Going to give this a go this week.
I'll report back with my findings.
Thanks, everyone, for the comments and 343 for the package, etc.
Works great! I'm amazed of how much changed in scripting since I last played PWI (Long time ago.)
NOw to search in here on the best ways to manage the server, (Server-side,) as I want to make it public, as well as managing from a GM's perspective. (I've never been a GM on the actual game, just helped translate the MY to Eng WAyyyyyy back in the day.)
I will say this about my experience:
1.) You think the PWadmin isn't working, because you try and connect to it and you get an HTTP 400 error. My mistake was not following case-sensitive url. (I didn't know that was even a thing...)
So to ensure you can test your pwAdmin functionality, be sure to type the URL in exactly as below. http://your.internal.lan.ip:8080/pwAdmin
(Note that the pwAdmin has the capital "A"
2.) If you do all the commands from the console, after you get the 1.3.6 package installed, your console spits all sorts of Checkpoint rubbish on the screen. (Not sure if that happens on a winSCP connection or not. Will test tomorrow.)
Just be sure you type exactly what you want, as some of those checkpoint messages arrive on the screen right over what you're typing. Fear not, as when you hit the "Enter" key, it's only going to take what you typed, not the rubbish from the server.
That freaked me out. lol
3.) When the instructions say to type something, be sure to type the command with the exact "Case" of the instructions. This OS is finicky about case, and you have to match it everywhere you use it in the same way.
4.) Static IP addresses / DHCP / etc.
If your router hands out DHCP to LAN members, you'll need to create a reservation, or set the IP manually BEFORE you install the game server. If you don't, you'll need to run the IP utility to make everything function once you've set your IP properly. The installer makes some assumptions during the installation about this, so it's best to have that handled before running the game server installation.
Other than those few things, I found the guide and the video to be very helpful.
Thanks again, @343!

Hi guys!
First of all, thank you 343 for this amazing work, no words about your dedication...
I have a question, if someone could help me in this, will be great!!
About TW ((1.3.6 version)Maybe applies to all versions)
1 - There is a possibility to exclude some territories from selection and participation in TW? I want to remove all Tideborn area from TW and make it selectness...
After this, I'll limit world area to exclude tideborn areas from players cannot reach.
Thank you!!!

Hello!
343's just let a null gshop active, that means this functionality wasn't removed, it's just null.
You need to generate your own gshop file to your Client and Server, and insert into your server and client, as usual.
There is a tool to help you out, sGSHOPedit. (Presume that you know it (YOU MUST)).
If you encounter problem to do that, I suggest you to search in some how to topics and learn about server structure and tools before you start, to not get lost...
I found some problems in 1.3.6 files, I'm here to report it.
I dunno if we have an active team working, but I'll report and I'll try to do something.
If there is an active coder I'll be glade to get helped, and help too..
1- If we set "debug_command_mode = active" in ptemplate.conf, ALL players will be able to use Ctrl+Click in map to teleport to any region, not just a GM.Without this active in this file, GM cannot perform commands from console. Without resolution yet
2- [CRITIC]: elementclient.exe need to be hex edited to fix the map explorer view. When you set the game at resolutions higher then 1024x1024, your maps do not fit into screen side, that makes your map be limited. (You can reproduce this error just setting your resolution higher then 1024x1024 and opening map pressing "M" button). Without resolution yet
3- All new accounts get "GM-No entering" quest, and can travel all limited areas.
Just Realized that problem are occurring just because I replace task.data from server and client, this for some reason causes that. By simple restore from a previously made backup, back to works as expected.
4- elementclient.exe need to be hex edited to limit world area and remove tideborn and guardians cities. (Optional but useful).
I Hex edited elementclient.exe, and removed Tideborn and Guardian areas. Now, with this exe you will have only Perfect World 1.3.6 version above. (Note: SAME EXE FROM 343 ORIGINAL RELEASE, JUST HEX EDITED AREA).

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Hello, I am new to the forum and I am looking to create my own dedicated server. Is there anyway you can help me? I'm looking to make the server on the V 1.4.8 or 1.5.0. All I see are virtual machines. I do not know if that is the same ISO/Files that you would set up on a dedicated server or not.
I found some problems in 1.3.6 files, I'm here to report it.

This has always been a "thing" but I don't recall it effecting GM console commands or their usage... Maybe SOME of them IDK??? I never got into actually RUNNING a server, since I was always so busy either playing the official servers, and working on this [massive] release...! For a "live server" you should definitely not have "debug command mode" on - for the reason you've listed, and anything else I forgot about what that flag actually does besides letting ANY player just teleport around by ctrl+clicking all Willy Nilly...!
2- [CRITIC]: elementclient.exe need to be hex edited to fix the map explorer view. When you set the game at resolutions higher then 1024x1024, your maps do not fit into screen side, that makes your map be limited. Yep, also always been a "thing" even on the official game/client... Closest thing I think you'd ever see to a "fix" to this would be the "workaround" I used to use while playing the game on official servers, zoom in so you can scroll around!
3- All new accounts get "GM-No entering" quest, and can travel all limited areas.
Just Realized that problem are occurring just because I replace task.data from server and client, this for some reason causes that. By simple restore from a previously made backup, back to works as expected.

I never did much testing on the FW that's included. Other than starting the server, logging in, and running around for like 30 seconds...! That's about the extent that I "know" it "works"...
If I recall correctly though (please bear in mind it's been a LONG time since I've actually worked on any of this crap), the FW server IS an "extension" of 136 (PW)... From what I recall v136 is the ultimate "base" for ALL future "packages" that I added/released... So do make sure you install 136 first, then install the FW subsequently in order for the FW server to work ;)
And yea, the client should open, it did for me. I was able to run around for ~30 seconds on my "running" game server once I started it up... Before releasing...

Do you know if the old torrent is still up and running?
I've looked through these posts, but don't see a link.
I'd be willing to setup a host to seed as well.

I doubt the torrent still exists, I was the primary and often only seeder... I am now currently living a mobile life so, no more "servers" or "seeding" for me :( When and if I can though, I would be more than happy to re-start a torrent of the entire package! Sadly I would have no idea when or if that will be, as I was saying a moment ago - I am living life to the fullest right now traveling about!
Torrents really are the way to go though, I really enjoy the lack of centralization... That is, unless there's Only ONE person seeding (like what happened the first time I tried to make this release a torrent)... Just too many LEECHERS!

