Where is says " only do once " is that per install? EG, 136, 131 then 146? Or is it only once total?

And Does installing next version auto update all files?

Well, tried all the G Shop editing tools in package, none work. None link with pwdatabase and none will save any info. Only 1 actually loaded on win 8. will try in a linux vbox tomoz....

On Side note, anyone have a working Gshop editor and G Shop server maker? Like the one in the package? For 1.5.1 as well as others? Also if they will work in windows or only in linux? currently going through Killers thread and will start on others tomoz :(

simply install it (every server uses they own folders, example ; 151 uses PWServer151 , 136 uses PWServer136.. and so on)

client and server uses different gshops, client side saves text,descriptions, id, values, etc
server side only saves id and values
343 package dont have 151 editor, you must dowload the lastest one from http://code.google.com/p/pw-tools/
and you use the safe function client for client and server for server
gshop editor works on windows

1. Lets say u want 146 server running for ur desire PW, all you need is 136 then 146.. skip 131, u dont need them.. unless u want them all-in-1, install everything in the release, but u can only run 1 server at the time.

2. Yes, its auto-update on server files. Lets make an example, the 1st server you have to install is 136, and then 146.. the server files will be 146 when u runs it. unless u want to run 136 after installing 146, u have to start 136 manually by linux command (unless someone else knows more efficient way than what I just told u)

3. About tweaking the files, u mean overpowered stats like this?

If u does, u dont have to edit element.data or update server or anything.. All u need is "itemhexgen" google it, there's a lot of way for you to download, or u can use hexgen included in 343 release (from the pw_dev.iso). u just have to edit XML in pwAdmin, how to do it? search this thread, there's so many answers in this thread about XML hex editing.

6. Yes I do have the working gshop for 146, not 151 (Im not sure if it does working for 151, but my gshop works really well with 146 by 343). And like Caosfox said, it works on windows, that included the gshop editor prepared by 343 in his release, u just have to try every single 1 of them which does works for u, in my case "GShop Editor 144 v2" works like a charm.

This gshop is the exact PWI gshop, so yeah, no mold or "hard-to-get" gear mats u can get from this gshop, my suggestion would be, edit them urself. ^_^

Gshop isn't hard once you know how to work with it. Gshop editors are overall the same except for the one that is from <1.3.6 from 1.4.4+ they all use the same editor as i use the current Gshop program that i have already for various versions of the game (1.45 and above).

You just have to make sure that you make the client gshop into server sided gshop nothing more nothing less.

Ok I am not new here I just cant remember the login to my old account and I need some info. My greatest apologies if it has been answered and I missed it somewhere in my searches but I previously had a server running on the old 136 package I am looking to install the new one. I noticed the boutique has been taken out. My question is if I install just the 136 version is it still there and in the new one have the boutique items been added as shop items somewhere or the system been adjusted for game game play without it?

If u have the old 136 client which the 1 that have working gshop, copy the gshop.data from it, paste it somewhere. And then u are good to go for installing the new 136 server and client. With the gshop.data u copied earlier, open GShop editor to save the data into gshopsev.data. After u're done, get them both to ur client and u're server, and u should good to go with a working gshop like the old 136.

Thanks a lot man thats helpful I should still have it ive got a backup of my old server speaking of which i am trying to dl the old client off of 4 shared for archival purposes in case it comes in handy for someone here it keeps downloading it as a .001 then telling me the file is damaged is that normal are the old links broken now?

I left the old links in place and plan to indefinitely. Just have to keep tryin till it succeeds =\

The old links works just fine for me. .001 means they're split file. You need to download whole of them and extract into 1 file.

I have everything uploaded again but I cant seem to remember how to do the step for installing lammp and the sql dbs anymore. If anyone remembers how to do this please let me know,. Any idea how to fixed this? I've been trying to even using the most complex name yet still failed.. like "pw8v7d1bk" as a name, yet still cant creating a new char. And some of the account cant create at all, tried with the phpmyadmin.. but kinda lost what Im doing, all I did managed is reach the dbo and checking the char existed in db..

