can somebody help me with this error... i did everything in the forum already and followed each step.. i can ping both windows and centos.. but client wen i login client i cant get past the username and pass page. pls help.

No you have to use linux as the server is designed for it. This has been said many times.

Is it the username and pass that fails, or do you get past that but can't connect to the channel? That errors looks suspiciously like the old login bug and if it is you aren't using my files. If that is the case check the stick in the help section for the "authenticated globalmgrsvr" posted by youyou.

Hi I reformated my computer and now everything is sucessfull but i still dont know how to edit the client to login or create an account i there any guide or video for that?

Owh btw I need the GP client and is there any that is uploaded to mediafire?

There is only rapidshare links for the GP client as far as i know. I keep meaning to upload a mirror but i always forget.

I have seen another mention of this. Did you get any errors during cabal_install.sh? Are you running cabal_config.sh from /home/cabal and not /root/ep2/home/cabal?

I have heard of this one too and cabaltoolz always seems to be how the items are added. I will have to look further into that as i don't actually use cabaltoolz myself.

Is GP client gamepirate client?
1)I used the gamepirate client updated it with SAUR0N's client patch, put in the play-cabal.bat and the internal.txt but when i tried to create account from chumy's GM tools, they put "Duplicate row. Player already exists?" but it was first time creating character......
2)Then i went into the client and i type random user and pass and they put "You have failed to connect the server, Please try again."
Is it suppose to happen when you type in wrong username and pass?

The GP (gamespirate yes) client is just a US client. You can download the official ogplanet cabal client, fully update it and then add SAUR0N's patch (and internal.txt) to make a client. The official mirrors are fastest anyway ;)

What happens if you manually create the user by running the following query on account db?

exec dbo.cabal_tool_registerAccount 'username','password'

it is the username and pass that fails indeed. i cant even see the channel page... all file that i used wer from u and i check already the authenticated globalmgrsvr from youyou and ur repack and it is the same... i religiously followed each step in ur guide....

btw, im using europe cabal with patch.. hehehe.. maybe thats the problem? i just patched it with saurons....

Check you dbagent, globaldbagent and globalmgrsvr logs and see if you have any sql related errors in there. Not getting past login and pass screen usually means it can't connect to the db.

btw, chump, i was wondering during the restoration of account database in mssql, i found 2 database in position 1 and 2 of xaphod. which of the two i should restore? i only restored position 1... is that ok? also i cant create account using the command "dbo... registeraccount,....." so i edited dbo_auth table to allow nulls... is that ok???

It sounds like the password or something is not getting written to the db correctly. Can you post a screenshot of the auth_table so i can see what values have been written? Editing the tables should not be necessary.

I accidentally left 2 restore points in the account db. Either should be fine.

that Char. creating problem is solved..... now new bug....

In the Normal Server i.e Mercury till now everything working fine... but in War server i.e Mars.... users r unable to chat with each other also .. they cant c other's name instead they c some no.s .

What to do to fix this thing.....


I more thing if i go for 2-3 channels i.e Saturn , Jupiter and ahead....

I get to c only 1 channel tht to of TG .... Which file to edit to c more channels .....I tried ur cabal_config.sh .. n tried diff servers but it shows only 1 channel....

If users can't talk it means they are not connected to the chatnode properly so check your ini confi8g between chatnode and worldsvr. Adding new channels by hand is hard and there are many things that can go wrong which is why i would suggest using cabal_config to do it for you. If the extra channels dont show then check you have the right number of ini files (worldsvrs) in /etc/cabal and the right symbolic links in /usr/bin.

You are not supposed to be able to see char names of enemies in war channels, it is supposed to be like that.Only GMs are supposed to be able to see names of non-nation members, but caps can't see proccies or vice versa.

Hmmm, that is the stored procedure in the db failing and not my code. Usernum should not be null though.

I have a theory but i will need to post some updates when i get home from work as i will need you to do a few tests for me.

OK, it seems like im down a a few last bugs and i cant quite figure it out. My current problem is character creation and ive followed every other post and guide on how to fix it but have been so far unsuccessful.

all of my ini's and config files are properly set up, I created a test account using the stored procedure and used Chumpys GM tools to ensure the account was created. My client (Saur0n) connects to the server and i see the server and channels properly but when i get to creating a character i get the unknown DB errors.

According to every linked server guide on the site my config is right, my provider string is good but my DBAgent log shows "cannot initialize the data source object...." error. I have tried every possible linked server config, changed permissions tried sa account in cabal_config.sh, I even restored all my DB's and tried from scratch and still no progress.

I hope someone can help me out cuz i cant find anything that gets me any closer to a functioning server. I have included my server logs after a fresh service restart and create character attempt.. (ignore the multiple login attempts, i was trying to log in while the server was still loading...)

Dinh here again with more questions :).

I can't seem to get the server to connect to the database. I used Chumpy's GM Tool and was able to log in the database using my LAN's IP (192.168.1.146) and 127.0.0.1 IP. I can create, delete, edit account in the GM tool. I ran the /home/cabal/cabal_config.sh in Putty and input the same information I used on the GM tool and go through the set up successfully. However, when I went to the DBAgent_24.log file, I kept seeing the Database connect fail. I checked and double checked to make sure I was using the correct database login username and password. Still fail.

My CentOS IP is 192.168.1.151 <---static IP I set from the router
My LAN IP for the PC is: 192.168.1.146
I am able to ping the CentOS from my PC and vice versa.

When I tried to create an account manually using this command Chumpy mentioned above "exec dbo.cabal_tool_registerAccount 'username','password', I get this message "Msg 2812, Level 16, State 62, Line 1
Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.cabal_tool_registerAccount'."

Does that mean there is something wrong with my Database??


Please help.