The "boutique" is there, it's just blank... All you have to do is edit it and add stuff to be "purchased" from it ~ then it will "reappear" in the game ;)

I see/talk to fresh faces all the time and this is usually my goto for getting them in the door to perfect world development and some of them are actually bummed that the latest and greatest isnt included yet.
Absolutely I think you should do an update to the release for two reasons...
1) So I can get a fresh working copy of everything to mirror on my own download sources for everyone.
2) While I don't see it super commonly I think the latest files would be nothing but beneficial to be included in the release.
Personally I think you should add the source code in as well but thats just me ;)

I did also just notice that we're coming upon the TEN year anniversary of the first post of this release! So, I am thinking, if not anything else I will do an update; for it's TEN year anniversary! :)
- - - Updated - - -
Only thing is, since I'm not very (personally) interested in anything other than v136 and MAYBE v146; I am NOT going to be putting a bunch of time into 151 or 153 or 155... Like, making sure everything is working... It'll kind of be a "take it as it is" kind of thing... ;)
- - - Updated - - -
That and of course the clients just keep getting BIGGER and BIGGER and BIGGER and BIGGER, so it's going to get harder and harder to find a reliable place to host this much data =\

IDK it's more of a love AND hate relationship I have with modern PW... My true <3 will always be like 139 (the first ver of PWI) or even pre... I AM starting to warm up to 146, but honestly as a long time retail/official player I really felt the new classes kind of trashed the game... But then ofc "APS" REALLY trashed the game, and IIRC that's when I left the game!
It's definitely cool to tinker with, and have both client and server side; but I think they've also just gotten too "out of hand" with design too.. I mean really; when the game was in it's more initial stages the choice between DEMON and SAGE was a VERY IMPORTANT choice to make, because you could only make it ONCE. There was no being able to "switch"... Now I know you can do that! That kind of removes the importance of making such a decision. Makes it (a LOT) less important! Likewise, "rebirth" or "reawakening"; I mean really - ghey! One of my initial goals (being my first MMO) was to get lv105... Well, now between "glitches" (abuse), and "rebirth" people can reach 105 with ease! Almost too easy I've been told... Honestly not too big of a fan of "reawakening" (even though I've also never done it or even tried it)... As much as I may not like over "grindy" games, that's how it was initially made! We all knew if we wanted to ever "see" lv105, it would be a small eternity! But people like me set out to do it! Which is one of the reasons, as retarded as it is (and I can acknowledge that); that retards like me refuse to do the whole "rebirth/reawakening" thing... If I ever did go back to playing on retail I STILL wouldn't do it, why, because I would want to see if I could hit lv105 the OLD school ORIGINAL (HARD) way! Not just take the easy way out >.> ANOTHER thing that is driving me crazy is SO much that seems like it also just doesn't belong AT ALL. Like the CARDS, er "war avatars" er whatever the heck they call em... I can't help but think, WHAT THE F**K does that have to do with an MMO/RPG @.@ If I wanted to play ANY type of card game I'd set up a card table and call over some friends; or go play poker or some other card BASED game... "CARDS" don't have ANY space in my MMO/RPG >.> And just some of the new/er and added complexities, like meridian, or glyphs, and well, TBH the list just goes on and on...!
So, anyway, I started to get all ranty, but, as you can see it's a love hate relationship I have going on with the game! As if MMO/RPGs aren't "complex" enough as it is; they done gone and made it too stupidly OVER complex IMHO...
Same goes for all the new races/classes; it's a love hate thing... I really appreciate the all original version of PW with ONLY 3 races / 6 classes... It seems things really started going downhill after the PW development team went off the rails by adding things like new races/classes, and all this other crap (like reflection, meridian, CARDS, etc)! "casting" was adverse to the game, "sins/psys" were adverse to the game, "APS" was adverse to the game, the "goon glitch" was adverse to the game, demon/sage switching is adverse to the game, rebirth is adverse to the game, and some of this other new crap I either just don't understand, or don't want to (like meridian, cards, reflection, glyphs, etc)...
Ultimately though the biggest qualm I have with "official"/"retail" is that it's "free to play" but "PAY TO WIN"... I couldn't imagine how people actually manually "farm" say R9 full +12... But I hear people do/have done it... I couldn't even imagine that, especially with all this other stuff/changes... ... ...
So ya, love & hate, all at the same time... But at least I can be honest about it too, a lot of it is my personal bias that I also feel 'robbed' at the same time... Knowing that even if I ever did make it to lv105, it's now LESS significant because of things like goon glitch, and rebirth/reawakening... Almost everyone that wants it, can get it, and easily... NOT FAIR rofl... Or like the fact that I chose SAGE/DEMON, when now it's not an "important decision" because people can switch if they ultimately want to...
And I actually made it to like 103 er 104 too before I quit retail, BEFORE all these changes that make my toon and my original goals less relevant :( Still, almost makes me wanna log back into retail to finish out that lv105 - but WITHOUT rebirth! Even though it'll be "less significant" (at least to other people)...

Eh no, 1.3.9 is not a nostalgic version for me, too new, a lot of bad changes. I mean i played on pwru, launched to the public from 1.3.4 then after ~half year update to 1.4.0 (i mean almost same 1.3.9?). I love long way to the high level, kill 80-100 mobs, find quest mobs without autopath...

v139 was the one PWi "opened" with right? If so that's the primary one I knew because that's where I started, and remained (even though I did roll a few toons on PW Malaysia [cubizone?])... I'd love to have played something even older though! I know I wasn't a huge fan of Genies either, and PWi "opened" with those too!
I suppose the REAL nostalgia is with 3 races/6classes NO genies, NO auto-path (whatsoever), etc!!! I remember when you didn't even have a (find) quest list! You would click to "find quest" er whatever and it would just literally give you ONE at a time; It would say something like "I hear the Elder of Ethersword is looking for you" LMAO

I know at least one private server with all what you named (russian ThePW). You can even set up own private server with these properties (it's version 1.3.1). But isn't it boring just to kill mobs and gather resources? Cards, glyphs, reawakenings, more skills, classes, etc. were introduced to make things less routineous and more funny (we can play with it, make variants of characters). Also there are more conveniences in later versions, debug commands, functions, etc. I would dream about server files above Elysium.

