@343 With your release I am having a problem with the Importing Roles to MySQL Failed on the character page. I have tried doing some of the edits that are posted here in the forums but none of them seems to help. Any suggestions?
The creditials are right as I can access everything but when I try and sync the database, I can manually enter character account ID's and bring up characters.
I would try iweb but i get a lot of CGI server errors on a lot of things and I have not messed with any settings from 343's release at all other then entering in the IP and Lan IP as requested in setup.
343 can you help me make pw server 1.3.6? but i have no idea to make it after i download the files where would i start?

I have tried everything I can think of and also searched the forums here for a solution on accounts failing to create characters.
What happened was I used 343's 1.3.6 release for a while then upgraded to 1.4.6. I restored from a backup from the 1.3.6 server to recover the SQL database account information. I took the character's gamedb from 1.3.6 and copied them over to 1.4.6 and this allows the players to log into their old characters. However the problem resides in that new characters are not able to be created on new accounts and old accounts get the error message character name already in use.
I have tried deleting the uniquename database and that didnt work. I tried using a backup of the clsconfig within the gamedbd to see if that would fix the problem. Nothing seems to fix the problem. I even went as far as taking the gamedb creating a backup of the character files and removing them from the server. Starting it back up fresh and then coping the files back again.
I could really use some insight on how to fix this because right now its really hindering the server.
Edit* I even tried doing a database restore on the character database to see if that was the problem and it still did not work. I keep seeing the message dbcreaterole: failed right after the dbcreaterole is sent as a post to PostCreateRole to uniqueserver. I even tried deleting the uniquename database to see if that had anything to do with it and still did not work. However when I wipe the database and start empty i am then able to create a character as if nothing was wrong.
I fixed all earlier problems but now this one really has be baffled. Shut down the server to do a patch and now when the server was relaunched Factions have been hidden as well as mail can not be sent to anyone without it coming up with erroneous letter information.
I did search the forums but could not find anything that helped with this problem.
I am using 343's release and everything was working fine before this patch today. Is it possible that I forgot something or edited something wrong that caused it to happen?
Database corrupt
What would cause the database to corrupt, as whats weird is I did a restore and then the gamedb is working, then as the rest of the server loads the gamebd dies. I check the gamebd log and there is nothing there.
Hey first post here. Firstly thank you so much 343 I am a total noob and after about a week of research and basically cursing the gods I have an active 1.5.1 server running. It was mostly self inflicted as I am such a noob... Now my real question that I really need some help from anyone on is there is a lot of talk about the gshop and how easy it is to get back into the game including several boasts at successful integration from multitudes of gshops that are ready made to put in however... I am unable to download any of the links given and I must say I am either too stupid or the files are missing from the links can anyone give me either a working gshop or explain what commands are needed to add items to it as the dev.iso is not working for me at all have burned it, tried to mount it, sung it a lullaby even bought it a drink and still have no luck with it. I have a separate computer running the server and am planning on acquiring a new server in November that can actually run all the game at once. I thank you all for your help in advance. I have looked through posts and have followed many links but to no avail, if you are able to enlighten me I will be eternally grateful. Also the server is for me and my 5 friends and my fiancee not a public gig at all was a gm in a private server and will never repeat that experience even for money.
I have a question I know this has been talked about but my question is as follows,
Is it possible to switch characters from one account to another and if it is how. I have tried using the XML editor to change the status of the userid to the account that it should be move to but it stays on the account that it was. Is there something that I am missing?
you should play with gamedbd. be carefull its risky thing. so always make backup from your db files

The IP Log on 343's release of the pwAdmin the IP log use to work and not its timing out on a fresh install of the server files is there something that I missed to cause it to work? Reason I am asking is because I dont remember doing anything to those files before and it worked fine

Its ok, I did a little backwards research on it and I got it working. I had to edit .userconfig.jsp and it was all working again. I really should not try to work on 30 projects at one time.
This is more to 343 since I am using his 1.4.6 release. I have tried to figure out how to start Nation War on our server and have come up empty handed. I made server the map was open when the nation war was suppose to start but no one on the server was able to enter. So I did a little research here in the forums and saw a lot of talk about having channels setup or something. Really did not make a lot of sense to me so I am asking here.