I have absolutely no clue if this will help as I got kicked off before I got to the point of editing character names. But here is the original work I did on names definitions and lengths back before the army took my dev time from me. http://forum.ragezone.com/f695/chang...LLCC=134344488 if someone else doesn't pick this up I intend to delv back into how the names for the characters work once I am operational again. Wipe ur database and i don't think you can include numbers in your Character name by default.

Well, the account registration is fine, nothing mess coming out from them. The problem is creating new characters.. its not disconnected gamedbd or whatever error, but instead, naming the character is becoming a problem. They keep showing "There is alrdy a char by this name" and when I checked the roles in phpmyadmin, there is no duplicating name. Even creating with a complex random name with numbers and alphabets, still the same mesg shown up, "There is alrdy a char by this name". So, any clue whats wrong? before I decide doing the clean install all over again (well I can do that though, problem is, Im asking because of my sense of curiosity if someone out there knows the way to fixed it, and in case its happening again, will just fixed it rather than losing everything that included time wasted).

Got it, I think database been a total damaged after using the plugin in iWeb.. Send Mail.. and caused this problem. Lesson learned, had no choice but to make a total clean up, since trying to back up and replace in the clean install also dragging this mess. So the only option left for me is to do another total clean install and losing all the previous database. Hopefully someone can come up with the plugin problem "Send Mail", since its kinda good plugin for devs like sending a gift or something to players. Thanks again for helping.

Okay, it looks like I /will/ be doing a 151 addon for this package after all. Despite my desire to stay away from this bloody game there are two major contributing factors to me deciding to "do" a 151 addon. In no particular order, I have a RL friend who is REALLY annoying, and happens to be very computer illiterate (and would like to run this package, but, 151 @.@) - and another was the recognition I got while playing on RaGECRAFT last night.

its not "inactivated"... the boutique shop is there, the reason they not appearing is because they're empty. Now, what u going to do is edit the gshop.data in client folder, copy them somewhere and use gshopedit in PW_Dev.iso to edit them. After ur done editting, save them (gshop.data for client, gshopsev.data for server) and paste them both in client and server. Done, ur good to go. If ur lazy editting, do the search button, quite many of gshop.data in this thread available for download and use.

343 does the new version store the passwords different from the old version?

No, passwords are the same across all versions too so that the ONE db can be used for all versions/addons :wink:

Just a couple of questions. I am going to be setting this up in vmware to check it out but. Is there some sort of replacement for the cash shop an npc or something in this release already or do I need to build one and is it possible to just use the installers to say install on a dedicated server where i cant do a complete os install from the included img?

No I haven't done anything different with adding/removing NPC's, although I still "blanked" the gshop.

Technically you /can/ run (install) on a server where you may not have direct version control of the OS (IE the *required* v12.04.3). There is an UNSUPPORTED command flag for that. I have to say "unsupported" because if someone uses said command flag to force an installation yet it doesn't work, I plan to NOT offer "help" with that. Though the command is included for those who "know what they're doing" (such as - for example - someone installing to a rented dedicated server machine with Ubuntu 12.04.5 instead of 12.04.3)...

So, to see a list of all available command flags for the installation type "./install-pw --help"

Its works on every OS, but if ur saying about the running and hosting servers, u need ubuntu for it. Its included in the 1st post.


P/S:- For those whos "wants/trying/attempting" to change the exp/drop/sp/money drop rates for 151, well u cant.. I tried.. ptemplate only takes active for drop and money rates, exp and sp remains standard rates. So my suggestion would be, change the team party exp rates instead, in the same file, ptemplate.conf.. over-rates will make it not working at all, in my case, my team party exp rates is;

I am using the latest Tasks editor in your package, am currnetly using PWI 1.5.1 V 101, however your tasks editor when saving starts at 105...


Would this be a reason for server crashing? incompatable tasks.data and server files? Or am I editing RB / Nirvy / TT entry reqs wrong?

