Thank you for this great release i got finally everything working now,Thank you !! :)
i was unable to figure this file out all the rates are at 0 do i change them to -1 or such? or do i edit the stuff down further for the ofsets?
i dont understand what i am even looking at here
[MESMD_ADJUST]
# MOB_EXPERIENCE_SKILLPOINT_MONEY_DROP
base_offset = -100 0.15 0 0 0
offset1 = -11 0.15 0 0 0
offset2 = -8 0.2 0.05 0.2 0.2
offset3 = -5 0.5 0.2 0.5 0.5
offset4 = -3 0.8 0.6 0.8 0.8
offset5 = 3 1 1 1 1
offset6 = 7 1 1 1 1
;max_offset 100
can someone translate this set to human lol
thenat the top there is
[GENERAL]
logic_level_limit=105
;allow_login_class_mask = 247
allow_login_class_mask = 255
exp_bonus = 0 # EXP bonus
drop_bonus = 0 # Drop bonus
money_bonus = 0 # Money drop bonus
sp_bonus = 0 # SP bonus
do i edit here ? how do i lower xp if its at 0 will it take -1 ect... ?
nah leave the mesmd adjust alone in order to change how fast a char lvls is dependent on the section under general also if its set at zero people on your server shouldnt be lvling at all are you trying to lower EXP rates? or level cap? O_o
I got to this part "-- Mount server ISO (or physical disc), and copy all to system root" and when I typed in "mount /dev/cdrom /cdrom" it took a few seconds and then said "mount: /dev/sr0: unknown device"
in VMware after you mount something to cd/dvd.ide make sure to have your VM connected to the device at the very bottom there is a bunch of icons make sure the disk is lit up and has a green square on the bottom right corner of it all you have to do is click or right click it and click connect then mount /dev/cdrom /cdrom and it should work
Wrong, "0" actually is '1x' Create a character then kill a mob, then check the EXP gained against Perfect World Database when you have "0"'s in ptemplate.conf that = 1x (normal PWi EXP rates)...
Also, you are correct about not wanting to change the [MESMD_ADJUST] offsets... Do not touch these!
No, you really don't; that's kind of like a kid saying they "need" a toy... When we all know you in fact do NOT need toys to 'live' -- however food and water are essential to survival. Likewise GUI is a TOY, and nobody truly needs it. You'd survive just fine off of a kernel and a command promt!
This is surely something to do with not having the ISO properly mounted. My guess personally would be to make sure to tick the 'connected' box, as after you install an OS in VMware if automatically un-connects any mounted ISO's... If that is not it you may want to consult instructions for VMware. (try what AcidRayne instructed you to do, make sure the ISO is properly mounted)...
whoa that weird when i first set my server up and everything was set at zero i wasnt lvling or well it didnt seem like it thats the only reason i said that but i just tryed it and your right you do gain EXP very little tho lolWrong, "0" actually is '1x' Create a character then kill a mob, then check the EXP gained against Perfect World Database when you have "0"'s in ptemplate.conf that = 1x (normal PWi EXP rates)...
yeah i saw it was 0 bonus xp witch is why i wanted to lower base xp
i want to just make it so leveling was slower was all
can i put a -1 in the bonus? or
looking at this i think i might see what it is but its a guess ill play with and return if it fails
[MESMD_ADJUST]
# MOB_EXPERIENCE_SKILLPOINT_MONEY_DROP
base_offset = -100 0.15 0 0 0
the base ill leave as it is
offset1 = -11 0.15 0 0 0
these i think the first field might be level diference so up to -11 lvls below you then xp gained from that mob 15 % bonus to its base 0 skill 0 cash 0 drop changes from base
and as it goes up it looks like the rates increase based on the first colum ? so if i adjust these it appears to be the rates from lvl differencs ...
I just played with these a litle and im not 100% sure ill test later but i believe i did manage to drop overall xp gain ...
QUESTION: Man i know this gets annoying but i was not able to locate in the post...
I followed the vid to setup found all the points you had shown to change your old IP 10.0.0.51 to my IP 192.168.1.97
I also modified every instance of 10.0.0.51 to my ip in the client dir using find all containing
The only thing is seeing isnt a game stopper at all just an annoyance I load the PW client it hits patcher screen to look for updates and the patch notes box is still looking for your 10.0.0.51 and i have not found where to change this on the server or client.
using a gui i tried find all containing your ip but it was to much and crashed my search lol
again it has no affect on game just wanted to change it to my own custom page for the kids or even make it redirect to account creation but i was unable to locate where its setup.
Scratch that i found it windows didnt find everything in client
E:\Games\PW_Client\patcher\skin\mainuni.xml has the offending reference all good on patcher alterations now

Kids these days and their GUI's
*shakes fist and yells get off my lawn*
Ok thanks for the help before, I got it working. Up until now I am stuck. I continued to follow the video and your guide. my server's ip was the same as the one u had in the video there, and when I tried to navigate to it on my web browser it didn't work. When I tried to navigate to the apache-tomcat part of teh vido it said that there was no such file/directory, then I tried to use the one in your guide since it was different and got a few errors. Here is the screenshot, maybe you can tell me what I'm doing wrong now.
![]()
the part you missed is highlighted and blackened/opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/webapps/pwAdmin/WEB-INF/.userconfig.jsp
You also no longer have to worry about Mask Gen, just .userconfig.jsp
ok i modified the ofsets in
[MESMD_ADJUST]
# MOB_EXPERIENCE_SKILLPOINT_MONEY_DROP
base_offset = -100 0.15 0 0 0
all but base and and overall no change in xp tried many combinations :(
Trying to set the bonus value on top of file to a negative cause no xp at all

dude messing with the mesmd (not supposed to mess with those) will most likely cause more problems than it will solve the only way i think your gonna get less EXP than having the rates set to zero is to go and get a ELeditor like sELedit and opens you elments.data in PW_Client>element>data click the drop bar and look for your EXP tables and mess around with that raising the number will make it take more EXP to lvl make sure to do that server side as well as client side (in linux with winscp it /root/pwserver/configs and theres an element.data in there too you have to edit both exactly that same numbers) thats the only other thing i can think of to make people on your server lvl slower also if theres anyone else playing your server you'll have to make a patch or have them download the edited elements.data and put it in there folder
in order to change the ip in this folder you have to cd/opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/webapps/pwAdmin/WEB-INF then hit enter then type nano ".userconfig.jsp" i believe i used winscp to change my ips i found it faster that way imo but you can do it with the linux command i just typed as well (the only difference is with winscp you can open the file use your find button it'll ask what to find and what to change it too have it find 10.0.0.5 and have it changed to your IP but if your new to this i would just use the linux command so you dont get confused)/opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/webapps/pwAdmin/WEB-INF/.userconfig.jsp
PS. sorry for wall of text :/
EDIT:also 343 i have a question myself ive been hearing that everytime the client is updated the .pcks (i think) increase in size and that it wont go past 2GB before something happens so im wondering what happens when it does get too/past 2GB and how to decrease its size again so i can continue to update im not sure of the whole story can you fill me in on the story?o.o
Re-Edit very nub question i downloaded the unpacked client iso and mounted it in VM and now idk how to get it from iso to /opt/cpw/files/new lmfao can anyone tell me linux command?
