Told y'a, tryz teh, check if it showz teh eth0 as inet6 or nouz. If does, find a clay to edit grub file in etc/lolo.Code:ifconfig
If you got N47 cr4p, reinstall 'ntire ubuntu'n'136[etc[etc] in orderh to check bridged to your physical addressssss. Nau, check teh router config via (default) 192.168.0.1 (or whthever ur router default gtway is) and see if the address u gave to VMware meanz anything to router love. If u haev NAT type netwrk it'lll be cr4p for ths build, someone proves it worng?!
Nanyway taek my wordz and it'll work like mr.proper hidraulico gel. Smooth'n'silky. Drop auto intet6 if u haez Win7 which VMware gibs to it by default for no real purposez.
Merry joy to you. 4zks moar if it pleases.
EDIT : Perhaps what troubles you is inet misconfiguration. Do this as root (sudo -i)
It'll look like this. If it does not, MAKE IT DOES MWAHAHACode:nano /etc/network/interfaces
Nau, all the x's will be transmutulatoconfigured into appropriate numbas of mathematical nirvana. I.E.Code:# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5). # The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address x.x.x.x netmask x.x.x.x broadcast x.x.x.x gateway x.x.x.x
address : The address u wanna be the one and only address in the universe of your PC. (Example : 192.168.0.300) But you can't haz 300 since other numbers will be sad. So stick with 255 for defining solitary bytez. Much info.
netmas : 255.255.255.0 or else chip goes boom! (usually)
broadcast : First two digits of your Address accompanied by two 255's (Example : 192.168.255.255)
gateway : The router gateway which your Windows adapter uses. If u don't know how to acess it go to winOS and find ur network connection and read the stats of it/properties. Given the previous examples, for instance, the imaginary routed will use 192.168.0.1 meaning that you can haz up to 244 different computers connected to it ergo 255.255.255.0
After you're done editing with NANO, press CTRL + O in order to save (press enter to save it when it asks) anD CTRL+X in order to send it back to hell. Nau, jus type reboot and watch magics! Magics I tell ya!
If it doesn't work, make some love to the router configuration. Check ur serial if anything else mishapenz ... call the provider ISP and tell them that ur router is cr4p, lolo! Stay rigid.
Sendz themz using pwAdmin panul end send via e-mail to user IDs. Some Fashionz won't workz, but who caerz for gibsing itemz nanyway?! Lan party amazing, just add some coinz and lvl 10 mountz/wingz and dac it. GMlike itemz ruin teh game which iz already a much chore. Carez, regardzies. We're hosting a tiny server, 5 people, and are finding it really hard to get the items we want. We're using VMware to host, currently using v1.4.6. pwdatebase item #'s don't seem to work for spawning most items via web panel, or we're missing the hash id's, but we can't seem to spawn the items that we want to use. We've managed to get the server up and everyone can connect, but we really just need an easy way to access the store items and higher level gear/mounts/etc just to play around. Prices etc don't matter we're giving everyone as much as they want, we just really need an easy way to access the items. We're actually looking for someone to help us configure it, but even being pointed in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

EPIC QUESTION / I can't get into GETITEM plugin. It asks Username and Password, but I've no idea what they are nor what I'm supposed to do. Help!

Do you think you could learn to spell???
I could barely read what you just said Keiko123
EDITED : I have a question. During the PWserver installation of 136, it asked me for LAN and WAN addresses. Where can I change them, what file exactly? I'm a bit tired of ls-ing and opening everything separately. I also think it's an important information to change it via text editor if possible since I'm sure that it's in some conf or xml, txt etc... I just can't find which one. Thing is...my plugins in pwAdmin do not see the IP that I assigned when I started the server and even though it's static now for the V.machine the plugins still search for the IP which I inserted when I started LAN/WAN. So where can I edit those values in order to have all plugins fully capable of working? Some of them just give me "page not found".

Well, yes, yes. Spelling is good for your health. Proper typing may lead to an adequate reading without much usage of brain nor willingness to actually solve problems. And solving is the best part! Uniqueness shouldn't be an obstacle, yes, yes.

