¤ The Complete PW Package ¤

Well i have ran into an issue with setting up the files on a dedicated server. Right now i have the system working perfectly fine on a VM were i have access to everything thanks to 343 making the system so easy to set up. Now the dedicated server works just fine except that i cant get pwAdmin to open at all keep getting an Apache Tomcat/5.5.28 error saying Access to the specified resource () has been forbidden. i have scrounged through the forums looking for possible answers and still haven't found a fix yet :(

I guess coz 343 made it secure so I guess you must search around the hhtpacces or config file where is the kan ip and change (file is in same folder where is the MySQL password and other settings)

That is correct sir's, the Apache/Tomcat are 'locked down' so that you're only supposed to be able to access them via LAN. If you wish to change this on your own (I would recommend adding ONLY your specific IP to the "ALLOW" list). This is controlled via each individual 'webapp' - look in the META-INF directory of each app to control this. The file you're looking to edit is "context.xml" - specifically the line:

<Valve className="org.apache.catalina.valves.RemoteAddrValve" deny="*" allow="127.*.*.*,10.*.*.*,192.*.*.*,172.*.*.*" />

That is the line that says where to allow connections from. If you're running an actual (non LAN) server that you want to grant access to simply add your IP (like I said I'd use the single, whole, specific IP) in that list, such as:

<Valve className="org.apache.catalina.valves.RemoteAddrValve" deny="*" allow="173.194.219.139,127.*.*.*,10.*.*.*,192.*.*.*,172.*.*.*" />

Only, of course, make it YOUR IP!

Ok now im running into the issue where all my Daemons start except Authd it keeps showing offline. yet i can log into the server. but when others try to log in they get server network error ive looked at all the possible guides with no answer really

Not sure if this is just me, but the character customization on PWadmin isn't working!
What do you suggest in order to customize characters starter rep and culti?
Also can't create anymore characters out of the blue! it dicconects me from server :(
This actually happened last time when I tried to edit the starting cultivation in the XML file.I succesfully restored it but now it happened (probably) after I syncrhonized the gameDB with mysql role table on pwAdmin page...

For some reason, I am unable to enter FC on any of your server files I use. Other instances no problem. I'm using your client too and already made sure the region.clt and region.sev are the same. I'm getting no errors whatsoever when starting the maps. It just keeps spamming unable to enter instance.. what could this possibly be?

EDIT: Finally figured it out on my own with the help of some long dead buried post somewhere. It provided clear enough instructions for me that I got it sorted out.

First I'd like to say I'm new here and new to running private PWI. If this post is a little on the lengthy side I want to apologize ahead of time.

Okay so, I'm running a private LAN server for my home network mostly for myself and my SO to play around with PWI. We're both long time adult Official Server players (US West Archosaur). With zero experience with this type of thing I was able to get the server up and running and playable without issue. Of course since I'm posting in this thread I'm using 343's lovely complete package (awesome job 343, thank you so much for releasing this). I'm using Oracle VBox on a Windows 7 machine running the 146 release. The server is running great and we have been able to play on it just fine for several days. It's nice and stable, no issues.

Now, on to the reason for this post. I'd like to set up the GShop with your standard fare similar to what you'd find on an official server. However, I have been running into walls non-stop trying to achieve this. I've done LOTS of reading and searching, and just can't seem to get it done.

So, simply, I'd like to ask if anyone can provide the files needed to have a working "standard" GShop. I understand how to import them client and server-side. I know where they go and what the file names are etc. I just can't seem to accomplish it myself by getting items added into the GShop using the GShop editor tools, getting the IDs/etc with sELedit and what have you. I've been trying and trying and trying to only fail, fail, fail.

IF anyone/someone could provide me the needed files (gshop.data, etc) that would be wonderful. Again I'm running 343's 146 release (which I believe to be v80 if I'm not mistaken).

If no-one is able to do so, does anyone know where I might be able to download such files?

Again I apologize for bounding in here and presenting like a noob, I don't mean to be a bother.

Could be many reasons, with some of the most obvious being to make sure you're using the matching client (which IK you said you are), and the other one being to make sure that the instance is started (without error)... Another popular reason for getting that message is trying to enter an instance while "embraced" with another toon. You cannot use the region [trans] zone while 'embraced' with another toon! If you try, both toons will get the "unable to enter instance" message.

Simply add items to gshop, now this is different between the different versions. It's a different process/editor for 136(-) vs. 142/4(+)

In 136 the server and client side are physically the same file. In 142/4+ the client side is gshop.data and the server side is gshopsev.data...