You will need to do more than simply make sure the correct maps are started/open in order to get NW "active" in my release (it's not active by default even if all of the proper maps are open).
To do this simply edit gamesys.conf for gdeliveryd, the very last category of information is what you're looking for to "activate" it (country battle) :wink: [more specifically you're looking to alter the line "is_countrybattle_open"]
Thank you 343, Love your release and have been doing a lot of fun things with it and the players I have love it as well. They were asking about NW and I tried to "activate it" by having the maps open at the right time but did not know about the setting within the gamesys.conf you have my thanks again. BTW I took your backup script and restore script and altered them for the new server version on my own :)
Ok I just ran across a unique problem...
I upgraded my server system and installed a brand new hard drive. Installed the server information and everything with no problems. I took the database backup that I created just before the maintenance. When I restore that backup I try to create a new character and now it says character name already used.
What I do not get is that the uniquename database should not have any names taken as the restore does not restore the unique name database.

I tried running those commands on my test server that I have a backup of the database to make sure I didn't mess anything up on my main server.

After running both commands when I launched the test server, I logging in to create a new character it said "there is already a character with this name."
I am still at a loss as to what to try now.
Edit: did a little more research, when I checked the uniquenamed database it shows nothing being listed its almost as if the uniquenamed database isn't being updated with the character database information. regardless of those two commands being ran. Is there a way to maybe force the information to update?

What could cause the pack quest to que up as not enough bag space when there is more then half the bag available for space?
Also is there a way to fix the playerpanel that was released by Bola to match the account ID's with the correct character ID's for some odd reason when I try to use his shop the characters that are displayed are not on the account at all.
for example the account ID is 1296 but the character ID is 1040, is there a way to correct it so that the account ID points to the right character ID's?

FW server
I have been happily playing 151 for ages now, but really wanted to play Forsaken World again, just for fun. Remembering that 343 had an FW package in here I decided to give it a try......
First up, I used VirtualBox (5.0.10) on my Windows 10 pc.
Ubtuntu installed really easily as it has many times before from 343's iso.
Then I found that Virtual Box simply refused to mount the pw and fw server iso's downloaded from mega.nz
The error is the same one you get for a corrupted iso, but Windows 10 was happy to open them. Odd.
It turned out that VirtualBox had decided to be quite strict with mounting iso's in recent releases. (You can google it - something to do with an iso needing to be a multiple of 2048 bytes.)
So I used Windows to extract the files and then ImgBurn to repackage them as an iso. Then I was able to mount them and install the 136 and the fw servers from the iso mount point.
After I looked hard I then saw that fw had to be installed as a service.
After that it all worked, except that the fw client is not compatible with Windows 10. Oh well, at least I have an old laptop :)
The only reason for this post is in case someone has problems with the mega downloads and VirtualBox.
I am new as you can tell by the date I joined I am attempting the 151 server all has gone well I got Gshop running and CWP working maps are good but I ran in to 1 little problem when I double click on the Launch.exe or the patcher.exe it fires up does the proper update every thing work and then it says click start to launch game like it is suppose to now here is the problem I click start and the patcher disappears like it is suppose to but and the game don't launch the only way I can launch game is using the startbypatcher game:cpw nocheck command for some reason the patcher is not connected to the elementclient.exe to launch game can someone tell me what I need to do to get the start button working in patcher

If you use the DB (dbo) from this release you wont have that issue. That is an old issue with the old DB that was set to create the first account as ID=32, so you'd wind up with mismatched accounts and toons. The current version (DB) of this release the first account AND first toon is 1024.
If you're having problems with the pwAdmin password you can reset it manually by editing .pwadminconf.jsp @ /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/webapps/pwAdmin/WEB-INF/
As indicated in that file "63a9f0ea7bb98050796b649e85481845" is the default password ("root")
If it's not the password itself that's the issue, then it's a dynamic IP issue - make sure your server uses a STATIC IP!

If you have it working 100% locally on your LAN, then this is a simple networking issue :wink: IE: I have no clue what your issue would be without being in/on your LAN! One of the most common issues I've seen or heard of is people not setting their server machine (or VM) to be a STATIC IP (you do NOT want dynamic because then you have to reconfigure upon every reboot/every new IP reassignment)... The second biggest "problem" would be not having the proper ports forwarded to the proper IP (again, if running a dynamic IP, port forwarding also has to be reconfigured upon every reboot or IP reassignment!); assuming your server is behind a router, you have to forward the proper ports to the proper (server) IP...