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Well, I have made up my mind! With the TEN year anniversary of this release right around the corner - I have decided to do an update! Honestly, I was going to do it for myself (for my archives) anyway, so why not share it right!? After all, what better way to commemorate the TENTH year anniversary than to pop it out again, and updated, and maybe a little better polished...!
Of course the ACTUAL anniversary (at least according to the first post) is ACTUALLY ~ 2 MONTHS, 2 WEEKS, and 4 DAYS away, or, 77 days away ~~ but who is counting >.>
I've also decided I'd just release it immediately seeing as things with me are always changing now... At a pretty rapid pace! Not to mention there are general "IRL" uncertainties (especially with BS like "THE BEER VIRUS" {what I'm calling "covid" for those who don't know} too)! To be completely honest, for the last 5 years ,er, however long I've been inactive... My PC has been sitting in the closet (POWERED OFF :o) literally collecting dust! My server(s) have been in the attic (also powered off) literally, collecting dust... Thinking this type of scenario may arise again, I'm just going to dump this "Special Anniversary Edition" on you all now! Plus, 2020 really has sucked balls! So I had to do SOMETHING to make sure there was SOMETHING good about it (LOL)!
I have not done a whole lot with the older versions other than "fine tuned" some stuff that was driving my CDO crazy (it's like OCD except the letters are alphabetical - AS THEY SHOULD BE)! It is updated and includes 131 136 146 151 153 155 and that FW "throw in"... I also remember once upon a time I was trying to keep things within CD capacity (what a difference TEN years makes)! Now, I've kinda tossed that idea out the window, because I know people seldomly use ANY optical media any longer, CD/DVD/BRD/ETC... Everything is either straight up digital / download or "USB sticks"! So the new "Special Anniversary Edition" is just over capacity of a single layer DVD (you would need to burn it to a DL DVD if you wanted to burn it to that ancient 'optical media')... PW_DEV would fit on a single layer DVD... Everything else, thanks to the clients being STUPID BIG, well - hope you have a BRD burner... And sadly, even the WHOLE release wouldn't even fit on a DL BRD, because it exceeds 50GB... Oh well, to hell with optical media anyway!
For the most part, this is also completely NOT compatible with previous versions/releases - primarily because I've moved some of the "updates" to the BASE version (v136)... Which is also still the case... v136 is the BASE version and MUST be installed first, prior to installing any of the "addons" (131 146 151 153 155 fw)... Primary example is having the newest up to date "pwversion" service - moved to the v136 BASE... So, if you managed to install an old install of the BASE-136, and try to install the newest 155, while it should technically work - I will NOT support this, because, when you type "service pwversion" the 155 will NOT show up in the pwversion service... Because (again) that has been updated on this releases v136base!
That being said, I also don't see much reason to release the individual servers any longer, as they all ALMOST fit on a SL DVD! That being said, if you're willing to DL a CLIENT that is almost ELEVEN GB, then you should have NO problem downloading this new/up to date server PACKAGE that only weighs in at 4.73 GB! Just remember, that 4.73 GB is ALL of the server "payloads" (136, 131, 146, 151, 153, 155, & fw)!
Also, I did put PW_DEV.iso in both the "servers" and "clients" download "folders" - please note that, these are the SAME exact file... They exist merely for redundancy!
Also, yes, I chose to STICK with the old ass Ubuntu12.04.3 - there was no chance in hell I was going back to fiddle with those stupid ia32-libs to "update" the release to utilize a newer version of Linux... That being said, those who really know what they are doing anyway, will not need to ask for help "updating" their OS, or using a completely different flavor of Linux even! I chose and stuck with Ubuntu12.04.3x64 for a reason; so that I could make this package so simple you could almost literally teach a monkey how to install it! Best way for someone to learn how something works is to fiddle with something that already works IMHO... So, if you don't like using "old ass" 12.04.3, start out with that. Until you learn enough to do whatever you want to with it! For those who don't know or remember, this package could actually be installed 100% offline... And that is the key reason there are "strict" limitations (like using Ubuntu 12.04.3x64)... I went through the hassle configuring ia32-libs to be installed offline WITH the BASE (v136) package (and I remember it being a REAL Pain In The Ass)! So the included ia32-libs payload will probably not work with ANY other version, than 12.04.3 Ubuntu... Personally I think the ia32-libs should just be included but then hey, I wouldn't have had that challenge... But the main goal of the package was to be 100% offline install-able... If you were say, having a traditional LAN party (with NO interwebs)... Or if the interwebs blew up, or whatever the hell stood in between you and the interwebs, I wanted a package that could basically be 100% self sufficient! Needing NO external "help" or resources... So if you find yourself on an island after an EMP, but you and your lappy were safe cuz you had it in a faraday cage/bag;;; then you will still be able to install this package!!!
Any who - enough with my ranting... Hope you all enjoy this one, it likely will be the LAST (especially if the leaks really do stop @155)!
about damn time you updated this! (not for me, for others)

I'm just going to add here:
DO NOT use VMware 16x - don't go any higher than 15.x!!!
Also, I do NOT recommend Win10 <yuck> I recommend no higher than Win7
Just my $0.02 ;)
So, and, so, "officially" this release does NOT support Win10, nor does it support vmware 16.x ;) it ONLY supports Win7 or lower and VMware 15.x or lower ;)
That is, of course, if you're planning on running this in a VM with VMware on a Windows host ... ... ...
- - - Updated - - -
It [obviously] supports any hardware that supports or is supported by Ubuntu12.04.3x64
No problem, if you're still running into issues I would take a look at possibly an error in one of the files itself.
sometimes it throws a different error however I know with my personal experiences I have run into it. both client and server logs help a bunch when narrowing it down.
usually its the gshop files ;)

Thanks @Fluzzy. I found out that client 1.5.3 and 1.5.5 can't run in windows 10.
You clearly didn't use the package in it's entirety either... The server and clients from this release/thread/post are all working - *together*... Not with mix and match whatever you want... That being said; of course you can "mix and match" whatever you want, if you know what you're doing... But again, if you want things to work "out of the box" you have to download EVERYTHING from this release (server AND clients)...
That's the ONLY way I "support" it... ;)