Thanks for helping in my issue but the commands you gave do not work...

Regarding your issue, you probably forced turned off your virtual machine while the maps were loading in pwAdmin, and now they are corrupt and they can not load.

Instructions:

Perfect World Private - ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤

This is a complete package of the game "Perfect World" for PC

The server from this package runs on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS x64
The client runs on WinXP+ operating systems
There is also a 'tools' disc included (pw_dev.iso) so that one can modify the server/client to their liking

The server has been made a simple and straightforward installation. All you have to do to install the server is mount/burn the ISO and run the corresponding installation for it. "./install-pw" will install v136, "./install-131" will install v131, "./install-146" will install v146, and "./install-fw" will install fw(v0517). v136 is the "base" package and REQUIRED to install any of the "addons" which include v131, v146, and fw(v0517). All can be installed at the same time but they cannot be ran simultaneously (only one can be ran at a time). There is a service included to switch between the active installed versions called pwversion (merely type "service pwversion" in the Linux terminal to switch between active versions). These can also be installed as a system service/daemon (if you have a worthy system [with enough RAM]) so that there is NO human interaction required to boot up the server besides pressing the power button (or starting up the virtual machine). Note: If you don't have a good enough system or just don't desire to run as a system service/daemon you can simply navigate a web browser to your server @ http://your.server.ip.address/admin to start one game map at a time. The servers HTTPD, MySQL, Tomcat, etc, are all started automatically no matter what (for this reason). If your servers IP changes (for any reason), use "./ipset.sh" located in /root/ to change the IP configurations that were set during the installation.

The client doesn't really need 'instructions' whatsoever, just mount/burn the ISO and install, then it's ready to launch/play. You only need to set the IP of the server to connect to in serverlist.txt (server.lua for FW). For more advanced users there is an auto patcher (CPW) with this package and the two files: updateserver.txt and mainuni.xml also need the IP of the server set in them for the patcher to work.

There is an entire WEALTH of knowledge about this package in a file called "adminnotes.txt" that can actually be found in two locations. A copy of adminnotes.txt is included with pw_dev.iso in a directory named AdminNotes and with the v136 base installation package in /root/notes/

Some of the more technical aspects/details:

This (server) package (and all of the 'addons') *MUST* be installed as the root user/account of Linux!

This (server) package MUST be installed on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS x64 (included)!

Ports (what ports this package will utilize):
-29000 this is the game port (server-client game communications)
-80 a basic website that is ran on the server so that accounts can be registered (and more even including a help desk)
-8080 a tomcat JSP container for the above website and administrator controls
-3306 the MySQL database for user accounts (should not be open to WAN if running a public server)

Default passwords (CaSe SeNsItIvE):
MySQL = username:root password:root (access from localhost ONLY)
MySQL = username:pwAdmin password:root (access from ANY host)[ie... for BatGM, or Navicat]

Yes, there is a chance you also might have corrupted other files by force shut down.

I also recommend to send a shutdown signal when closing the virtual machine instead of forcing it to turn off. This way you will keep your data from corruption hence the server health will be preserved.

I finally had a success and i tried 1.3.1 and it works :D With all Maps, why it says 16GB if i run it with 3 GB RAM and it still works ó.ó ?
Well, 1.5.1 isnt working after all, i get the same error even after reinstall from the whole Server and i really mean whole, deleted everything and started again with the ubuntu server 12.04.3 iso

I just wanted to really thank 343 for this amazing job.
After some research (because I am a complete newbie with Linux) I have installed a fully functional Perfect World server on my machine.
Actually I installed it on a both VMWare and Virtualbox until I was really comfortable with the installation.
Now I found a real server and I will install it on a little Dell server for friends and myself to play with. Now I try to understand how to configure the server to really do what I expect.

So thank you again for this opportunity to learn a bit and play a lot.