Mr, Fluzzy :
Step 1 - Check whether you have a router device (TPlink, Dlink, Cisco) and I hope that you know how to configure the IPs in it and allow ports. If not, you should ask someone more competent in your near vicinity.
Step 2 - Install Ubuntu from the package by using "easy install" and be sure to NOT make it "Nat" type. In fact, if you can't choose it there's an option in the VMware box in VM>Settings>Network adapter. The configuration should be "Connected" and "Bridged (connected directly to physical network)". Replicate physical state is an neat option if you're not using RJ45 cat 5 cable to connect PC network card to the router itself.
Step 3 - Install PWS of your choice. If you add FW, be sure to make it service-like. Otherwise it won't work.
Step 4 - PWS will ask for your IP of choice. It has to be on the same network mask like your router. (Default 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1). Check your network address by going to Start > Run ~ type CMD and in CMD type ipconfig /all
Step 5 - Add the PWS IP based on the subnet mask of your network. If your network address is 192.168.0.101, make the IP for VMware to be 192.168.0.105.
Step 6 - Configure ROUTER by typing the default gateway address in browser. In it, configure the DHCP so that it allows the connection 192.168.0.105 and be sure to firstly check the MAC address (usually router finds it by checking what's connected). Port forward 2005 and 2006 by using the gateway IP and list ALL protocols (just in case you want to play it with someone outside LAN, but still do it since sometimes router acts weirdly)
Step 7 - Reboot VMware and type "sudo su" to enter root. As a root, type "ifconfig" and see if eth0 (default name) is listing a regular "inet" or just "inet6". If under inet it says "192.168.0.105", you're good to go to pwAdmin, after you start the actual server by typing as root
followed byCode:cd /PWServer/136/
(or ./start_min just for this testing)Code:./start_max.sh
After that you're going to check exactly this. Make sure that your browser doesn't add HTTPS or is using proxy.
Step 8 - If there's no inet option under ifconfig command, you have to editCode:http://192.168.0.105:8080/pwAdmin/You canCode:/etc/network/interfacesbut I prefer the easyCode:sudo vi /etc/network/interfaces.Code:nano /etc/network/interfaces
address should be, in this case, 192.168.0.105Code:# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5). # The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address x.x.x.x netmask x.x.x.x broadcast x.x.x.x gateway x.x.x.x
netmask should be, in this case, 255.255.255.0
broadcast should be, in this case, 192.168.255.255
gateway should be, in this case, 192.168.0.1
DNS are not important since gateway configures automatically with dhcp of its own.
Step over 9000 - reboot. Sudo -i. cd /PWServer/blabla/ >>>>> ./start_max.sh >>>> check pwAdmin and its plugins.
I already gave myself an epic GM sword etc and I figured this all out without any knowledge of linux/ubuntu, ports, IPs at all. So c'mon, do some work!

thanks for the reply im going to see if this works.Spoiler:
Invalid Service Request when trying to make anything at all. How to solve this. What file should be edited by using strictly terminal ubuntu.
--------
So to add to my question list :
1 - How to add fashion items which "send mail" lists as valid?
2 - How to configure the IPs of LAN/WAN since I can't find it in /opt/.../
3 - How to add more than one item such as "speaker" item and where would I have to edit plugins for such a thing?
This is an extra question - Is it possible to run the pw_tools programs (some of them) without using ubuntu gui OS?
I have searched trough entire forum and I couldn't find anything which makes up for my problem, even though there are some solutions but nothing which solved my problem in particular, which led me to open the topic. So, please, don't give me links of topics with 300 pages and say how I should search more.Help, or don't help. That's only just.
My linux/ubuntu knowledge is restricted, but I do learn based on trial/error. I'm sure that more experienced people on this forum can help by at least giving a hint of the procedure for which I'm sure will need editing the particular data.
I'm using a ubuntu terminal and "The complete PW package" by 343 (this link) where there's no clear significant effort to explain the method of usage of the pw_tools in regards to editing files from WinOS to Ubuntu via VMware (or any other program for that manner). While compiling it all to several ISO's is a so/so remarkable task, for it to be truly user friendly there should be a significant explanation of the each particular program. As such, the package is meant for people who're already familiar with the forum as well as software made for different versions of PW builds, and not complete newbies such as myself who're not lacking the will to learn trough trial/error manifesto.
Which is why I need to know how to enable the crafting system in /PWServer/136 and let me just add that there's pwAdmin136 in /opt/ as well as pwAdmin, alongside with iweb136 and regular iweb. Is that normal and is there any benefit from having, obviously, not one but two working php navigation methods?! Aside from that there's no inclination of how to install/enable additional plugins nor how to enable the gshop (described as pay-to-win agenda by 343). How to do it all without possessing the means of a gui based ubuntu system, using VMware for emulation?!
Do I have to add each item manually or is there some I/O pattern which will allow me to edit a single text column? Is there a method to access the 127.0.0,1 of the PW MySql from Navicat by using port 3306 and root/root?! Do I need to possess the gui based system in order to "open" the data" files stored inside the virtual machine and, even so, how to do it?
wrong section ... if you have problems wie 343 release try original thread ...
I did, of course. But I don't want to spam there anymore. Besides, why is this a wrong section? I need help from experienced users.
dont know if you got a response from this but i know exactly the problem.
your probably starting with pwAdmin. i know this method craps out alot.. so go to PWServer/146/ and ./start_min.sh then you will be able to create your characters and play on the game.

