How on earth do you expect us to know the ip of your gameserver? You may as well be asking me what colour your keyboard is.

If you had read my networking guide you would know it needs to be your wan ip for public play and lan ip for lan only. I suggest you read the guide again as you are asking questions that only you can answer.

hey all i have a little problem i maked a server but my problem comes now
how to pot the server onlne :0 i have the ruter i have the ports i tested the tutorial made by fix with the internet on the server but it not working .. pls if you want help me a bit

When running cabal_config and it asks what ip address the players will connect to it shoudl be the WAN one (

), if you let it autodetect it should offer this as the default.

Once the ports are forwarded (i mad e anew guide on that in the tutorial section yesterday) and you have the WAN IP in internal.txt as well then it should work. The only reason it wouldn't would be you are connecting from inside the LAN and your router doesn't have loopback capability (not all do). If external players can get in but you cannot then this is the problem.

But I'm a bit leek on network things.
While I'm installing Centos 4.7 on my vmware and asks for a DNS adres. I entered a no-ip.org DNS. but when I finished installing Centos and I want to winSCP connect to the vmware I get acces denied.
Could you help me out with this one ?

It should work with or without a router, you always need to use the WAN IP.

Access denied usually means you are giving it the wrong user/pass (use the root user and pass).

CentOS can Ping the Internet....
Windows can also Ping CentOS

But...CentOS cant Ping my Windows-IP...

i also cannot Connect to the Game...

Maybe somebody can give me a link,where i can find out,how to edit the Datas, to login...

is i edit the Internal.txt with my CentOS IP, i cant connect...if i use the Wan-IP i cant connect... :huh:
And if i start the Server on CentOS..theres a text...It telling me that he cant Call the Wan IP....

Thats why i'm asking..

then you have a issue , tell us what is the problem when you can ping windows with centOS until then it`s a network problem that you will have to fix it by yourself!

well...
i gave CentOS an IP...subnet mask..and the Gateway...

i dont changed anything...so its the same config like in the video guide,or in the PDF guide...

i can connect with Putty to CentOS...can change the datas...Also with WinSCP...so i dont see a Problem at the network...coz i can transfer the datas from CentOS-pc to my Local PC...and i can transfer also my datas to CentOS PC...

the only problem iss..that i cant ping the Local PC from CentOS
and i cant connect to Game...

Maybe i should say,that i connected via W-Lan...???

Did you use the exact values you saw in the video, or values that are correct for you network? Many people just add what they see without realising that everybody's network is slightly different and normally needs different values (especially for gateway and DNS).

Maybe i should say,that i connected via W-Lan...???

No, wireless is a far less stable connection.

Is the Windows firewall on? If everything can see everything else other than windows that makes me think it's the firewall.

WAN IP check called but is disabled.......

The wan check is only needed if you have a dynamic ip. It shows that message to tell you that it is working but doesn't have anything to do. See the "cabal_dynip" command if you want to use it.

That is just a warning and you can ignore it. I print a message there so you can tell if the dynamic ip function is being called and whether it is doing anything or not. If you are having problems connecting to the server then you need to post your logs from /varl/log/cabal.

Yes use the hamachi ip in /etc/odbc.ini

The mssql ip is the windows hamachi ip where mssql is installed.