I'm really new about this kind of stuff and I'm sorry if this have been asked before but 300 pages are a lot to read. So I've been trying to download the 1.5.1 client and it always corrupted, is it possible to use another 1.5.1 client from somewhere else and what need to be done to use that client so it could work with the server?

Thanks for the reply 343 but yeah I actually ended up figuring it out on my own eventually. I actually found one buried post somewhere (not even sure it was on RageZone) that finally pointed me in the right direction in a way that made sense to me. All is well now.

However, I once again have ran into a problem:
-I deleted the old VM adapter since it was giving problems, because of this my adapter changed from eth0 to eth1

I already changed this change in etc/network/interfaces but I am still not able to get on the pwadmin page, the first time connecting it does ask me for the login but when I try to login it wont reach 192.168.0.x/admin/.

Are there any other files that need to be changed from eth0 to eth1?

Maybe because pwadmin is 192.168.0.x:8888/pwAdmin ?
Also set LAN ip in config file where is the .pwadmin.conf too

I always connected via 192.168.0.1/admin
LAN IP has not changed and is still the same. Only thing that changed is the VMbox adapter. I do get the login prompt when entering pwadmin page but after that the page wont load..

Nope, path is unchanged.
Friends can also simply still connect to the server, however I can not access the admin page which sucks:(

I'm trying to figure out why the Lucidgold and Lucidsilver NPCs don't appear in this release, at least in the 146 version. They exist in the element.data file, and in the npcgen.data file, and their quests exist in the tasks.data file. I can't figure out why they wont show up in game. Anyone care to clue me in?

Actually yeah I figured it out that is exactly what it is. I'm finding there are quite a few NPCs that have been disabled, even though 343 states that his releases are as close to official as possible.

Here are some NPCs I've come across so far that are disabled even though they are enabled "officially" for 1.4.6+:

Lucidgold Envoy
Lucidsilver Envoy
Lucidsilver Agent
Perfect Questmaster
Keeper of Names

There are probably others I just haven't found yet. I don't understand why they've had their triggers set to off.

Is there anywhere i can get the 151 client for this besides mega? I just hit the bandwidth limit on a free account and I am in the middle of compiling a new guide. This my friends is exactly why I am building a file repository lol.

maybe try change your ip, so when it say you reached the limit dc the router and relog to net or maybe can try borwser plugins for this.

sadly i have only till 1.4.2, also you can upload to goodle drive, its 15gb storage limit so 3 account there similiar like 1 mega and speed is ok :D

When I left people were hitting me up for a guide using these files so I am taking the stuff necessary for the 151 install and working it into my own install guide of a more traditional sense without all the iso mounting, and im going to show people how to roll this out on any preexisting server. I just need the client lol.. thats where my quest had ended for today it seems.

Dont use this files or client. It's total fucked up.

How so I know other than 343 taking the boutique out which is an easy fix. The client only works with his release from what ive read. I use a clean stock 151 the one in the guide in my signature normally but I am doing this for the purpose of simplifying things for other people who like this release. What is messed up in it though I actually would like to know thats the kind of information people should put out. if you don't want to talk here you can always pm or skype me.

How to download from mega:
do you have account on mega and do you have dynamic ip?

*if yes then login to mega so download limit will be ~5gb (if not login the limit i guess 1gb)*
-start download with browser
-pause around 4gb the downloading
-restart router or your connection to get different ip
-unpause after your net work again

permissions you need to give the folder those files are in the proper permissions so they can execute. Look in the link to my setup guide near the top of it I talk about how to chmod the folders properly. Once that is done it should work fine.

Okay I've run into an issue twice now and I really need some assistance troubleshooting to figure out what is causing it and how to remedy it.

On two different test servers now I have lost the ability to create new characters on any account seemingly randomly and out of nowhere. I cannot find any reason or cause for this to happen. I can create new accounts, and I can log into existing and new accounts just fine. Any existing characters on any account I can log in to just fine also. However, if I try to create a new character on any account, I am unable to do so. The system seems to hang momentarily and then gives me a time-out in-game. I must then log out.

The only error I can find in any logs that seems to relate is the following message in the /PWServer/146/logs/world2.err log:

gdeliveryd: err : gdelivery::createrole: userid=####, retcode=4

#### = the ID that I tried to create a new character on. Gives this same message for any account that tries to make a new account.

Why is this happening?? What the hell am I doing to cause this?

The only files I've ever modified on the server are gshopsev.data, tasks.data, /world/npcgen.data.

If someone could please help me track down what is going on I'd really appreciate it. I'm running 343's 146 release.

