    ! Monitor and Firewall

    Hello Flyff Section again!

I've done some research and noticed many servers are under DDos attacks, I have a good way that might block a little attack and also shows you the IP of the ddoser.

Firewall: Just start it up (ddosmonitor.exe) and it shows how many connections there are with your internet, (TCP) Also what kind of DDos will be used when it's like raising to very high, it shows:
    SYN
    ACK
    UDP
    ICMP
    SYN/ACK
    These are mostly on 0.

Showing the IP of the Ddoser.
    Open TcpMon.exe
Make sure you put on the option:
    Numerics ports
It will show all Ip's connected with the port behind it.

Hope this will help a bit.
    New Download

    Cya
-This might not be seen as a Flyff release but I'm just releasing it to support flyff servers against hackers!

Yea it will have some connections because server sided connections like Wamp also make standard connections same for you connecting with remote desktop it will always have around 20 even when no1 is on your server or website.

    Nice mate!
But about that "catch the ddoser". That won't work at all. Because If the ddoser are smart, he will use somones else ip and ddos it. But anyways,
thanks for share with you. ;)

Not always, Because using a fake IP mostly proxy or VPN will make your connection slow as hell and so a ddos will be less powerfull.

He could use a botnet though by infecting other pc's.

    Re: Monitor and Firewall

Someone here needs to learn what a DDoS is...
A DDoS is usually performed with a botnet, a large amount of trojan infected computers which is used to bomb specified server with packets.
MEANING: Every packet will have a different IP.

A DoS however is one PC, trying to bomb the server with packets.
DoS is easily mitigated with REAL software while a good DDoS is basically unmitigable without proper hardware.

Get your facts and terms straight Drift and the rest of the people in this thread.

    That's why I said a botnet. O_O
You could infect other pc's by sending a file to them with a binded bla bla bla and make it FUD. So once you'll have someone to attack, you'll just have to use those connections you've farmed.

    ^^ This is exactly right.

A friend of mine has tested my server with DoS attacks and it didn't even skip a beat. It's a server at my house running Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.5 Web Server, and it's sitting behind a Linksys router with built-in firewall. Other than those software choices and the router (it's not even an expensive one, just a home router with wireless built-in), I haven't done anything to specifically secure myself against DoS.

I know I'd be vulnerable to DDoS, but as Spiken already said, it's not easy to protect against that anyways.