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Alright, (for those who want to know) so the deal was that: I made a post that got deleted, and I got rather heated about it; that's why the thread was down for a while; I got into a pissing match with the [current] mods... At this point I do blame myself more than them because I was in such a state that I wasn't able to clearly communicate with them any longer (all I really could/did do was rage)! Long story short I had made a ranty (anti Win10) post, and had just recently spent ~10 hours helping someone out! So I had/was actually forgetting what I had posted that they had deleted (I have CRS ~ Can't Remember Shit)! So, if they're not against it, for posterity, I will leave the ORG deleted post in a spoiler, but leave a more (proper) on-topic and hopefully less ranty post here, in it's place!
Spoiler:
Nice! Sadly, I (still) cannot condone the usage of Win10, it is pure trash IMHO. I literally just "fixed" a laptop for a friend that was Windows 10. MicroSNOT has done everything they can to STOP you from stopping their updates. And THAT (IMHO) is BULLSHIT...! If it's MY machine, and MY OS, then *I* chose when and what happens, NOT you (MicroSNOT)...! My friend complained about not being able to turn off this auto updating BS so he gave it to me. I of course recommended just having me wipe it and install Win7, but for whatever reason he does need 10 (maybe for work)... So I begrudgingly agreed to attempt to find a fix, but also disclosed I may not succeed (because I HATE 10 - and know very little about it because of such)... I *THINK* I finally succeeded, by literally not only stopping the W/U "service" but by also DELETING it! I actually got so pissed I just considered it "done" and let him know I only THINK I succeeded... Because, and as I let him know, there was ANOTHER service in there called something like "windows update medic service", and I could NOT delete IT >.< There was LITERALLY nothing I could do to delete THAT service... So I warned him that I could foresee THAT service, somehow (later on) "fixing" the windows update service that I had stopped and REMOVED... But at least "for now" Windows Update was "disabled"...
Now of course if you're "geeky" enough, like myself, I could also just BLOCK all outbound communications to "MicroSNOT" in my router/gateway; this however isn't a very realistic solution for most people, like my "non-techy" friend! It's also not a long term solution since, upon changing router/gateway hardware, or switching ISP - you would need to do this (all over) again... So not a solution one could easily set up for a "non techy" friend... As soon as they changed ISPs, or changed or upgraded their router/gateway - or their ISP performed a "silent update" to the gateway, could undo this action too!
But anyway, that's the straw that broke the camels back for me, I will NEVER "upgrade" to Win10, and never use it at all if I can really help it... Windows 7 is where the train stops for me. MicroSNOT has gotten out of hand...!
I thereby do NOT support Win10 in ANY way shape or form!!! But if it works for you, well then, power to you, and I am happy for you ;)
Basically, I do *not* recommend Win10 (and VMWare 16+) for running the server from this release. I <3 VMware but it does seem after helping multiple people that Ubuntu 12.04.3 itself doesn't want to function on VMWare 16+, only v15x or lower! So, that being said, make sure you use VMWare v15x or lower if you're going to be checking this out on a Windows host!
That being said, I also do not recommend Win10, I do personally hate it! I do recommend Win7 if you're going to be checking this out on a Windows host. That being said, I can not and do not recommend (ever) actually running a server from a Linux virtual machine within ANY windows host in the first place, not for a 'production environment' anyway! There's nothing wrong with using a Windows host and a Linux virtual machine for experimentation and learning however! Also, as a side note, just in case you couldn't tell this release is not ready "right out of the box" for a "production environment" either! The whole release is primarily meant as a means to learn enough so that you can set up a production quality server on your own  Also, the client should work on Win10, at least I know the official "retail" game is still going, and since Win7 is EOL, the client surely should work on Win10! But when it comes to the server, you may desire to save yourself the headache of using a virtual machine at all in the first place, and set it up on a dedicated Linux machine!
Moving right along, one of the issues that I have seen come up almost *every* time now, when DEALING with Win10 is the AUTO UPDATE... This comes up in regard to PW, and it comes up in general too... So: if you ARE running Win10 and you need some help disabling auto update; MicroSNOT has all but removed any "native" ways of doing this (one of the reasons I will NOT switch to it - not that I cannot get around it, just as a matter of principle at this point)! So, that being said, there's not going to be any "easy" native way to "just turn it off"! Almost every method is going to be "complex" or "geeky"!
One way you could do it, would be to block the proper IP addresses (and or domain names) at your router/gateway... Simply use a program like PROCMON (process monitor) -or- NetBalancer to establish where Windows Auto Update is connecting to, then block ALL of them! There may be pre-made lists floating around the interwebs too (just check the dates on them) I personally think this method may be the easiest, but only if you're already "super 'geeky'" when it comes to networking; if you're not I could easily see that being "too hard" or something "going wrong". That being said, if successful - you wouldn't have to do this on every machine in your network, you'd ONLY have to do it at the network level, and it would effect every machine in your network :D: That being said, this is not a method I would 'set up' or 'help' someone else with, because all it takes to nullify your "work" (or help) would be for your friends ISP to perform a "silent update" of the gateway/router, or if they changed the gateway/router (your friend or their ISP), or if they flat out changed ISP's! Basically, unless you're doing this on hardware that you/they completely own, it may need to be "re-done" over time (depending on your circumstances)! I cannot really post too much info/help on this as, hardware/firmware is VERY different among ISP's, countries, people, ETC! You'll just have to know what you're doing (or figure it out) on this one!
The next method actually involves REMOVING the system service "WUAUSERV" AKA "Windows Update". First you're going to need the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools. First you're going to want to stop the service (from services.msc) then use instsrv.exe (from the resource kit) to remove the service! I also recommend removing "BITS" AKA "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" since that is something else Windows Update uses (Pretty sure you'll lose MSN explorer by doing this, but who uses that anyway!?)... First "run" "services.msc" and stop the BITS and WUAUSERV services, then run a "cmd" (command prompt where instsrv.exe is) "instsrv BITS remove" and "instsrv wuauserv remove". poof no more auto update!
Now I have noticed on a 'newer' system they even actually have a service called something like "windows update medic service", and there was literally nothing I could do to get rid of it! So, if you have that, I wish the best of luck to you (as I'm guessing at some point it may be able to STILL restore your auto update stuff, minus the fact that you DELETED the service(s) used)! I guess the only steps you could further take in an attempt to assure it never "turns itself back on" would be to unregister some of the pertinent DLL's and DELETE those too! for that you're basically going to want to type "REGSVR32 /U "<dll path/name here>" " for each of the following DLL's if they exist in your system (remember to delete them first from the windows file protection cache and the %WINDIR%\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder)!
wuauhelp.chm (Windows Update AutoUpdate Help File) %WINDIR%\Help
Finally, delete the "\Program Files\WindowsUpdate" folder if it exists (Note: it is a hidden directory). This directory is used by both the Windows Update website and the Automatic Update client. Also delete any "\WUTemp" folders you might find in the root of your drives. (This folder is also hidden).
Spoiler:
If you are slipstreaming Windows or doing a network/RIS installation of Windows (or Service Pack) you could use this little trick to disable Windows AutoUpdate during install: comment out this entry in i386\au.inf
[AU_regsvr_rule]
;11,,wuaueng.dll, 1 ; 1 means call DLLRegisterServer
; Commented out to not install autoupdate service
NOW, get this, all that garbage is for Win10 HOME... If you have Win10 PRO; you are in luck - it's actually relatively straight-forward for PRO users :(: Here's the "instructions" for Win10 PRO (disabling auto update):
"run" "gpedit.msc" (go to your group policy editor)
Go to "Computer Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" > "Windows Components" > "Windows Update".
Double-click "Configure Automatic Updates".
Select "Disabled" in Configured Automatic Updates on the left, and click Apply and "OK" to disable the Windows automatic update feature.
And I guess, hey, if anything ever changes in the future (like they decide to remove this ability from pro) "PRO" users will still have the above to reference later on!

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Just a heads up (especially to anyone about to DL this now);
there will be (yet another) major update to this entire package ~ most likely (just in) time for the actual TEN Year Anniversary! One of the biggest things/features will be that, now that I am working on "monster spawner" and "ptemplate" "fixes", I will be going through and assuring that ALL versions gs has these "fixes", AND the new one for wallow control! Some more minor updates to PW_DEV.iso (like adding IDA 7.0 free - as one example)!!!
Stay Tuned !!!
- - - Updated - - -
I'll go ahead and leave the links live in case anybody REALLY wants it as it stands,,, but I warn: Since we're finally upon the actual TEN Year Anniversary, this update is gonna be a blow-out!!! I highly suggest, if you want it, and don't already have it; just wait until this update drops!