So far the only thing I've been able to do to get character creation back is to just wipe the server and start fresh. Luckily this has only happened to me on test servers so far. My one good main server I have going hasn't run into this issue so far, but I fear it is only time before it starts happening there too. I need to figure out what is causing this.

Usually when I have seen this error its because of a different hash being used to create the account than the system wants for instance my guide and when I am using myweb or hulu's panel to register accounts if the registration script is using the wrong hash it will cause stuff like this.

If that doesn't help restore the stock files and see if the server logs in if it does you prolly have an error in your npc or world data.

I have already, as you suggested, put all bone stock files back in place (server and client side), shut the game server down, powered off the VBox, powered back up, restarted the server, and it still does the same thing.

Anyway, I am using the included pwAdmin that 343 has set up in his release. I use that to create accounts, add cubi-coin, etc.

The other server uses the exact same files/setup. Only difference is on that server I've left the tasks.data file stock and have only ever edited the GShop and npcgen.data world file.

Actually I haven't tried to create a new character on that other server in quite some time so I'm going to go attempt that real quick.. -pauses- ..okay yep I'm still able to create characters on that server. Checked and it does have one small minor modification to the tasks.data file. So the only modified files on any of these servers are just the ones I've already mentioned.

Using the same npcgen.data on all of them.

Regardless as I said I've put all stock files back in to place on the "broken" server, done a full restart, etc., and I still can't create new characters on any account. It's sitting now as it would after a fresh install. I just don't understand what suddenly could cause me to not be able to create characters, but I can create accounts and log into them just fine and log into already made characters just fine and play. For some reason it seams only making new characters is broken.

As I said this happened before on another test server and eventually got so frustrated I just wiped it. I searched here on RageZone and used google for days trying to figure out what the problem was and could find nothing. I found a few mention of other people having this problem but never any solutions or reasons. Now that it has happened again, I decided to finally make a post. Try to see if anyone has any ideas.

I have never had it but I don't run 343's other than in a virtual machine to test for you guys. Only thing I could suggest by the errors and it's a long shot is try another registration script. There is a simple on in the 151 folder on my file server in my link. I wish I could be more help I spent a few hours on vm trying to make it do that.

I am very sorry I couldn't be of more help. Most of time is spent working with the version my 151 guide uses to improve it so sometimes 343's version just throws something at me I haven't seen. Please though if you figure out the issue repost the solution here so everyone has it. I will ask some people who know more about this release than me and see if I can get back to you.

That is actually all that is in the log. Any time I try to create a character, no matter what account i try it on, it just adds another line to the error log exactly like the last, only the ID number varying depending on which account I am logged in to. And that is all that is in the log.

Is there a known good functioning 1.4.5 release that is still available for download somewhere? I've searched and searched and of course have come across quite a few v145 server file downloads, but all that I come across are broken and dead links.

I've done a 1.4.5 site:forum.ragezone.com google search as well as 145 site:forum.ragezone.com google search and have explored every thread that comes up. Not a single one has working links that I can find.

I saw in multiple places 343 saying he planned to do a v145 add-on release for his package but apparently never did, instead opting for v146, which is sad.

One of the server files links there is actually still active.. but after download it has bad CRCs for me.

That's what I'm currently doing pretty much, trying to convert 1.4.6 to 1.4.5 content. I'm going through the tasks.data, npcgen.data, and elements.data and ripping out as much of the 146 content as I can. Removing the NPCs, quests, etc. It's a pain in the ass. That's why I've been messing around with test servers; to make sure I'm not breaking anything as I go along.

I'm having a bit of an issue/have a few questions. I've never encoutered this problem before and my search results arent really turning up any good answers. Basically when I edit elements.data on 1.3.1, 1.3.6, or 1.5.1 it causes my GS to crash and the map wont start. The logs basically says elements.data is the reason and the error code is -3. I'm starting to think the issue is when I'm moving the edited elements.data into winscp that it's corrupting it somehow. I've used every version of sELedit available. Through this forum AND the russian forums and I'm still not having any luck. I'm thankfully not getting a version low error or anything that easy. It's mostly just my gs crashing because of elements.data. I feel like this is something REALLY REALLY obvious, and Im just missing it completely.

Found this: example if you add a item then open server side data, add there and save then open client side and add same item with same infos how you did at server side, DO NOT COPY client side elements.data to server side or invers, edit both file individually.

So I wonder if trying to do each side on their own terms and go from there maybe?

All I've done is make a copy of a starter wand change the ID of it (No it's not conflicting with any other items) and changed the texture of the weapon. My client loads it the server loads it too, no version mismatch, the only thing that goes offline is the gs

Well, the GS isnt crashing now that ive gotten correct configs and changed my upload setting in winscp... but not my actual game is crashing and throwing an error I cant even read

Somehow, the original data files I have that came with 343's release are version 12. When I edit them they are getting converted to version 10.... That's probably what's causing my issues at this point.

