you need to make a file in the element folder of the client, and name it something.bat and inside type:
start elementclient.exe console:1
You also need to make sure that in the ptemplate.conf that you have debugging enabled (remove the ; before the start of the line)
when we put IP in installation for dedicated server what we should put on LAN and WAN ?
I found that the ip inputted into the that part of the installation does not change anything for me, however it does say, i believe first ip should be LAN and the second should be WAN

See if that's the cause, normally negative infamy will cause your characters name to turn blue, and while attacking other players it'll turn yellow.
If you look at your character within the game, it'll show you your infamy count as well, it should be in the negative with blue colored numbers.
This is the only case I've heard of when it comes to blue colored names.
Someone please please help me I have ran into a problem, pwAdmin problem to be exact, I put my ip and stuff in logged in fine went to server control pressed start, then only Auth started none else, it was like this for like an hour then I pressed stop to try reset it and it's still online please help :(:

to Jazza123 open Ubuntu and type cd /PWServer/151 then type ./start_full.sh or ./start_min.sh to start server works better btw it is all in command terminal also replace 151 with what ever version you are using if not 151 that is lol

Well hello and thank you for such an awesome release, i just wonder if its just me or its has happened to anyone else that in pwAdmin the chars page doesnt show chars but everything else so i tried to sync it and it just stays there working but doesnt bring anything up just gets stuck there like trying to sync, also the server config page doesnt load any data, everything else works perfect so im assuming its not a mysql connection problem, might it be the database itself? im running the server on a non virtual machine.
okay thats my little doubt about my issue if anyone could give me a hint maybe its so simple i cant think of it .

I have the 151 server from this package up and running without many issues. I have located a bug with the Earth boss in Warsong City, but that's an enigma for a different time. I have been trying to get the boutique operating. I know that I must edit gshop.data, gshop1.data, gshopsev.data, and gshopsev1.data. The issue is that the sGSHOPedit included in the tools is incapable of editing 1.5.1 gshop.data files. I've done some research, and people say it's possible to use gshop.data files from a 1.4.4 client to update the 1.5.1 clients. I have not gotten to the point where I can attempt this. First, a 1.4.4 client is not included in this package, and 1.4.6 doesn't work. Second, I can not find a single source that still works to download the 1.4.4 client. And Finally, there are zero active tutorial videos on editing gshop.data files. Included in this package is three gshopedit programs. One will not work at all because of impossible to install on my system VB6 control files. One looks like the one I'm supposed to use to edit 1.4.4 files. And, the last one can edit gshop.data 151 files, but doesn't have a "get timestamp" button, and doesn't have export options to create the gshopsev.data files. I'm at a loss on what to do to continue with my boutique project before I've even had a chance to start it.

I can't help but wonder if you plan to release an updated version of the server to bring us into the new classes and races. Anyway, thank you for an awesome release! I'm only looking for config files for sELedit now to save element.data and export server files. I can edit it and save a client version, but can't output to server version without the config file. Without being able to save element.data server version, I can't edit a lot in the game. I found it while trying to figure out how to fix warsong. Warsong is impossible to do for some reason, because the Earth boss doesn't respawn itself once you kill him the first time. Which makes the boss impossible to kill. I'm currently scouring the files trying to find what the issue is with him. That's neither here nor there.

So 1.5.3 server files were released and I was wondering do I overwrite both 1.3.6 files and 1.5.1 servers? I wasn't sure so I just did 1.5.1 just to test and tried to log in and it said version client to low so I read on forums it's gotta be gshop? So I tried to edit gshop deleted all items in gshop put new time stamp but still client version to low not sure what to do help would be awesome thanks! Also I was using perfect world vision client :)

So i setup the 151 server at the first of the year and every thing was just great. I played it for a couple weeks or 3 and then stopped playing it and just now decided to start playing it once more. So i start the vm (vmware) and then start up the server and then log in to the game client and it cant connect. So i look at the logs and notice that gamedbd couldnt write to storage locatin checked perms it and noticed one wasnt correct so i changed it. Now i can log into the game but all characters are gone they are still listed in mysql db. So i thought maby something was a miss with the server and i had a backup put it in same thing no characters.
So what could be causing this?
I try to use the RebellionPW Client for 1.5.1 because i dont have high speed to download the pw-151 client right now, it always says its too low version, how can i patch it to the required version?