@343
Btw, I've never had the opportunity to say thanks!
So, thanks to preparing this package, back in 2013 I was able to start to realize that coding was my future. Now almost 10 years later I came back in forum just to ask if you allow me to publish your package for a more "descentralized" version (I know, It's focus on begginers and people whom doenst know linux very well). But last friday I challanged myself to undestrand your installation script and understand what pw server was about.
After 24 hours, I finally updated the bundle for ubuntu 20.04 LTS and install all libraries wich, btw, doenst crack "apt-get". I could install php 7.4 and mysql 8 but unfortunatly all web package doenst work such as pwAdmin and the register.... But I'm working on it to make it better with some Node.js server...
My ideia initialy was just understand the whole package, but i got excited and "upgraded", and now I'm trying to make a Docker version with Swarm and separeted services with we can provide Dockerfile and just build and deploy, no big deal.
What do you think? And, another problem that I've detected was gameanticheat wasn't working at starting the server at PWServer/136/log/syslog...
And another question, the 'services' loaded by /PWServer/136/start_min.sh sush as "/uniquenamed gamesys.conf"in gamesys.conf there is some IP's in wich file pw server comunicates with database?
So, finalizing, thanks for your contributtion for pw community, as if you allow me I can help in this scenario. Not making to promote myself, just help people who just want to install a pwserver more easly with docker.
I'm trying to install on docker, and it's working fine at the point where mysql + /PWServer are in the same server, but I want to change this config where /PWServer is in container X and MYSQL in container Y. But, i'm struggling in where is in /PWServer/136/?? makes connection with MYSQL?
It's all 127.0.0.1... I'm receiving this err MSG:
Quote:
err : gdelivery:: disconnect from GameDB
I'm trying to figure it out from /PWServer/136/gdeliveryd/gamesys.conf but not quit sure where to point MYSQL....
I've tryed:
Quote:
[GameDBClient]
type = tcp
port = 3306
address = 172.21.0.4
Quote:
[GameDBClient]
type = tcp
port = 29400
address = 172.21.0.4
Quote:
[GameDBClient]
type = tcp
port = 29400
address = db
NOTE: db is a service from docker-compose.yml, if $ ping db it's reponses with IP's addres of container

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
You're "free" to do whatever you want with this package... I started it because way back when I started there were essentially no "working" 'distributions' that would work straight "out of the box"... So I made this... There were some pretty good releases, that I was able to eventually make work so I was able to learn about the basics of it all. I then decided it would be nice to have a fully functional 'release' around here so that it would be so easy to install, you could literally teach a monkey how to do it, and have a running server as a result!
I, both back then and now, still think that having a fully working 'package' could help people learn - at least those that actually want to... Sure, some people will just use it with no desire to actually learn anything about it, but that's fine too. I think it's easier for those who want to learn though, to be able to tinker with something that's already working...! Rather than try to make it work, and potentially quit after becoming frustrated that they cannot make it work... Of course, how can someone who doesn't know about something - be expected to make it work!? At least to me, that makes a lot of sense... If I wanted to learn about an engine, and how it worked - would I learn more off of one that's already running, or would I learn more off of one that's in need of 'tinkering' first!?
But anywho, yea if you have dug into this release then you already know why it "requires" Ubuntu 12.04.3 - and that reason is (for *anyone* who doesn't know) because this release/package is designed so that there are literally ZERO external dependencies... That is, it ALSO installs ia32-libs for you - OFFLINE... So for example, you could install this if you're at a traditional LAN party (with no internets), or if you were on an island with no internets, or ANY scenario where you are "offline"! the ia32-libs that are bundled with it, are of course, very specific to Ubuntu 12.04.3... So the ONLY way to change that would be to manually install ia32-libs, which then also goes against the "SIMPLE" nature of this release/package... That's one MORE step than is truly needed for people to just simply get started with a fully working server, at least with this package, exactly the way I have it set up!
I do have to admit that even though I am doing a major update as we speak for the 10th year anniversary (which is only like 4 days away!) changing that aspect, is NOT something I am 'working on'... I have NO desire to bring this package up to a newer version of Ubuntu or dealing with the headache that is "ia32-libs"... It was actually quite a headache to set up an 'offline' install of ia32-libs! That and, from what I understand - they have 'discontinued' ia32-libs on the newest versions of Linux too (replaced with "multiarch" er something)! Plus, anyone who digs deep enough into this release will KNOW how to install this package on an OS other than Ubuntu 12.04.3, and installing ia32-libs on their own would be *simple*!
That is something I will never get "too specific" on around here, because then I'm sure that will introduce a whole plethora of people asking "HOW TO UPDATE OS VERSION FOR THIS", when, that's exactly one of the things I'm persistent people should learn on their own through usage and exploration of this package and all of it's contents - as it is! So I do not ever plan on getting too specific about "how to update the OS" or "how to use a different OS" because those nitty gritty details can be learned over time by using this package and digging around in it! If someone asks how to update / use different OS; my honest answer would basically be "figure it out"! Because that IS the goal of this package! To provide a perfectly working example of a fully functional server... Once one "digs around" it enough, they will just know how to do that, and not even have to ask! They will be able to "just do it" (like Nike said LOL)!
But anyway, yes, you're free to do whatever you want with it... That's why I put it out there! Bearing that in mind, it's really primarily meant for learning or those who just want a functional PW server to "tinker around on", or to run a small server to "dick around on" with family/friends! I don't intend for it to be used in a full fledged "production environment" although if you (anyone) wanted to, feel free to do so! That being said, "security" wasn't a primary focus of this package (and it should be for a production environment), although it does of course include some pretty basic security... Speaking of which I have actually located a small potentially minor "security hole" in it, and that will be patched in this newest upcoming release/update on the official 10 year anniversary!
All that being said, of course I wouldn't be too happy if someone/anyone else started sharing it elsewhere and tried to claim credit for it, like they put it together themselves, but I'm almost sure that's bound to happen too (and I may never even know it)! But nonetheless it's out there for people to pretty much do whatever they want with it!
- - - Updated - - -
But yea my goal isn't to have everything the most "up to date", but rather just striving for full functionality! Even if it means using outdated stuff, heck PW 131-155 itself, is, "outdated" !!!

Yeah, I got you. But in some way I feel like working on with linux is a big steap to make when you doesn't know anything of servers and programming... But in the other hand I completly understands you. For instance, if you already had made a "perfectly package" (not judging or comparing nothing, btw, one more time, thanks for all) I couldn't learn a bunch of stuff that I learned in this "journey".I'll stay tune to your 10th year anniversary. I'm execited with it!
And I'll think more about it, because, as I sad, for those who just want do play with your friends and do nothing about "code" etc (linux can scarry, lol). FOR ME feels like docker is all about it. Just do a docker-compose up, and your good to go. But I'll think more.
Thanks for replying me, and thanks for your your package, changed my life, for real.
God bless.

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
I can understand Linux for someone who has never touched it could *certainly* be intimidating! Especially the Server version, since there's no GUI - and next to everyone RELIES on GUI now-a-days :(:
But for those cases, I would still offer my "services", for "hire" of course, to install and set up a small server for someone! To me, there's something wrong with anyone charging for these files, since NONE of "us" own them, PW does! But, if you offer a 'service' of installing and setting it up for someone (or even 'maintaining' one), those are "services" that are very valid of receiving payment / monetary compensation!
Just like how I do offer this package for free, primarily because it contains and is /about/ something that's not mine (PW)... But at the same time I put a LOT of hard work, effort, and time into this - so, I will also gladly accept "tips"... Which BTW I HATE having that "donate" button and I hate that some people call it "donation" because it's LEGALLY (at least in the USA) NOT considered a "donation"... In order to be LEGALLY considered a "donation" you HAVE to be a NON PROFIT 501(C)... Technically, and LEGALLY - it has to be called/considered a "TIP" (which of course are LEGALLY required to be "reported" to the proper governmental agencies for taxation purposes of course (if you exceed a certain amount per year [I think it's $600 - if you make more than $600 / year doing something - you're "supposed" to report it])!!!
That being said I think I'm going to go [DEL] my "donate" button right now, and come up with an alternative way for anyone who wants to, to "tip" me :):

