What flavor of Linux are you using? I also have to ask, did you follow directions (or the 'video') to the T???
It's hard to even think about what it could be, especially since numerous other people have installed this package just as it was designed/intended without error/problems =\

...but if for any reason you didn't follow directions/the video "to the T" then this is why you're having problems... I really made this to be the simplest to install, so you cannot deviate from the intended installation whatsoever. Not renaming any files or directories, not editing anything (that you're not explicitly told to), not modifying any file or directory 'permissions' (chmod) -- NOTHING...
I'm really not trying to be rude in any way shape or form, but it's the only thing I can think of that would make sense. (That installation was deviated from somehow or another) At least until provided with much more specific detail...
I think i got it but why is "Game Database Daemon ./gamedbd 0 Offline" always offline?
Still not getting any ping when i launch the elementclient even though it says online on the page were you register accounts.
Still isn't getting any ping even with gamedb up.
Got it working.
can anyone please post GM commands or ... that link if they are already posted please ? i can't find them.
What GM commands are you looking for? To access the in game GM console press Ctrl + G, provided you have GM privileges.
...nvm about gm cmds cuz i cant start the server ... i think i got a problem at nano hosts , nano config.php and nano index.jps ... can anyone post some pics with how should those 3 parts of server install should look please ? ... i rly cant get trough ... please help
#1 you should probably try to SEARCH the boards before asking something that's been answered probably 100 times...
#2 you should probably learn how to read, I have kept and included ALL my NOTES with this release... MAJOR //facepalm
Putting the cart before the horse are we??? Uhg, the ONLY help I can give you is this:

Aside that, the only help I can offer is to tell you to start this little thing called READING... ... Do it as MUCH as you can! Do it in other places than here too (this board is not for help on Linux, or help with networking [though I was nice enough to make that one tut]... etc...) Check out these AWESOME places called GOOGLE and WIKI -- they're really great... Between the two you can really almost learn anything!
hey 343 ... i finished and started hosting ... the only ptolem is that i can enter on register and admin site from another pc that i got at home and my gf cant from her home... she is writing the same ip i write when i enter the website and it says that she was unable to connect... can u help me abit please ?

btw .. i dont mean to bother you ...i am just trying to learn
That is the difference between LAN and WAN IP... (and making sure you have the proper ports open/forwarded properly)
at home (LAN) another PC on the lan will 'access' your 'server' by entering it's LAN IP
ie... say your server is 10.0.0.51 and your PC is 10.0.0.1; well from your PC (10.0.0.1) you enter 10.0.0.51 into a web browser, and if you're 'hosting' a web server it will display whatever website is being hosted from your host (10.0.0.51) machine...
Now (look back at the image I created in that thread if you don't understand), WAN IP is your 'public' IP -- set by your ISP, will be something like 58.681.99.155, so; your friend (or any one else {'customer' etc}) would have to enter 58.681.99.155 into their browser to see any websites that you are hosting from your network... (ofc for this to actually work you not only have to be 'serving' whichever service is being sought (web, pw, MySQL, whatever...) but you will also have to have the correct port open/forwarded to the correct machine (which is nothing I can help with, it varies per different router)... but say you were hosting a web server on 10.0.0.51 -- well then -- in your router you would want to forward port 80 to 10.0.0.51. Say you were hosting a PW server @ 10.0.0.100 -- well then -- you would want to open/forward port 29000 to 10.0.0.100.
The only next step further than using IPs is domain names. You can actually 'buy' or 'pay' for one, or there are many places (ie... no-ip) that offer some for free. Now that is of course how most of 'the web' works, because it is much simpler to remember GOOGLE.COM opposed to having to remember 74.125.127.99... Now some IPs are 'static' meaning they never change so granted still not ideal, if you were to remember the 74.125.127.99 for example (if it is/was static) would never change... on the other hand most RESIDENTIAL IPs are DYNAMIC (meaning they change pretty much at will) so you obtain a domain name so that no matter what people can navigate to MYDOMAIN.COM instead of having to remember IPs or get updates on what the servers IP becomes should it change. When you have a domain (even something like no-ip) you are constantly 'telling it' what your IP is (manually and/or via [automated] software). So even though your IP may be 58.681.99.155 today, if it changes tomorrow for any reason then you (or your software) tell your domain that it's changed and what it's changed to, so now people can navigate to your network via this simple 'name' (URL instead of IP)... So no matter what your IP is or changes to, people can find you by remembering and navigating to MYDOMAIN.COM ;)
343, did you stick the warsoul npc somewhere else? :) He's not in the middle of Archosaur, I will add him again, but thought I'd better check first with you. Are you going to add him in a future update?
Will look into this ;)
MAJOR update coming soon ;)
Yay! Thanks :) With regards to your update, have you included all the latest head models and fashions? Only wondering cos I've managed to add all the male/female headgear, and just female fashion (with working icon surfaces woohoo!).
Will export my stuff for a merge, but if you've already done it, it'll save me some work :p Once I done the blokes fashion, I will release what I've done, maybe you can add that in an update :)