1.) your send mail list may actually be invalid. wrong items or codes.
2.) you should know your ip and wan before you install the server.
3.) dont really understand the question. are you talking about eledit or gshop or what... as ive seen you can only add one at a time. and edit plugins? what plugins.
EXTRA QUESTION 4.) yes you can run programs in pw_tools in ubuntu with a program called playonlinux and create a profile called PW_TOOLS so all required software is needed. you just have to make sure you add required net frameworks and dll's required to run on ubuntu OS.

There are no missing files on my server, those files you mention (for the location you mention) do NOT belong there...
There is a 'utility' you can use to change this IP in /root/ called ipset.sh(also thank you for bringing it up, adding this to the instructions)
this release work 100% ... server start / addons start / char create / etc ...
i was a beta tester. this works on everything.
dont even question it... it works 100% and all that needs to be known is a bit of know how to even run it... this is the simplest setup you can ever require.
i even managed to get this running on an arm7 android. as ram is limited it cannot start map but everything else started. with some minor tweaks... but unlike what ive done NONE OF YOU would ever try running a server on an android device.. i was just stating that i can for the simplicity and mind that it can be done.. but completely pointless.. its just a point that its that easy to do.
those who cannot install the server in this simple setup.. dont ask how to fix because you have clearly done it wrong. i have 5 computers going from windows to mac and all running different os's and as long as you know the structure of the PWServer you shouldnt have any problems. so if you really actually have a problem state your log here. because there should not be any problems... i believe me and 343 and at least another 5 - 7 more people have tested it at the most extremes. so please use your questions to any ACTUAL problems
all you need to know is your IP and WAN and then its setup... depending on the version your running just type service pwversion and the number to run that server. that should be all thats needed.
Got a problem here.
If you can state the problem here, I can fix it on my own. :D
Btw, all things worked out until I logged in to the client then "timed-out" appeared.
TIA :D
@343 - Thank you. I did found it earlier, though, but thanks nonetheless.
@88supra86 - The plugins that I speak of are the gshop and similar. Some of them do not work. They ask for username and password to enter, but afterwards it's just blank. I have to disagree with your conjecture regarding the ease of access given that it requires basic ubuntu/linux knowledge, knowledge about routing and knowledge about IPs themselves. Most of kids that I know are not aware of such things and I think that it should be just to make a proper tutorial in order to share the knowledge and also make others to learn while testing.
Regardless of that, since you're experienced and given that you state how "everything" works, why is crafting not working on 136? If it requires editing the file via terminal, that means additional work after the "easy setup".
You have it here and, please, be sure to make a response http://forum.ragezone.com/f756/inval...1/#post7952541 regarding that particular problem. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.
Can someone help me with this?
When I type : 192.168.xxx.xxx/admin it shows me a blank page, Please help.