Yes I "can" be done, but, just because something CAN be done; does NOT mean it SHOULD be done...
Look at Windows Server (LOL two words that should never be used in the same sentence IMHO)!
But, I do suppose if it gets someone ~ "to get their foot in the door" ~ then by all means! "Have at it"! Although, I do believe it's that kind of mind set that produces <cough> garbage </cough> like "Windows 'server'"... People just are TOO damn wrapped up in their UI, that even if they come into it with good intent (to eventually "get off" of the UI), UI does tend to make things more "simple"... But I don't care how simple it makes things, or how little resources it uses, which is my main gripe BTW, that UI literally WASTES resources that could be better spent (like on the server LOL)! So, maybe I'm too old school, but, I don't care how much resources you have (how "beefy" your machine is), or how little of resources any given UI "wastes"; ANY waste is still waste, IMHO!
I would still recommend to do like I did, just dive in head first not knowing anything and ~ like NIKE said ~ JUST DO IT!!!
PS> honestly, I would have NO clue how to set this up with UI! I would need your help too :P:

I agree with you, using terminal make things more clear (not simple some times), and Windows Server is something I don't get it...
A server wich starts with already 5gb of ram.
Windows it's self is a mess, Gates is more concern about "saving" mankind other than his own product. (NWO?)
Feels like need somebody with some balls to cut x86 arch and cut data collection in win 10 to make it more usable...
But in the other hand, normies needs it... Do you imagine your mom using Gopher?
Democracy is the will of majority, it isn't about equality. Windows is that.
Only thing that keeps me using it is for gaming....

There are tons of changes, some little some "monumental"... I don't really "log" what I'm doing any more as I tend to work too fast to be able to do so, to do so would have just slowed me to a crawl...
But some of the more major things that I have done/remembered I can mention (for anyone interested)!
For starters, I don't remember or know why webapps/ was being used as a storage area! Yes you can actually install all versions of servers at the same time, and for some ungodly reason webapps/ became a storage area too; which (needless to say) was NO good. Especially since tomcat (AFAIK) caches everything in webapps/! So, I have completely restructured tomcat so that webapps not actually in use, are stored in a storage OUTSIDE of webapps/!!!
Also, in building the new build I realized how quickly I was losing track of which version I had 'active', so - while this feature may be not very useful to most (that don't constantly switch versions like their underwear) - it surely is for me especially when I'm "building". I added a [v.XXX] to the one pwAdmin page ("server configuration") so you cannot really "forget" which version you're on!
Beyond that, I also added notes and a webpage of notes, for the d_c2scmd and general console commands!
Fixed some map related issues, such as "map out of phase with server" issues...
and of course I modified all of the different versions "gs" daemons to have a functioning "monster spawner", properly 'read' ptemplate.conf, and also read the wallow settings too!
I also fixed character/toon XML editing for pwAdmin, character/toon XML editing stopped working somewhere around 151 and I never looked into it! So I figured for this release I should! And it actually turned out to be something REALLY simple! In short it was 'calling' an old DB name... It was calling for the old name "reserved1", instead of the new "spouse"! Well anyway, that's kind of some technical BS but - in short - you can once again edit character/toon XML data in pwAdmin once again! This is working for ALL versions in the release..!
There was also a semi-small security issue I found, which has been resolved... It should be pretty darn minor in the first place, but I fixed it nonetheless! Although on another hand it really doesn't/shouldn't matter too much since this release/package is primarily meant for learning/experimenting or running a pretty small server for yourself/family/friends! It is NOT meant (right out of the box) to be used in a 'production environment' (so security has never been a large focus)! But there's no way I could continue to allow it to exist once it came into my knowledge!
- - - Updated - - -
There is one more thing I may eventually have to fix also - but I worked on it and tried for like THREE (3) days to no avail! So if and when I DO discover an ACTUAL fix, I will be redoing, not the WHOLE package, but at least v155 (so the SAE server ISO, and the 155 client)...
That problem is, a21 and a22, er is21 and is22 (Lothranis and Momaganon AKA "heaven" and "hell") have an issue with the REGION.CLT/SEV and the [region] tags (which denote "safe zones")...
So far the 'temporary' "fix" was to remove [region] tags from the region.clt files client side, but leave the server SEV in tact (so that safe zones still exist)...
This seems to have removed the WORST part of (whatever is truly going on here), because prior to removing the [region] flags from within the region.clt - the client would almost IMMEDIATELY error out, forcing you to close the client and re-log!
At least in it's current state, you can actually play on maps 21 and 22! But I'm sure there's an underlying issue which I may one day (hopefully ultimately) get to the bottom of!
- - - Updated - - -
Okay so that map issue thing is really quite serious, if you're interested you can follow that here ~ http://forum.ragezone.com/f751/v1-5-5-client-downgraded-1153360/index4.html#post8985872
But, I *REALLY* HAVE to find a true FIX for this as, I believe it currently has the capacity to "down" your/the server !!!

Just bear in mind, there's a (potentially) massive issue with two of the maps in v155 RN (right now)... If and when that is resolved there will be an update!

Negative, it specifically checks for 12.04.3... This is due to the fact that this package has ZERO external dependencies (that is, it has ia32-libs *included* and installs them for you - and they are *specific* to 12.04.3)... So, you could install this with absolutely NO internet at all, and have a completely working server from a blank HDD! That's why I built it that way!
- - - Updated - - -
Technically you can, but that's only if you *really* know what you're doing (including how to bypass the built in check)... And as such, I cannot "support" this {read: it's only for advanced users}

Cmon man, that's about as basic as pressing a power button!
note: as noted before, you do NOT have to install ia32-libs yourself, the package will do that for you (IE: do NOT follow the videos to the "T", use them as a REFERENCE ONLY)

Client cannot be 'extracted', it has to use the installer - if it's not working right A) check the checksums to make sure you got a good DL B) try 'compatibility mode' for Win7!

I keep getting Segmentation Fault when I try to install Ubuntu 12.04.3, followed the vid you posted on the first page of this thread and again above. Tried initially with VMware player 15 as you'd said there was issues with 16, I get literally only as far as the first screen where you pick English > Install Ubuntu Server > and then boom. Read a lot of posts saying this is issue with "newer kernels" (which surely that old Ubuntu version isn't?) and VMware 15, and fixed in 16. So tried 16. Also tried 14. All exactly same result. Any suggestions please? :)

This is a known issue, yes Ubuntu 12.04.3 itself will NOT work with vmware 16... Also, it will NOT work with any lower version either - ONCE you've installed 16... The only thing I can deduce is that 16 installed something that is not (or cannot be) removed during an uninstall... Because we've tried completely removing 16, installing 15, and it still doesn't work at that point...
I have yet to attempt to find out why/what must be removed (additionally/manually) in order to successfully downgrade from 16 to 15! But I know it works on 15 for sure because I use 15.5.6 and have *never* upgraded to 16 (I actually can't because I refuse to use Win10)...
So, options (so far) are as follows:
A) (figure out how to successfully) downgrade 16 to 15
B) use vbox instead
C) use on a physical machine (instead of any VM)
D) perform a system wipe/restore and only install VMWare 15 (NOT 16)!
- - - Updated - - -
I myself cannot "look into" downgrading 16 to 15 since I do not have Win10... So if anybody out there wants to "look into" how to actually (and successfully) downgrade VMWare 16 => 15 ; please, let me know! Best idea to do so would be to do a "clean" installation while running PROCMON (process monitor), and save the log file - then you'll see EVERY little action it takes while installing. Which could point us to whatever has to be manually removed or "downgraded"!

