Your problem hasn't anything to do with MSSQL.
You simply lack the permission to access the server binaries.
Try to run those commands on your CentOS box:

chmod 0777 /usr/bin/ChatNode_*

In SQL2005+ open the account db and find the cabal_auth_table. Inside it you will find a triggers folder with the trigger in, just delete it by right-clicking.
In SQL2000 open enterprise manager and find the same table. Right-click and use the "manager triggers" option which is under "all tasks" i think (i don't have one to hand to check).

unzip all the files first before passing it to centos and install and I recommend that you use the 2.81 pack that is more completeQuote:

because i saw few video guide, all have their own config and installation process. for example in FIX video they say dont restore EVENT database but in Cyber Video They restore Event database.
and for the client i already download the link provided by FIX and in he's installation it changes the starting page of the game to chinese , its client is Cabal_us version.

@norbert56 disable the WindowsFirewall in your windows services
and disable the firewall in CentOS too if you have the firewall enabled there and check your Bridged Network

Server is unavailable or does not exist.
Make sure that the mssql server allows tcp connections, that you typed well the ip username and password and that the network between mssql and linux is not faulty.
everything is correct maybe the networks is messed up idono but it seems fine to me im not sure what to do..
Can you connect from a different machine to mssql server?
Can you ping the mssql server machine from centos machine?

Just open up the context menu "Add and remove programs". Make sure everything which has "SQL" in it's name is removed.
After this, restart your PC. After this step, watch through the path you installed MSSQL to (standard is c:\program files(x86)\Microsoft SQL 2005)
and just manually delete everything you find in this path.
After this step, restart the pc and try reinstalling MSSQL 2005.

I am wondering if you can give me some insight on the following situation:
Problem:
- Login screen does not respond
- with no account/pass inserted it claims I have to input my info
- with any account and pass (even if it doesnt exist) clicking ok -> it wont respond.
Condition:
- I am trying to connect from the same computer to the server (i.e. both CentOS and the test client are on this one)
- Server is all OK's (server status = all running, thus database part is ok).
- Ping: from client IP to server IP = working.
- Ping: from server IP to client IP = working.
- Telnet: from client to server on server ports -> 38101 is ok, but 38121 is not connecting.
Client I am using: the Jan 2008 with the essential v22 cabalmain files + patched with 2.81.
Server I am using 2.81
CentOS 4.7
Please comment.

I think its clear enough its version 22 isn't it. reading a ver 22 cabalmain
change IgnoreClientVersion=1 to =0
and
change client_version=22 to ur cabalmain.exe version.. this way u can prevent ppl from using ur old main if u have updated ur new one..and i think u can prevent ppl from hacking ur server this way..(hopefully)