this is why i hate torrent..first download speed was okay then after a few hours it go to 1~10 kbps...
Guys can someone tell me why does my PWADMIN show a blank page?
Can a different version of Ubuntu be used? My VMware apparently can't use 'ubuntu-12.04.3-server-amd64'
Guys can someone tell me why does my PWADMIN show a blank page?
Can someone please tell me why does my IP/admin says
This webpage is not available?
*I have tried everything, but still nothing. Please tell me any thing that would help me, even if your not sure I will still try it.
Thanks in advance
As far as how you've pointed out there is a ../pwAdmin/ AND a ../pwAdmin136 you've just discovered the redundant directory structure that I use for people to be able to have ALL versions installed at once. Since each version requires it's own version of pwAdmin I had to have a way my 'script' (service) pwversion could change the directory for ../pwAdmin/ without the user having to anything other than type 'service pwversion' (or even know about what's going on in the background). So, that being said, in case you don't understand, on more way to explain here:
If you install pw 136 AND pw 146 you will notice there will be ../pwAdmin/ & ../pwAdmin136/ & ../pwAdmin146/ in /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/webapps/
This is because whichever one is IN ../pwAdmin/ at the time is the one actually being used by you when you type http://your.servers.ip.here/admin or the likes
So, lets say you're using pw136 so you type "service pwversion 136"
The pwversion service will, in the background, delete ../pwAdmin/ and copy a fresh copy of ../pwAdmin136/ to ../pwAdmin/
Now since you've said to use pw136, pwAdmin136 is all ready and set
Now say you wanna change to pw146 so you type "service pwversion 146"
the pwversion service will again, remove ../pwAdmin/ & replace it with a fresh copy of and from ../pwAdmin146/
SO
That all being said, hopefully now you understand it (it's obvious when you look at the actual pwversion service I created)
and, all that being said
DO NOT EVER touch the directories with the version numbers within them such as ../pwAdmin136/ or ../pwAdmin146/ since those are meant to be the virgin directories to refresh to any and every time you switch services
IF you're going to modify pwAdmin stuff I ONLY support you editing it within the ../pwAdmin/ directory!
This way if you fuck up you can just run the service pwversion and that will fix anything you break!

If you get a 'webpage not available' message when you use your SERVERs IP/admin you have not properly set up the networking. For (ALL) servers you need to set up a STATIC IP (NOT dynamic). Please set your servers IP to a static IP then run "./ipset.sh" in /root/

Sorry, there is NO other officially supported version.

I know that part may not have been directed directly to me but, I feel compelled to respond anyway
This package doesn't really require much Linux knowledge at all, as long as a person can figure out how to log in (certainly NOT rocket science) and mount an optical disc (or ISO). However ALL servers (this one being no different) DO require a BASIC/MINIMUM knowledge of networking, if someone is so naive in networking that they don't even know the difference between static and dynamic IP, or even what an IP *IS* then yes, they have no business trying to run ANY kind of server (let alone PW)!!! I have even been MORE than generous to make a thread like THIS ONE for those completely ignorant to the basics of computer networking! Which I clearly did not really have to do since this is the PW development section after all and not "Linux how to" or "networking how to" section. Also I would like to know how 'crafting' does not work in 136, as that portion of the package has been around forever and this is the first I'm hearing of anything about there being anything wrong with crafting! Are you not using the same exact server and client that I provide in the package? That would be the only thing I could think of that would hinder crafting from working for you.My v136 is HIGHLY 'custom' technically (even though it's meant to highly mimic official PWi), so if you don't use my server AND client together, you WILL get problems! It is also well known that I have removed the "boutique" as it does only promote the 'pay to play' agenda, for official AND for private servers ("donate gears" anyone) so I took it out, it's useless. I do not support its use, so if you desire to use it, you'll figure it out
Also so you know, most if not all the tools on pw_dev.iso are meant to be used in Winblows... If you ever have a blank screen from any of the web interface just use F5 or CTRL+F5.
- - - Updated - - -
Never seen or recall hearing of that message, though it actually doesn't say much if anything at all. To find out what's really going on you'd have to post your client and or server logs here please (and don't forget to use code and or spoiler tags) If no actual errors are found within logs it could also just be a lack of RAM on the server and or client as well
