am not mistaken, could be though :D Anyway, thanks once again for a simply superb package 343
solved
hi guys, was reading the thread and wanted to try out this release. but im having trouble downloading the pw_client.z7.001 file from 4shared shown in the 1st post, i get an incomplete download or a corrupted file. i was wondering does anyone have the same issue that i do ?
ive got the parts 2 and 3.
thanks in advance

343, cube of fate not working? Final quest for the award are not available
I have not personally tested CoF, but a few people that have tested it for me said it was working... I will try to assure it's working for the pending update... Again with my lack of available time I may not have the time to test myself, and may have to have others test for me...
You can try that if you like, but I'm not sure which 'mirrors' are or are not up to date. If you do download from any 'mirror' make sure to verify that it's up to date utilizing the provided checksums... I have heard of people having problems even when I used MegaUpload (before they were taken down), so another safe bet would be to just keep trying my main DL link from 4shared, as tedious as it may be, until you get a successful download...
Also don't forget (everyone) I am still working on a MAJOR update to this entire package, which is still pending with no idea on a possible release date... I know I have a good amount of work to do before it will be anywhere near ready to release. I may also even wait until I can implement the 'original' FF/FCC/FC... ... ... So in the meantime, enjoy the release as it is, but also keep your eyes peeled for the pending major update :):
First I would like to thank you 343 for all the hard work you were doing all these years to put this EPIC package of Perfect World, one of my favorites MMORPG.
Now I want to ask you how can I setup the server (only for one offline player, thats me) in Windows XP o 7. I have experience in setting WoW emulators but I never installed Ubuntu so I don't know well that OS. Sorry If this question is answered elsewhere, no harm intended and thanks for any help given.
Very good package, i remove all unnecessary locations and non standart client, 1.3.1 is better, that's where vintage and beautiful interface, haha
thanks got the thing working. 4shared link for .001 file dint work out for me. But after everything successfully downloaded, followed the instructions to the T, worked flawless thank you and nice release.
...looking forward for the major update.:):
You can definitely look forward to it, although at the same time I must warn you (and everyone else), again, do not hold your breath ~ as I have no projected date for this pending update / release. So, theoretically it could be tomorrow, or it could be next year... ... ...
I will see about what help I will need when I reach further stages, for now the only thing I don't have time to do that I could use help with would be affirming whether or not Cube of fate is working properly in the current release... I was under the impression it was, tytyt said it is not:
Are this all files to make a working Perfect world Private server plz fast answer
You could start w/ looking @:
Cube of Fate - PWpedia
PWI - Cube of Fate - Room 1: Fate's Beginning - YouTube
I've only ever done CoF myself up to room 50 (both in official PW and for P server), never really tested anything above room 50 though, so I'm wondering if that's not what tytyt is talking about... Though I could have sworn even the current release (the current 'live' links) CoF works [at least up until room 50]...
So, it would be great if you could verify whether CoF works or not in the current release... I would highly appreciate it :):
~~
Also, I hope that tytyt will chime back in and be more specific since I was able to search through the thread and find all this ('evidence' that points to CoF working just fine):
05-09-11
06-09-11
21-09-11
21-09-11
(and I do vividly remember changing those mob IDs too)
And then nothing has been said about the cube of fate between 21-09-11 and 3 Days Ago.
So, either CoF has been working just fine since 21-09-11, or something has been overlooked, not just by me but by the other people who were looking forward to a functional cube...
So right now I could really use the testing, and/or tytyt to chime back in and be more specific about the problem you've encountered...
343, trying to make the screenshots, but 7 times fall into the 18 rooms, is a dead end
http://s020.radikal.ru/i709/1302/b8/ded4a86416dbt.jpg
I do not know where to find these Robber cards
Actually that is correct tytyt, see here: Cube of Fate - PWpedia
Quote:
Room 18 - Not enough Yet
Upon entering the room, you're given 9 Robber cards, but you need 10 to Pass. If you don't have 10, just teleport out and start over or wait for someone else to enter and try to trade for one of their cards, or buy one from a catshop if there is one set up. If you do have 10, you can trade them in and get a die.
To make Robber Card from Do-All cards, just talk to the NPC there and pick "Exchange option". It costs just one to make it.
(Look at bottom of page to make this into cash profit).
Note: Robber Cards disappear upon leaving cube.
343, thanks of course, but does not apply. Well finally passed, all 2 quests invalid:
http://s020.radikal.ru/i721/1302/3c/27f31f9e4635t.jpg
343, offer my deepest apologies, I reinstalled the server, quests work, mysticism
You can delete my posts.
It's no problem. I wont delete them though (then I'd have to start deleting responses that would make no sense without your posts etc...), and of course I take all reports seriously no matter what the outcome
I am glad you were able to resolve this, and that it wasn't the package though :):
So, next :thumbup1:
1. In your npcgen a12 do not have these boxes
http://s019.radikal.ru/i607/1302/8d/75d79fc7fc1et.jpg
http://s017.radikal.ru/i434/1302/91/b0c72f32ac6b.png
2. In the tasks.data input level - 150, in npc - level 40
http://s017.radikal.ru/i431/1302/b1/266265246d5ct.jpg
Now that's an instance I've never done (therefore know nothing about)...
I've even done the new "ruins", just not that one :(:
I also did not know, but npcgen's from old server help of the ancient building, unfortunately there just to A26. If you could not download, i can reupload, may be interested.
Well there is still much to strive, you could return the dungeon more amplified form, also to repair the old and add the new A01, repair a12.
Sadly I am not very well versed at a01 or a12... So if you wanted to see anything done you would need to be very specific... It's very well possible this next 'update' will (highly likely) be the last one ever... So if there's anything, anyone, would like to see included ~ now would be the time to speak up
Minimap from different client versions of nothing mean? In the old A01 was only 1 room

How to add a script gold when registering? Adds a string of other registration accounts, the page stops working.
I know the old a01 was only one 'room', the new one has four... I don't know if, or think that really matters... The map/mini maps work just fine... I am also not concerned about any 'quests' to get in to a01 or a12, as I've added region [trans] zones to get in to both a01 and a12... Aside that, I don't really know a01 or a12 as being 'broken'... I just don't happen to have any knowledge on them since I've never done them before (in their old OR new form)... All I do know is there are mobs inside and they appear to be functioning/functional. I also have not changed anything in a01 or a12, so if anything is 'broken' that roots back to the source of where I had obtained them...
So if there is anything wrong with a01 or a12, I would like to know, but since I know nothing about them I would have to know in very precise detail. I will also admit, since a12 is just a "puzzle", and a01 is, well, whatever it is (puzzle/race or whatever you want to call it), they will certainly not be my #1 priority (right now my #1 priority is re-writing how the entire package installs)...