So... editing the elements.data the first time and making a new test wand without editing any textures worked. it didnt cause the GS to crash, but caused my client to crash. Fixed that. Went back and edited JUST the texture of the weapon and my client still worked BUT the gs started crashing again. Getting really aggravated with this damned thing today

Is this a known issue? Searching the forums for "java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: cross_data" yields no results. Searching for "java.lang.NoSuchFieldError" doesn't yield anything PW-related.

In 1.3.1, 1.3.6 and 1.4.6 XML editor works fine, although in 1.4.6 it might take several tries to open it (as with almost every other page in that version and 1.5.1, which seems to be a known issue, but I've found no solution to that so far).

Good day Sir! Im a fan of your work and its really awesome :D i've downloaded all the files required in youtube and trying to make my own server and offline version of pw but something gone wrong with the process.
i've downloaded vmware station 14 instead of vmware station 12, and input the step by step guidelines in the station.
when i choose the ubunto 64 bit in the menu, it shows in a red qoute that the host is not supported and and my computer restart while running the workstation. something like bluscreen ..
i've change the ubunto 64 bit to ubunto since i can't proceed with the whole bluscreen and again my computer restart, but this time i've i can't manage to press any of my keyboard key, gladly i have on screen keyboard in the menu of my user account (with password at start up). I've recover my system after that .. :D
the PWI working fine in my laptop, and i want to have the pw private server with your help if you may sir.
Is there any way where i can proceed and complete the installation and able to play it offline?

when i run the it, it leads me to the console thing .. and on the top it said that the computer will be shut off. is it true that the vmware 14 will only works for windows 8 higher?

I play from Ubuntu with virtualbox server so 2 Linux, 4gb sufficient but only for few map, u need close and start maps if u want go instance

Workstation Pro 12.x and above only supports 64-bit host operating systems.

So if your vmware crying about host op system u need to enable in bios

It's up for long years, I'm pretty sure your problem is already solved, you are just lazy to search in older threads. 1. To open the console use, "Maj + %" if you have french keyboard or ( Shift + ~ ) on english keyboard.
2. In which world are you ? if you are in the primal world (is63) you can't open gshop ( you have to leave the primal world to access gshop )
3. When you are editing the gshop, export gshop by increase the older gshop ( its very importent )

My one good main server I have going hasn't run into this issue so far, but I fear it is only time before it starts happening there too. I need to figure out what is causing this.

I think i have found problem. Everything works great till you go to pwAdmin Characters page. Synchronization GameDB with MySQL working great. But when you trying to see character stats and eq, or xml. Then we have this problem. Trying to solve this. If someone have any suggestions. Let me now.

This was difficult to read.
To edit values for weapons stats is done in the elements.data with the element editor.

Yes, you can, simply by edit /etc/lsb-release file, set DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS" then retry your ./install-pw

343 hello, can you tell me please how to open MySQL from somewhere. I tryed to install phpmyadmin- but nothing helps - on this version of ubunto it didnt installed. Try other commands - but same.

Has anyone else ran in to the issue of corrupted ISO files?

Using the full package or the individuals files ALL result in a corrupted ISO that cannot be opened. The included Ubuntu distro is the only file that isn't corrupted.

Got it all working, ISO files were just being lame in Windows 10.

For others experiencing the issues, mounting through UltraISO resolved all issues.

Ive bump on some problem and hope someone can help me, still .. its still regarding the pw package of 343
Ive bought a new laptop and tried to make a recovery data but instead, i save the recovery file in my hdd, now my hdd turned to 32 gb from 2tb where my pw offline omega 343 package are. I reformat my hdd and now its working well, ive installes the easeUS data recovery to retrieve my files but i cant see the files ive missed during the recovery back up? I was looking to install the pw offline usig the retrieve data, it happened last month. Can someone helo me without dl the whole package? I cant currently dl the whole 29 gb now, it was 7gb as ive remmber

Any WORKING 1.5.1 v101 server files. That BS from 343 don't work. Problems with login. Logging in takes to long.

Anyone here had any luck getting FW server to work? The PW servers work perfectly I just cant get FW to work. Anyone tried to run it?

FW server worked fine for me the problem is the FW Client it seems to be missing files it will not launch no matter what way i tried using patcher.exe using game.exe using launch.bat file and using spatch.exe none worked

I downloaded the client 1.5.1 from mega, however, when I tried to mount it, it's giving me an error.
