PS : can this server run w/out internet using VM network or any network hosting program cause sometimes i have no internet connection??

    HELP !! XD
I already made a guide, it's in the 1st post ("Cabal server install guide (my repack v2 only)"). Gen_config2.sh only existed in the 1st repack but i changed it to cabal_config.sh in v2 as people kept running the wrong one. You can find it in /home/cabal.

Here is the links for my clean logs: http://rapidshare.com/files/161481621/Logs.zip

    Thanks in advance.
Do not touch the files in the /root/ folder, those are the install files. I really must hide those better next time :/ The ones you want are in /etc/ (/etc/odbc.ini). The errors in the logs are showing it can't connect so it will be the ports in /etc/odbc.ini, everything else looks o and it can see your login attempts ok too.

You don't need to change any filenames as that is what cabal_config.sh is for, it does it for you. You need to check the logs in .var/log/cabal to see why the processes are dying. I would guess that it is because you are fiddling with the files manually and the server can't find the ini files it needs. Unless you know exactly what to change by hand never, ever touch any of the files and use cabal_config.sh to do the config for you.

To use ifconfig you need to type "su - root" from the centos terminal to elevate yourself to root with root's environment. Personally i use winscp and putty connected as root to manage servers as i find it easier.
I tried to ping each OS and it didn't work. Im root but ifconfig itself is located in /sbin :(

However, my settings: windows ip = 192.168.1.10, linux ip = 192.168.1.11 (I used diff. IP's btw)

I didn't turn any firewall on, ... it works fine for ubutnu but not for centos :( I also turned off all virtual networks created by vmware, also tried it activated choicing an IP.

If you are logged in with root and have root's environment ifconfig should work from anywhere, if you have to run it from /sbin then you don't have root's environment. Remember to type "su - root" and not just "su root".

Don't switch off vmware's virtual network or it will stop you pinging. With your network i would suggest bridged networking and specifying the centos network address yourself. Make sure you choose the same netmask as your windows machine as well (255.255.255.0 i would guess).

re: [old] My guides + databases

WTF is going on with centos? I setuped it the 1000th try again and suddenly it worked... I connected like it was discriped in the guide and started to copy files. After a few minutes (70% of copying already done) I got an error "other connection didn't reply for 15sec" I thought ok, lets reconnect, but it didnt work?!

I pinged each os again and it doesn't work again, I didnt do anything, I just looked at the % going through... Ip of winxp and linux are still the same ... all I have to ask now

    What the fuck?

edit: now it works again, but some times of packets are just crazy ... 0,2ms, 1ms, 19ms, 3ms, 17ms ... any way fix that?

    edit2: doesnt work again xD

re: [old] My guides + databases

    Just as a suggestion.

If anyone really wanna set-up a server with the min trouble and error. Do as follow :-

    1. Download all the software and files exactly the same shown in the guide.
(try not to get a different kind of software or OS. Cause when u get into
problems and errors, it's hard for ppl to help u out)

    2. Prepare all this software and files in a whole new virus-free HD.
(Make it 2 HD, 1 for storing all the needed software and files. And the other
one only purposely for the server)

    3. Then get a new hard disk or re-format the old one.

    4. After re-formatting, only install all those needed software and files for the server in it.

    5. Make your HD as clean as possible just for the server. This will safe you
from alot of trouble and error.

    6. Install the software 1 by 1 and step by step. Dont rush!! Read the guide or watch the video
guide slowly. Try to understand each and every part of it.

    7. Ran into error or problems, try to read through the forum to find your solution. Only call for
help when you really cant make it. Try to solve it yourself 1st, you'll learn more things then
    others from it.
(some problems and errors are common sense, just that ppl are lazy to solve it by themself)

    8. Try to find a guide that most suitable for you to set-up.
(Means you can understand at least 80% of it. This will save you time and lot of troubles)

If anyone settting a server following the basic steps as above, it's already safe you from alot
of trouble and error. And your server is 50% success before you start doing any setup)

I set-up my server with ZERO knowledge of all this thing. But the 1st step I do is, I almost read
through 90% thread of the forum. Downloading each and every guide to learn and understand it.

Most of the problems I solved it by myself or by the previous thread posted in the forum.

Like the Hexing .exe thing, I got no knowledge of it. I tried and cant make it. Ask ppl for help?
Can't get an answer or solution. Finally I solved it myself, maybe it's a "dumb" way, but at least
I solve the problem and learn more things from it too.

Setting up a server with min knowledge, you need to be very patient and carefull. See and read
through things more clearly than a careless person. Then in the end you will get your server up.

Sorry for my bad english and thanx for reading. :)

    Have a nice day. :)

The client IP is in language.enc and you can't edit that as we can't encode enc files yet. You need to feed cabalmain.exe the "breaklee" switch to get it to pick up the ip from internal.txt and there is a miniguide on properly starting a cabal client in my sig.

BR Client + RZPatch (v22) = not work
BR Client + CabalPirata Patch (v1287) = not work (even i changing the ip's and the others things, iit open the CabalPirata Channels)

    and now chumpy?

well i got a little grow...
i putted client version 88 like my other BR cabalmain.exe and when u put ok after writing acc/pw it says to "DISCONNECT AND UPDATE CLIENT"... well, i'm not a genius but, maybe he finded the server's ip but i'm acessing with the wrong client.
so i putted IgnoreClientVersion=1 and it back to the other error, "CONNECTING TO THE SERVER" and nothing...
    help plz

just for info, loginsvr por 38101, worldsvr port 38121...
