You also no longer have to worry about Mask Gen, just .userconfig.jsp
If you look at the screenshot on the 5th line you can see that I entered it right and it didn't work, so I tried it without the period at the front thinking that it just might be a typo.

You are trying to get bash to execute a jsp file... You are supposed to edit not run it...

I was just following the guide, but it didn't work for me like it did in his video, how do I edit it rather then trying to execute it?

in order to change the ip in this folder you have to cd/opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/webapps/pwAdmin/WEB-INF then hit enter then type nano ".userconfig.jsp" i believe i used winscp to change my ips i found it faster that way imo but you can do it with the linux command i just typed as well (the only difference is with winscp you can open the file use your find button it'll ask what to find and what to change it too have it find 10.0.0.5 and have it changed to your IP but if your new to this i would just use the linux command so you dont get confused)

PS. sorry for wall of text :/

EDIT:also 343 i have a question myself ive been hearing that everytime the client is updated the .pcks (i think) increase in size and that it wont go past 2GB before something happens so im wondering what happens when it does get too/past 2GB and how to decrease its size again so i can continue to update im not sure of the whole story can you fill me in on the story?o.o

Re-Edit very nub question i downloaded the unpacked client iso and mounted it in VM and now idk how to get it from iso to /opt/cpw/files/new lmfao can anyone tell me linux command?

Correct, everytime you update CPW will add another 'footer' to the end of every PCK. PCK's can also NOT match or exceed 2GB or the client will not run at all... Obviously in order to keep PCK's under 2GB you will have to either delete things, and or do more frequent 'base releases' opposed to constantly using 'updates'...

How did you get the rest of the release from server_root.iso to the "HDD" ??? Copy it... (then extract it)

Oops I didn't even see Acid's response on the previous page. Thanks a lot acid I'll try that in a bit.

Ok, thanks acid that worked. All of the IPs match as 10.0.0.51 (same as video). However, after I reboot, then I start server (cd /root - then ./star.sh) I still cannot log into the perfect world website. Below are the screenshots of the 3 pages and the webpage. Maybe you guys can make sense.

Put your host on the same network then (make your desktops IP something like 10.0.0.1)

This may also be of some help to you: http://forum.ragezone.com/f695/absol...6/#post6038760

    Add:

Some small updates have been applied. Mainly the video of the installation in post #2 is now brand new and up to date

I've already answered this a few pages back. You need to create the mount point.

    mkdir /cdrom

    then do the mount command;

    mount <path where your .iso is> /cdrom

i don't mind answer question that are hard to find or are not explained to well in the past but when they are extremely simple and have been explain multiple times and in extreme detail thats a little far always make sure to search for a thread and if the thread has alot of post search inside of the thread and if you do find something but and have gone through the trial and error phase and still can't get it then make a post explaining what part about it you don't understand

anyways to answer your question about your error make sure it is spelled right simple as that

Review the path, you messed-up the /'s and the .'s. Always review what you are typing, then look at the command 10x before pressing the ENTER KEY. It's easy to mess the whole system when you are running commands under root.

last time i tryed to extract the unpacked client it overwrite a bunch of files cause it reads all the Chinese letters as diamonds and by doing that it confuses it self like say its /buildings/rando mfolder/random folder/random file with 4 Chinese letters in it

and the next files in the same directory also has 4 chinese letters in it tho completely different lettering linux reads it as diamonds so i was wondering should i have it renamed them instead of replacing them? or will it adding (1) next to it make the client no longer recognize that file and corrupt everything?