Thanks very much for replying. Funny thing is, I did install 15 first because had read your comments on that. I only installed 16 AFTER I got the segmentation fault and was trying to find solutions to it. I may give vbox a go but was already considering setting up a physical machine for it so might go that route too. Many thanks.

12.04.3 segfaults on vwmare 16, but 12.04.4 does not. there are checks in the setup that you can modify to use on .4 if that's what you want to do

you should download new one or else check the checksum if it you donwload properly because i last time i follow the tip o sir 343 they told check checksum if its different with log of owner meaning your file are corrupted and you cant install properly

Oh wow! I figured it was something 16 installs that caused 15 to not work for somebody I tried troubleshooting it on!
Maybe it's also a Win10 thing! Maybe something Win10 is preventing it from working on any VMware (not just 16x)... ... ...
Interesting (and just one MORE reason I will NEVER "downgrade" to Win10)!
I do personally prefer VMWare for VMs, but I did see it work on vbox on a Win10 host, when VMWare wouldn't...
A physical machine / HDD (or SSD) is always preferred - especially if it's a server that's actually going to be 'used'! VM's are good for 'testing' or 'building' ; but for any actual use I'd certainly recommend a physical machine/HDD/SSD!

That is really different because everyone that I've seen attempt to install Ubuntu 12.04.3 in VMWare 16 (and now maybe 15 too according to some posts above - so maybe a Win10 thing) they get the segmentation fault error, even if they got a good download and the checksum matches...
Are you sure you didn't install to VBOX not VMWare? Because I know Ubuntu12.04.3 works on a Win10 host in VBox...

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
There's a new PW_DEV.iso  (took care of some stuff I failed/forgot to update in there)
So, options (so far) are as follows: A) (figure out how to successfully) downgrade 16 to 15 B) use vbox instead C) use on a physical machine (instead of any VM) D) perform a system wipe/restore and only install VMWare 15 (NOT 16)!
So I tried with Oracle Virtualbox and got it all working (on Win 10), never ran any segmentation fault errors. I did have general problems with your ISOs - Virtualbox won't mount them, Windows won't mount them, checksums checked out though. In fact the only thing that would open them was 7z (which gives warning "There are some data after the end of the payload data") so extracted the files out with that and then rebuilt a new ISO with ImgBurn, fed that into Virtualbox and then all was good.
One either minor hiccup (just in case this helps anyone) is when I'm booting the VM up, I was kinda expecting as soon as it gave login prompt, that the daemon service would already be running and I could fire up PW client and log in, but I'd sometimes get weird errors like it'd show me my chars to pick from but then give an error trying to actually log in. Chased this around for a bit and in the end realised it was nothing - it just takes time for the server to come up and be truly ready and I was trying too fast heh
Going to test out 1.3.1 vs 1.3.6 as 1.3.6 seems to have weird tideborn-related stuff which is half there, like can craft weapons but they are wrong types (claw not dagger) and you get a quest saying go to Raging Tides and will open up the teleport waypoint, but nothing happens.
What I'm really curious tho is about events like Dragon Temple. In every server (both official PWI when it ran and priv servers) its always Tues 8pm server time. Are events like that enabled in these builds? Can you edit the times/frequency? I see those GM commands for initiating events like snowmen but DT, tigers, CoA not listed on there. Thanks!

That does actually make sense about the ISO, it's a custom ISO that I created in PowerISO (and then I touched them all to coordinate their timestamps)... So, some software may "yell" that they're "not valid"... I do know PowerISO and VMWare still can use them without problem. I am sorry to hear VBox didn't extend that same courtesy =\
Yes, you have to wait a bit before you can actually fully log in / play; it's not instant - no matter how beefy your machine...
v136 does have a LOT of "stuff", that was pretty much when I was in my PWp infancy and others around here and myself were pretty much trying to make 136 as close to "new" as possible (which at the time was Raging Tides / Genesis...! So, while I did do my best to try to still stay close to "retail"/"official"; there are TONS of things that have nothing to do with any actual v136... It's like 136 on steroids to try to be more like 141/142/144... Just without genies or auto-path... Or 79/100 skills IIRC... And still probably my favorite version despite not being "stock"; because that's where/when I learned the most, and that's also when the game was kind of at it's peak IMHO without crap like genies and auto-pathing (not to mention the additional races/classes)!
I never did do much with the "built in" events; but I'd imagine they should be there, at least whatever was actually "around" during that version (in its infancy)... If not, you can possibly tweak it yourself :): One of the first places you should look for events (like assault on Arch for ex.) is NPCGEN.DATA; pay attn to the "triggers" list, as "triggers" are how many "events" internally functioned... That and possibly AIpolicy... ... ...

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Yep, I just downloaded VBox, and it sure as shit does seem to have a problem with my ISO's! Why I'm not entirely sure seeing as literally EVERY other program I have that handles ISO's does not seem to have a problem with them!
While your method produced results, it does seem a bit convoluted - to have to 'rebuild' them!
Next time, rather than rebuilding them (and the tedious process it entails) - just use (just about?) anything that mounts ISO's as "virtual discs", such as "daemon tools lite", or "Virtual Clone Drive" - mount them as a "live disc" on your host OS; then tell VBOX to "use" those (as if they were physical drives on your host PC)! Or of course my favorite - PowerISO
Much less tedious than having to "rebuild" them! But yes, VBox apparently has a bug up it's ass with my ISOs (leaves no wonder as to why I've always liked VMWare better [VMWare also has no issues with my ISOs]) !!!