your #4 is wrong, in a VM you want bridged/replicate a physical network connection so that the VM has it's own IP separate from the host OS.
it can works if network provider gives more IP then one. like UPC in Hungary
I'm not sure that using NAT in a VM could work. Maybe there is a way, but not that I'm aware of, and I've never tried. But when you set the VM to NAT your HOST and GUEST OS's share the same IP. So maybe it could be done if there's a way to make sure it's the "guest OS" that received traffic from port 29000 etc... I'd assume IF this was possible, this would be configured somewhere in the VM host (vmware/vbox etc). Much easier to use bridged so that your VM receives it's own IP and truly acts and behaves like a separate physical machine. However, yes, if your ISP only provides one public IP, and you're NOT behind a router - bridged would not work either (but then again, who has internets and no router)!? It would still work if you weren't "behind a router" and your ISP provides more than one public IP... of course... Like you said.
The most simple (and likely common) set up is as follows:
INTERNETS (modem) => ROUTER => Physical PC (ex-192.168.1.1) => VM (bridged ex-192.168.1.2)
Of course some ISP's devices aren't mere modems any longer, and they're actually "gateways" - which for anyone who doesn't know, is actually pretty much a modem and router in one... Many even w/ wifi built in too! This is why I say it's almost unbelievable that anyone, especially now-a-days, would be running a network w/o a router! Especially since that would mean they have only ONE PC hooked up to the "interwebs"! (or more than one public IP available to use [but even then they'd still need a switch/hub])

I used your DB, or at least I think i did when i installed 1.4.6 how can i be sure? if that is the case? also would it not cause problems if people create accounts and not create toons on them as well?
Just updating my last post I finally got PW 151 up and running every thing runs great I only have 1 problem left at least so far and that is in the PWServer/151/gamed/config/world folder there are 3 files npcgen.dat and npcgen.data and npcgen.data.bk now the npcgen.data file works with client but I cannot edit it to add new NPCs I get LOADING ERROR! invalidArgument=Value of'1870" is not valid for'index' so I renamed it and changed npcgen.data.bk to just npcgen.data and I tried to edit it and I got LOADING ERROR invalidArgument=Value of'1753' is not valid for'index' so I renamed it back to npcgen.data.bk and move on to the next one named npcgen.dat and added the (a) making it npcgen.data tried to open and success it worked the problem is that file is missing a good bit of NPCs so i have to manually add NPCs that should already be active now the original npcgen.data file has all the NPCs active and it does work just fine with client but i cant edit it or add new NPCs the npcgen.dat file after adding the (a) making it npcgen.data has a lot of the NPCs and i can edit and add new NPCs but there is still a lot of NPCs missing that i have to put in manualy so is there any npcedit.exe that will read the original npcgen.data file so i can edit and add the new NPCs i want and not have as many missing NPCs that i have to manually add because the 2 npcgen editor and the 1 sNPCedit in the dev_PWtools.iso will not read it for some reason thank you vary much in advance for any help or downloads that you can offer
I might be wrong with this but I believe for sNPCedit to work properly it will need the offsets of the game version that you are trying to use. I do not know if anyone has shared that information at this time but I believe that is what the problem is.

Ok you all here is a little gift from me I do not know how to start a new thread so I am putting it here this is for PW1.5.1 but it may work for other PWs to IDK anyway I am sure some of you have noticed in when using PWHexGen that you max up a Soulsphere just to find out that now your Psychic cant use any of its skills now so I took some time to create a HEX code for Soulsphere if it does not have the stats you want let me know an I will see about creating another one anyway this is the Hex code for the SoulSphere I sure hope it helps some one.........

Could use a little help on this one,
I am testing 151 on a test server, but the problem that I am running into is this when the Shadowskull Lich within Warsong is killed it does not spawn the Attendant NPC that allows you to summon the Vile: Shadowskull Lich. I have checked the tasks.data, npcgen.data, as well as the elements.data to make sure everything is right, however I am not finding anything that deals with the death of the boss to summon the NPC. is there another location where that information could be stored and used?
Also is there a way to make custom AIpolicy rules for custom mobs so they don't end up having to say the same thing that something else says for example the snowman.

Open aipolicy search for the boss ai entry. Look for if_dead condition. Check npcgen start condition. Open npcgen and look for this trigger....

OK I am at a total loss here, with 146 I was able to edit and alter the boutique and event boutique with no issues what so ever. I took a fresh install of 151 and added some items to the boutique. I saved it like I would for 146 but the client comes up with version to low. I went even went back to the originals that came with the server and client and it still comes up with version too low... I do not know whats going on could use a little help.

I just don't understand what I am doing wrong that would cause it to not work. I mean everything I have read is that the 144 editor works for 151 and people have stated that they were using it without problems.
I even went as far as trying another p servers, boutique with elements.data and tasks.data from the client to see if it was maybe something I did. But I saved the boutique like I normally would. Server loads up like it should but I still get client version low please patch.

