That is the very basics of hosting a website and there are hundreds of guide on the internet. Us writing more would just duplicate work.
The web page should have SQL connection details in the config.php and it uses that to connect to mssql.
The "cabalonline.com" bit is called a "domain name" which you have to buy from somewhere that hosts domain names and website (there are millions of hosters on the internet). If you want a free one you can use something like no-ip but the names aren't as good. Once you have a domain name you configure it (usually through the hoster's website) to point it to the IP address of your web server.

Theu are both the same, the dvd just has everything on one disk image. I would go for cd1 only and install the most minimal version possible as things like a desktop just take up ram the server could be using.

There is no real difference between an offline and online server. The only difference is the ip address the server "listens" for players on. Cabal_config will explain which to use and if there is no internet connection it will even default to the right one.

If anyone has the time to point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated....I have successfully installed Chumpys' 2.8.1 on vmware..installed the recommended US client for the release. (It is a new installation of the server+server files not an upgrade...) copied the client files to the client...changed the IPs in internal.txt...and the client completely refused to start..immediately gave error msg and shutdown. (Others had/have the same error I noticed in the forums)..
Okay...so I overcame that by copying all data from Lost-Spirits patch into the client and the US client starts and is able to login. However...
the encs are all screwed up...monsters ignore the chars unless you attack first (even the much higher lvl monsters ignore the char)...also.. ..the chars normal attack always misses after the first hit...shops dc the char when buying stack 7 pots...recall stones..ugh. I know that the encs have to match in both client and server...but I havent the knowledge to do it.
Does anyone have matching patches (Non-modded) for the US client and 2.8.1 serverfiles? Or if not....anyone have the time to go over properly patching the client + server (I mean...step-by-step...only the basic files needed to sync the two)
I know that the patch_tool in the server can make new patches...but there is a step about telling it to NOT add certain encs that break ...but not sure the steps necessary for that.. So, if anyone could take the time...to offer some help with properly syncing (maybe even in msg?) it really would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time and patience.
This is the bug mentioned about the patch tool, it seems to affect some and not others. Yamachi's COZip and the packer that comes with balq's player skill management tool both give better results when packing for some strange reason i have yet to find.Quote:

Have you added anything server-side as this sounds very much like you have. I know adding the ep3 hybrid server files in will cause problems for the pots but i have not even heard ogf the other two problems. Synching the server and client files is a very long job and requires extremely good knowledge of both server and client data. Your friend lied. Not one member of TDP has the ep3 files. As Yamachi says, why would we still be working on ep2 if we had them? If we had ep3 we would have released them or we would have all vanished and made an ep3 server, we have done neither and have instead devoted a LOT of time and effort to ep2.Quote:

Ah that explains it. You missed a bit in your other post, it's the IP address as i thought.
The server is listening on yor WAN IP so that same IP should be in internal.txt unless you change the server config to use it's LAN address. Both should use the same IP.

As cabaltools isn't one of mine and that i don't use it myself this probably isn't the best topic to ask in.
First you need a webserver like xampp (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html). Installation is very easy.
Next put the files for the cabatools frontend and backend in the web root (c:\xampp\htdocs) and configure the config.php files.
Try going to "localhost" in your browser and hopefully the page will show up. That's about all i can offer though.

Yes but you will need a pretty powerful machine, dual core at least and a minimum of 4gb ram if you don't want any lags. I use Win7 x64 myself.Quote:

dont start the Client with the *.Bat file..
delete the "breaklee" command from the exe,or start the Client with the Husky command.

When using breaklee (using the start-cabal batch file included in most patches) it enables internal.txt and test mode which is what effects the cooldown. You cannot enable test mode whilst using language.enc as it isn't how cooltime is supposed to work.
For the rebirth system it depends on which one you have (there are 2 SQL ones and 2 versions of cabaltoolz here that have it as far as i know) but the readme should explain it. I don't use them so i can't help there.
As for the hair and epaulatte these are both well know sigmetal bugs and cannot be fixed. Sig metal does not work no matter how many people tell you they have it working, they are all using Yamachi's files and he tells me that the client has a memory limit which is the reason for the bugs.

The buff cooldown without breaklee can't be done. Not without some hexing and i don't know how to do that one.
The rebirth system i have no idea s i said. I don't use one as i don't like the idea. They are only for high rate servers where you max out in 2 days really and i like low rate servers.

There isn't one unless somebody knows a hex to alter the way the way the command switches are used. Also, those are not GM commands they are client test commands which is why they only wok for you and are onyl good for causing crashes.
Using breaklee enables internal.txt and test mode (the cooldown reset and test mode commands). Without breaklee test mode is not enabled therefore no internal.txt and no commands or cooldown cheat (it is a cheat).
Hello, i've got my server up and running (Not Open To Public) yet, atleast not untill i find the new&updated " Item.scp, and Skill.scp " - Im looking for someone who could share these files with me so i could add episode 3 pets,costumes, and weapons. If you can, ide appriciate it very much.
Hey Chump, i had a big problem with creating a char.. and this is the fix:
in your guide it says;
- Copy the xp_md5.dll to c:\windows\system32 (or c:\winnt\system32 depending on your OS) on your Windows database
server.
So i copied the dll to the system32 folder....
Than it says;
- EXEC SP_ADDEXTENDEDPROC 'xp_md5','d:\cabal\xp_md5.dll'
So i just executed the query, very wrong since the query needed to be; EXEC SP_ADDEXTENDEDPROC 'xp_md5','c:\windows\system32\xp_md5.dll'

That way, people would stop asking funny questions. Well, of course some would ask about the issues they face, but it would be nice if you made a guide, since most around are either very vague, have non-functional links, out-dated info and the list goes on.

i setup cabal off with sql 2000sp4( name database default) and play successfull, but i add sql 2005 (name database is sqlexpress) centos do not connect sql because link gameserver failed, can you help me(i read file pdf mssql 2005 but not success).

Remove SQL2005 the Install it again with DEFAULT INSTANCE, don't select NAMED INSTANCE.

You are not using the correct cabalmain.exe, yours is checking the hashes of your .enc files and will refuse to load any that don't match the exact version it has been told to work with.
Look for the latest patch at www.mediafire.com/chumpy as it does not have that check ;)