Yes it works, first I installed the original package (PW 136) and then i installed the PW 151 package.
Then I can switch from versions using the command "service pwversion 151" or "service pwversion 136".
Everything worked fine, I even tried to install all the PW packages so I can switch between version 131, 136, 146 and 151. Unfortunately I also added the FW package to try and I got MySQl error.

So I can confirm if you first install pw-136-server_07.JAN.2014-ubuntu12.04.3_amd64 and then pw-151-server_07.JAN.2014-ubuntu12.04.3_amd64 you will have a fonctional Perfect World 1.5.1 server running.

How much RAM did you allocated?

I allocated 8 Go, juste juste starter world map, mal 62 ans a couple of others fort thé moment.

PWServer runs in a VirtualBox. Hosting machine is a dual Xeon 5440 with 20 Go RAM. I allocated 8 Go RAM ans 2 processors for the PW VirtualBox. The server also hosts a Lineage II server. Anyway I think the CPU type is not really relevant for hosting a small server.

Anyone else noticed you can't do the XML editing stuff on the 1.5.1 release @ pwAdmin?
1. This issue remains on XML Mode once you check a character and want to edit this.
2. The Edit XML Plugin does show the XML data, claims it has "saved" the data... But this claim is actually misplaced since it isn't saved at all.

No idea what I'm missing at this part?

All the releases are working for me. Your downloaded files are probably corrupted... Did you check the MD5 codes of your files with the ones provided by 343?

The Edit XML is only for 1.4.5, 1.4.6 and 1.4.7 only...

I tried eveything and I still couldnt edit my XML data. Making a private server is useless without being able to edit your character. So I use 146 instead, everything works in 146.

I've used both VMWare and VirtualBox and I never faced any problems with authd.

As for your guide, a lot of things are going on at the same time.

If you aren't going to make the server public, there is no point on going though all of this, just use linux's local IP instead.

Using the command line is very confusing and requires a lot of thinking. OpenSSH server should be a must.

Why are you also turning off IPv6? IPv6 doesn't affect my authd with any means.

As for manually editing the IP address, do you know there is a command in the root folder which fixes the IP adresses?

All the releases are working for me. Your downloaded files are probably corrupted... Did you check the MD5 codes of your files with the ones provided by 343?

@Marvin344 1.4.6 is in English. I believe you and @Regano missed some steps in installing Ubuntu. I would start with http://forum.ragezone.com/f452/compl...0/#post6233360 first. Read every step carefully and use the video as your guide. If you can successfully make the server work then move on to 1.4.6 and 1.5.1.

For WinSCP problems check if you have installed the SSH service by typing apt-get install openssh-server

in certain linux versions you can't log in your server from root of the SSH by default, then you have to change those restrictions manually in the VMware first, then you can log in with root from SSH

Firstly, for fixing SSH do the following command with root priveleges "sudo apt-get install openssh-server".

Secondly, pwAdmin was designed to be worked from 1.2.6, since 1.5.1 is an add-on on 1.3.6 and 1.3.6 is based on 1.2.6 there are compatibility issues, therefore editing XML Data and server rates do not work

Lastly, you are using Perfect World's original client without modifications, you need to use the client provided in the thread.

Add: and for those talking about XML & 151, I thought I said it somewhere, don't know though - NO I could not get the XML editor for 151 to work in pwAdmin, but if I recall correctly you CAN use iWeb to edit XML (still) for 151. So if you want to edit toon/XML use iweb.

I got a couple of VPS with 512 ram ssd Debian. Will this install in Debian without a problem? Where can I directly download those files to my VPS. I will be willing also to host those files so it can be downloaded directly.

There are options for installing on non ubuntu server 12.04.3, but technically I don't "support" them. Type ./install-pw --h to see a list of all possible command line options. You will need to force the installation as it requires and checks for (specifically) ubuntu server 12.04.3 x64. There's no reason it shouldn't or wont work, but again, I do not "support" if you use the force command line flag to get it to install (IE: someone says "I've installed on XYZ [not ubuntu server 12.04.3 x64] and ABC happened, can you help me?" the answer will be "no" =\)