Was just wondering, can I use the latest versions of vbox / ubuntu? Or do I have to use the specific versions you had selected when you released this package? the ubuntu version I have at this moment in time is 16.04.2-Server-amd64.iso. Will this one work or do I need the downgraded 12.whatever version?
The version of VMWare should not matter - I know they're on v12 now... However the version of Ubuntu is VERY specific because I have it (the package) install ia32-libs "offline", so the version that is inside the package is *VERY* specific to that exact version of Ubuntu Linux. That's why the install 'script' I wrote tests for that explicit version of linux, and if it's not found - the install should 'fail'...
The goal of this package WAS to make it so that it was SO easy you could teach a first grader, or even a monkey how to install it. Which of course at the same time, an experienced individual should be able to dissect it to do pretty much whatever they want with it ;)
That being said, I know I may not have brought it up a lot but there is always the "--force" command flag that you can run that will bypass the version check, HOWEVER, please do note that "I CANNOT and WILL NOT support this" "whatsoever". This would CERTAINLY be for those who really know what they're doing without instruction or further assistance. That being said, if you run it (./install whatever) with the --force option, it WILL try to FORCE the installation of the package as it was intended for that specific version of Linux, just without checking for it (EX: it will attempt to install the version of ia32-libs that I have bundled with it). So this COULD very well produce a very unwanted outcome.
So depending on just how 'advanced' you (or anyone else) is, you could always "tear apart" the installation to just yank out the actual PW server files! ;) And I would probably actually recommend that, or of course just sticking with (I think it was) Ubuntu x64 12.04.3 - because (I shit you not) I tried it with (for example) 12.04.1 or 12.04.2 - and it did NOT work (the ia32-libs was probably the main factor in this since like I said, I included ia32-libs so that this package could even be installed WITHOUT an active internet connection IE for a LAN party)!
So, I take it the specificubuntu version only pertains to your release and not the other releases / new versions? I've got original beastie files that I might want to toy with and that's the reason I asked. :o
I accidently deleted a barbarian male template on PWadmin. Now I cant create a a barb anymore on in game character creation...

hi man, i want to try to setup my first ever pvt of perfect worl that would be my very first try to create a pvt just for me and my brother to play, my only question is, do i need a really good pc for this ? i wonder if i can do it in my laptop, 6 ram and 1 giga of video i dont remember the rest , is it really necessary to have a good pc ?

I have done most everything in the video and I tried to use the site to log into my server and I am getting a time out error saying the site cannot be reached because it took too long to load. Is there any tips to helping me get this to work. 10:23 seconds into the video is what I am talking about.

I know that this is potentially something incredibly simple but I have spent the last day and a half googling and reading through this thread to find an answer (I will admit I haven't made it all the way but after doing a site:http://forum.ragezone.com/f452/ search for my two current issues, I gave up reading through the thread). I have looked up VMWares help manual as well and re-downloaded the relevant files, currently no solutions so I am hoping someone can help!
When I first run the virtual machine, after selecting language and 'Install Ubuntu Server' I get a cmd-looking screen that constantly repeats segmentation fault, which points to a memory issue, however I have 16gb RAM and it is on a 1TB HDD that is less than 90% filled so I am unsure why this occurs. After a while it goes to the select a language screen.
The first of my two big issues is that in Detect and mount CD-ROM it comes up with 'Error while running 'modprobe -v usb-storage''. I can hit enter past that, but then my second issue is that it reaches 'Configuring the network with DHCP' and just freezes. I cannot work out what the issue is. I enabled vlan on the router itself but that didn't fix it, I temporarily shut off my anti-virus but that did nothing either. Am I missing something simple?
I am running windows 10, VMware 12.5 and have been following the video on the first page. I hope that is enough information to get some assistance.
i never got similiar problem (well i use vbox in ubuntu based os), but do you tryed share different amount of ram when install? for that enough 512-1gb mb shared ram to vbox ubuntu and later can change, also 8-10gb shared space enough tooQuote:

