@crxfreak does it mean that the server files can only be installed on a LINUX based system and it doesnt work if i install it to win7. while the client can be installed both in linux and windows os?? what about ubuntu?

A few mentions on the newest release 343. I had already implemented q20, however was not using an NPC, so I am importing needed info from your build for this. I found that 29930 has a task link of 29929, however there is no task of 29929, the task for q20 is 29928. I have corrected this however the NPC is still not showing up for me. Digging a little deeper I realize my q20 & yours have different map ids so I correct this in the task rewards. NPC is still invisible for me. If I remove the task he shows up, only thing not changed at this point is UNKNOWN_016_c in developer section, which I can only guess tells more info of what it is doing in hexcode. How can I correct this as I'm clueless up to now with making new tasks or editing the developer section. Thanks again for the hard work.
marriage quest is working now?
still didn't work for me help pls
What else did you change in the Genesis Interface, or are you just talking about my minor corrections to some of it?
I do not know why it would not be working for you, as I have no problems what so ever on my end. First thing I can tell you though is you did NOT want to change that number...
In list 56/57 (depending on which sELedit you're using) the NPC's ID is 29930
within that list - line 17 (active quest) should point to 29929
In list 45/46 29929 - lists the ONLY quest he gives => 29928
the ID 29930 from list 56/57 is the ID that needs to be used for NPCGEN to 'spawn' this NPC. He is also known as the Quest NPC and the Reward NPC within tasks...
Absolutely nothing in 'dev sec' should be altered either... And this NPC should be working "right off the bat". If he is not surely there is a logical explanation for it, my guesses would include:
- ANY alterations to elements
- ANY alterations to tasks
- ANY alterations to NPCGEN
- Not starting with 'clean' (empty) HDD's / improperly trying to 'upgrade' an old installation - opposed to creating a 'fresh' installation (client and server)...
Other than starting all over with a fresh installation I do not know what could guarantee 'fixing' it, as I do not know the specifics to what exactly you have done...
Although with a 100% 'clean' installation I can guarantee 'he' works ;)

Honestly, I do not even recall :(:
OK elements.data ID 29929 is why NPC wasn't showing up, was assuming it was the actual task link. NPC shows up now with task available however does not port me in, I have to assume it has to do with my map being a different number than yours, even though I have corrected the task to direct to the proper map id for my server.
You posted a reply before I could edit that in, I have changed that under rewards with the same response quest is taken then no port in, and quest shield returns. Even tried adding it to the info tab, but no change.
I know this response will be quite 'stupid' or 'common sense' but
Do you have the map started ??

Aside that, if you're using this release in its entirety I know it works.
However, I'm assuming you're not since you said you are using a different WID... If this IS the case then aside making sure the map has been started ("q20") you must also change the WID in instance.txt ;)
The WID must match in gs.conf, instance.txt, and tasks.data otherwise 'portals' (NPC/Item/Quests) will not work to 'port' you in an instance ...
Problem solved, when I put your new files in it didn't work as the map ids didn't match, then forgot to put original gs's back in when switching back to my files. As far as which server I have, it is your last release with q20 added by me with your new npc and tasks to get in it.
Either way, problem is solved, and this is the best release out IMO.
343, I was digging through the client files, and came across a huge amount of mob files and am wondering where they came from originally. They have no movement and most if not all I have never seen before.
i got a small question ...
my serverfiles are up to date .. (1 day old) ... but my client is 2 weeks old ... is it possible i have to download the client for each new release ?
got some problems (invisible mounts and rides)
343's newest release has a new map, a new NPC to get to that map, and a new task for the NPC. That is just the stuff I know for a fact he added, files petaining to that are in surfaces.pck, litmodels.pck, and configs.pck, so simplest answer jason would be yes you would need to download the newest client, if for no other reason to extract what is needed, and at that rate you might as well just use the new client and customize it to your needs.