I'm gonna have to disagree! I think it's more of a Win10 thing... As noted above dude couldn't get it working even on 15, but the host OS was Win10... So, explain then why would it work on 15 with Win7 as a host but not VMW15 with Win10 as a host...
Hint: not because VMWare sucks, but, because Windows 10 *SUCKS*
- - - Updated - - -
add:
but VMWare 16 does suck, since it requires Win10
Oh well, :(:
Will still be able to use it on a Linux host :D:
So there's the TRUE solution
Get Linux (it's a REAL OS, not that Win10 GARBAGE), then, if you "NEED" windows for any reason - run IT in a VM !!!!!!!
</offtop>
But anywho; the real problems/solutions are that apparently Win10/VMWare don't seem to like Ubuntu 12.04.3, so a solution for that is to use VBox...
Vbox doesn't seem to like my ISOs - so easiest solution for that is to mount ISO using something like PowerISO, Daemon Tools Lite, or Virtual Clone Drive, THEN "mount" in VBox!
Optimal setup (besides running the server on it's own physical machine/hdd) is of course running on a Win7 host with VMWare 15.x...
But, if you "HAVE" to run on Win10, you're likely going to wind up using VBox, and something like Daemon Tools or Virtual Clone Drive (or PowerISO) in unison with VBox...
Unless, or until someone comes up with a Win10/VMware "solution"... I would love to, but I don't have Win10... So anyone that wants to, feel free!
Instructions:Perfect World Private - ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤This is a complete package of the game "Perfect World" for PCThe server from this package runs on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS x64The client runs on WinXP+ operating systemsThere is also a 'tools' disc included (pw_dev.iso) so that one can modify the server/client to their likingThe server has been made a simple and straightforward installation. All you have to do to install the server is mount/burn the ISO and run the corresponding installation for it. "./install-pw" will install v136, "./install-131" will install v131, "./install-146" will install v146, and "./install-fw" will install fw(v0517). v136 is the "base" package and REQUIRED to install any of the "addons" which include v131, v146, and fw(v0517). All can be installed at the same time but they cannot be ran simultaneously (only one can be ran at a time). There is a service included to switch between the active installed versions called pwversion (merely type "service pwversion" in the Linux terminal to switch between active versions). These can also be installed as a system service/daemon (if you have a worthy system [with enough RAM]) so that there is NO human interaction required to boot up the server besides pressing the power button (or starting up the virtual machine). Note: If you don't have a good enough system or just don't desire to run as a system service/daemon you can simply navigate a web browser to your server @ http://your.server.ip.address/admin to start one game map at a time. The servers HTTPD, MySQL, Tomcat, etc, are all started automatically no matter what (for this reason). If your servers IP changes (for any reason), use "./ipset.sh" located in /root/ to change the IP configurations that were set during the installation. The client doesn't really need 'instructions' whatsoever, just mount/burn the ISO and install, then it's ready to launch/play. You only need to set the IP of the server to connect to in serverlist.txt (server.lua for FW). For more advanced users there is an auto patcher (CPW) with this package and the two files: updateserver.txt and mainuni.xml also need the IP of the server set in them for the patcher to work. There is an entire WEALTH of knowledge about this package in a file called "adminnotes.txt" that can actually be found in two locations. A copy of adminnotes.txt is included with pw_dev.iso in a directory named AdminNotes and with the v136 base installation package in /root/notes/Some of the more technical aspects/details:This (server) package (and all of the 'addons') *MUST* be installed as the root user/account of Linux! This (server) package MUST be installed on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS x64 (included)!Ports (what ports this package will utilize):-29000 this is the game port (server-client game communications)-80 a basic website that is ran on the server so that accounts can be registered (and more even including a help desk)-8080 a tomcat JSP container for the above website and administrator controls-3306 the MySQL database for user accounts (should not be open to WAN if running a public server)Default passwords (CaSe SeNsItIvE):MySQL = username:root password:root (access from localhost ONLY)MySQL = username:pwAdmin password:root (access from ANY host)[ie... for BatGM, or Navicat].htaccess (/opt/lampp/security/restricted.users & restricted.groups) = username:pwAdmin password:rootpwAdmin = roothesk (help desk/ticket system) = username:Administrator password:adminLink to first post regarding the newest update: Click HereInstallation Tutorial Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WMT...ature=youtu.be

If you're specifically looking for that time frame (~around 10 years prior to now); you'll most likely enjoy 136 and/or 146, at least those would be the closest releases out of this package...

Well TBH I haven't been following any other releases since creating and maintaining this package!
- - - Updated - - -
And as far as this package/release goes I have made it my entire goal to be as "stock" as possible (so people can make their OWN customizations rather than deal with somebody elses)!
The only version in this package that is "highly modified" would be 136 (the base package); although it is "heavily modified" it was modified primarily to resemble a "stock" 139/144 (with stock and stock-like "customizations")...!
- - - Updated - - -
So based on all that I would recommend to (at least start with) v136 from this package... It also has the most amount of "knowledge" and "tools" available so that you can customize just about anything you could want to!

So based on all that I would recommend to (at least start with) v136 from this package... It also has the most amount of "knowledge" and "tools" available so that you can customize just about anything you could want to!
OK, Thank you for your time ;)

Just as a heads up to all; I will likely be pushing out at least one more update to this (once my troubleshooting has been completed)

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
The password for the pwAdmin page should just be root.
Can you get it to allow you in with that password?

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Not sure what's happening then. Has your IP address of the server changed (via DHCP) or do you have it set as static?
I know on my box, I created a DHCP lease reservation for the virtual machine's network interface, so that it always received the same IP address. I believe the IP address that's entered during setup it hard-coded into the various services running on the box, but it doesn't prevent the actual server from grabbing whatever the DHCP server hands to it. (i.e. DHCP could give you a different IP for the server after a reboot, but the services are still trying to run on the IP that it started with.)
I'm not 100% sure on that part, but I would recommend checking that part first.
Also, if your IP has changed, I believe that there is a command built-in to the package that updates all the IP address entries. I'll have to go search for that first and I'll report back if I find it.
Worst case scenario, nuke the VM and start over. Start to finish, installation of this server should only take appx 15 minutes, tops.

yes there is, it's in /root/ and it's called ipset.sh
so, simply run ./ipset.sh the moment you log in to change config IPs

Default password for pwAdmin is "root" - if you type ANYTHING other than root the first time - you automatically are changing it to whatever ELSE you type, therefore if you type "FUCKYOU" the FIRST time you log into pwAdmin, your new password moving forward would be "FUCKYOU"... Likewise, if you type NOTHING at all, this is your password moving forward, IE your password is "<null>", and will always be <null> moving forward... The only way to change that is to edit the pwAdmin files manually yourself!
That being said, chances are you cannot log in due to map 61 not being started... If you're running anything above 146 I think it is, for 151 you have to start - I can't even remember RN, and for 153 and 155 you have to start map61 / IS61... You will not be able to log in if the map the character is "born on" isn't "up"
- - - Updated - - -
ETA: IS62, if you're using v151 it's actually is62 you must start (to be "born")... 153 and 155 it's is61...

the start map has never changed after 1.5.1 it has always been is62
edit: ok, I'm wrong it's 61 (I stopped dealing with pwi since the w2 leak)

for 153 and 155 it's is61 ~ that I am 100% sure of
I'm not 100% sure on 151 without firing it up :P: but I do know it's either is62 [strike]or is63[/strike]

I quit playing PW back in 2012, so I have no clue what that is, or how it works =\
First and foremost - as with any 'feature' or 'place'; I'd make sure the proper map(s) are running! That along with any configurations needed (like how you can turn PVP on/off, or TW on/off, ETC!!!
Whatever your problem is may be as simple as setting a configuration and/or starting a map(s)...
Maybe someone who actually knows will chime in  :):

homestead is one of the last instances. is80, (and possibly is81?)
if you ever need to know what a certain map is, go to element/maps/a** and look at precinct.clt and you'll find the names in there (this is a text file with the clt extension for the client)