Well i figured out my problem, I changed the aipolicy on the server to fix the shadowskull lich from not reappearing. Now when I put the original aipolicy back into the server the unedited one it works fine. So this tells me that the client needs the same aipolicy? If this is the case where is it located so I can do farther tests?

I have come across a rather interesting problem, I was trying to add additional NPCs within a guild base however when I do the names of the NPC are yellow when the rest of the NPCs names are blue and when you try and talk to the NPC you get an attack cursor instead of the chat cursor.
I have tried checking the NPC's that are already currently within the guild base compaired to mine and I do not see any differences other then the names are coming up yellow instead of blue as the others are. What is it that I am missing to cause the name difference?

I think i found it upon farther inspection of the Faction Manager who is a working NPC within the Guild Base I noticed the id_src_monster was 30647 where as the other NPCs id_src_monster was 2111.
I install the Client 1.5.1. It can connect to server.
I can create user, select user.
But I can not play when I Click [Start] for play, it went to login again.
Please help me to fix it.

That is the same issue I have with the patcher, I have not figured out a fix for it atm, but I have been told that its dealing with the patcher itself.

Oh sorry I misread the post, my problem is specifically that when I launch the patcher it will patch normally, however when I click start to launch the client it loops back to the patcher again. so its different from what chaidhanan has.
Also I remember seeing somewhere a live chat that actually had players names and different filters that you could select as well as how many lines of chat you wished to see. I do not remember where I saw it as I used it but lost it in a hard drive crash.
What is the lowest version what have bh/ws weapons/mini wb and normal world boss and chrono world? 142? Or can be added to this 136?
you can have BH/WS weapons/and bosses in 136 does not have to be 1.4.2 also chrono is part 136 as well. But a word of causion 136 is a little buggy.
There is NO proper 136 server release anywhere.

Well maybe I misunderstood what you meant by WS Weapons, if you mean Warsoul then yes if you mean warsong then no. I do not believe warsong came out till 1.4.2 or 1.4.6 (which we have access to as I do am not sure if you have access to 1.4.2 here). As for removing classes from the client I believe it was tried by others in the community but was not able to do it and I looked into what they did but was not able to produce any results other then what they had come up with.
I do know 343's 136 release came with chrono as well as warsoul weapons and was able to make bosses as well as custom mini boss's either being a world boss or an elite mob type boss. It also had access to the BH as well.

well idk if these are original ws weapons, if i remember well no attack level at all in 1.3.6, neither on ws weapons neither at character stat, warsong city was before tideborn race - same lv79/100 skills and genies...
atleast in pw ms it was before tideborn (because they never get tideborn at all), i guess u meant nirvana in 1.4.2 or 1.4.6 because that was later. mini boss ain't in 1.3.6 or maybe not enabled? idk but i checked the spots

PWI -> 1.3.6 -> 1.4.0 -> 1.4.2v27 -> 1.4.2v29 so on
MS -> 1.3.1 -> 1.3.6 -> 1.3.9 -> DIE
most of thing in 1.3.9 and 1.4.0 is the same

THERE IS NO 1.3.6 serverfiles released ANYWHERE. what we have is: 1.2.6 -> 1.3.1 ->1.4.2 ++++++
I am not arguing with you hycker, I was just basing on what he labeled as the release number I do not know what its based off of but I knew it wasn't 1.3.6 as it leased TB with it as well.
But I do have a question for you directly Hycker, would you happen to know where a copy of the live chat that displayed player names instead of the character IDs is?

Well he pointed before the tide born was several patch, not 1-2, even genies stat/skill was update 3x, from that PW ms got 2 already with ws weapons and warsong/oht still before tide born, I want recreate this because not exist (I think) this pre tideborn version, or even who have this mixed server files don't share it (who shared long ago have broken links)
This PW version was the most balanced.

If I am not mistaken the races are from the client exe and its not easy as 343 and a couple others tried to remove them from the client being selected. I do recall reading that 343 was able to remove the names but the classes were still there in the client as a playable class. I am not sure if you can physically remove them from the client or not but I do know you can lock classes from logging into the server.
U can remove the option when u select the races , not sure in 1.5.1+ but anyway is extremely hard to find the correct offset (Bola way), idk how to find a short potentional range because else how i noticed could takes age to find out, its about the change the max class when client use pager (when u use left/right arrow during selecting race u can force after 3rd race go back to1st instead to 4th, well its sound nice but element client.exe over 20mb and a thousand+++ times have there the 04/05 value if we open with hexeditor but if I know this wayatleasthave chance to remove)
Since no one help just have empty promise I try do the 1.4.2 -> 1.3.9 myself with info what ican get and if i have success then i post the package.