Thanks so much for the help, I tried virtual box instead of vmware and it works fine. It still doesn't work on vmware and am curious as to the reason, but since it works on virtual box I should be right from here, hopefully.
So everything is working great now, the server configuration page won't save any changes, and it won't work whilst the server is running and I can't access my character on the characters page (I can see my character however). I was also hoping to up the xp and drop rates, or change the whole exp curve. So I tried edit the element files, and the client and server both have the new element files, but the game still is using the old exp structure. I also tried editing the gs file. I am unsure any of my edits have taken effect and would like to know how to make them take effect or what I am doing wrong. I have managed to find the tutorials to do some basic file edits but I can't find somewhere with this information.
It would also be awesome to be pointed in the direction of some good editing tutorials for shops/gear/probabilities if there are any.

I'm not 100% sure in all seriousness but that's the first place I'd start (I'm running W7 still {fuck win8 and 10})! All my friends, acquaintances and so on that do use 10 have NOTHING but problems! Character page is white?
If go to the characters tab (or server configuration) and it comes up with my grand list of one character, when I click the characters name, it has a white screen that is constantly loading (has the header picture and buttons, the rest of the page doesn't load). Same with the server configuration page. Both load but can't edit when the server is off, however I can access them then. I am probably missing something obvious here, but since I changed the xp curve its less of an issue for me now.
For me not load at all character list and white stuff is same, it's can't communicate in my case with MySQL (I guess).
Try different pwAdmin or check the settings (with 1.4.2 I was unable to fix white screen under header and main buttons)
Hmm, seems like I am downloading some secret files (seeing as nobody else seems to have this problem?).
When I try to install 146 server files on top of the 136 as decribed on the first page, it tells me I have to install the 136 server first. The reason for this error is that it checks for a '136' directory in /PWserver. However, it never creates such a directory so that makes no sense... since I can't remove this line I decided to manually create a '136' directory in the /PWserver and copy all the files to that directory. That way the installation proceeds but then it sadly does install 146 in a different directory (/PWserver/146). Due to this, I can't start the server because probably config files are messed up. It wont let be do anything on the PWadmin page.
Am I downloading the wrong files or something? am I some kind of special snowflake that I get a custom installation? what's going wrong?:w00t:
Probably your folder isn't allow to write or idk this why folder not created, read about "sudo chmod -R 777 dirpath", maybe help

There's no need to chmod anything, you literally download the package then type "./install-pw" (for the base/v136 package). If this isn't what you're experiencing then something horrible has gone wrong! And I would suggest re-downloading, verifying the 'checksum' values and starting with a fresh/clean installation of the OS.
The only things are, certain aspects of the instructions DO *HAVE* to be followed. Such as (but not limited to), installing on Ubuntu server x64 12.04.3, AND installing AS root. If you do not install on very specifically 12.04.3 x64 ubuntu AS root - there's no way the installer will run anyway... If you use 'options' such as the provided "force" option, I do not support this, and you must know what you're doing on your own if you wish to bypass some of the *requirements* of this package.
Maybe you're using an old download? The first several versions of this release did require a lot to manually be done; that has all gone to the way-side. You literally DL it, and then type ./install-pw LOL - then answering a series of questions then - PRESTO, server up and ready!
I really do not know what else to think or say, this release has been out in it's current form since 2014 (3+ years), on page 300, with NO even similar complaints =\

Is that from 2011-2014? Seriously, is that from before or after the 7th of JANUARY 2014? I ask because the old structure (before 7 JAN '14) was not /PWServer/136/ it WAS just /PWServer/ !!!!!!!!!! The package has changed a LOT over time since it's initial release in 2011...!
