Hi there, i edited drop rate for shape cartridge lv 2 but still not dropping. i did not change any opt or anything, just simply change the DropRate to 1.00000000000000000. Before this i tried changing the TerrainIdx from 0 to Shape Cartridge (Sword/Lv2)and also the others. Mind pointing out what i did wrong? and i saved it with .scp extension. thanks in advance!

It seems that many people simply do not understand the way the drops system works. Drop chances are relational to each other and just raising one isn't necessarily going to make it drop more frequently unless you are also lowering other drops to compensate.
When a drop is calculated there is a percentage of anything in the [commdrop] section being selected based on it's rate (which is more like a "weight" than a "rate"). Remember that Alz is also factored in as a drop as is any entries in the [mobsdrop] section. The higher somethings weight compared to other items the more likely it is to drop and if other items have similar (or higher) weight the chance of your item dropping drastically reduces.
As a test make a backup of your terrain file and remove every sinle drop from both commdrops and mobsdrops other than your carts. Now nothing but Alz and carts so experiment a little with the rates to see the effect it has. Now add another item back in and see the effect it has.
Dont change the terrainidx, that will truly break drops.

Oh.. ok thanks guys! anyway, another question is:
Lvl 3 and Lvl 4 shape cartridges are droppped from PF and another map. Forgot. However, Lvl 2 shapes aren't dropping at all. And discs drops easily. This is before i look up at the terrain file. Didn't test the new 'weight' yet. Thanks!

I have done some testing and lv2 shapes definitely drop, though on normal settings are very rare and this depends on the mobs you are hunting. With normal terrain data and 5x drops you will almost never see one from Crag Crabs for example but they are more common from Stone Golems and Dark Bladers.
I then changed the rates in terrain 4 to these, i just added a 9 before the 5 (i use 2 drops per kill when testing drops):

I'm now getting lots of shapes from Dark Bladers but hardly any at all from weaker mobs.

emmm, I used the default terrain before, and I didnt get any shapes at all from any mobs in Port Lux including Dark Bladers and Golems.

Guys can you help me find how to make rates ok.. because my server is having problem.. low level monsters dont drop als just items.. but in high monsters they do drop als.. we want midium rate server.,. like elite cabal..

Look in Multiple.scp, World_drop.scp, Worldx-terrain.scp
Thats all you need to configure about rates.
