Are you sure you are using the Hamachi IP address and not the LAN one? That looks like a standard LAN one as Hamachi addresses all start with 5.xxx.xxx.xxx i think (at least every one i have had has).Originally Posted by sevenmore

Are you using my repack? There shouldn't be any way of that happening if you are running my gen_config2.sh so i am assuming not but if you are then i might need to look into why it happened.

Try to delete your Link Server for Cabal Server then create a new one.
Connetion String should be put on Provider string. After you have created a new Linked Server for Cabal Server, relogin on SQL login as "Cabal User" and Test Connetion on your created linked server for cabal server.Code:DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=localhost;UID=;PWD=;

@JoniverPH - The most important bits are done already and i have already covered everything needed to get a working server (my TG has always worked too). I'm now really just maintaining and adding new bits as i find them.
@sevenmore - I think all this different tinkering is actually making things worse. Nobody else has had problems like this and i am thinking that maybe stripping SQL ot and starting from scratch might be an idea as you seem to be getting further away from a fix that nearer to one.

i recently formatted my hard drive and installed cabal server using ur repack sir chumps... but i the thing is i encounter this error.
1. once i type - service cabal stop (putty/terminal) , the server stops but if i wait for about 10-15 seconds it starts automatically? any setting to configure the auto start server?
is it ok to touch the *.ini and change it to my windows LAN ip? coz i notice the ips are (127.0.0.1)?

Thanks chumpy and the rest here who help 4 the guide my server is now up but my problem now is that my server doesnt drop gold it only drops items, i modify the alz drop rate to 100 ,Exp 3000, item drop 3000 n alz bomb to 100 waaa... Is there something wrong with my modification on my ini why mobs doesnt drop gold in my server? Pls any help or advice?...Another bugs is that I observe on the hamachi on my linux its IP is turning gray when i checked its IP at the hamachi on my Xp, w/c causes DC on my game than it turns green again, Im wondering whats wrong with the hamachi on my linux its IP is turning gray n back to green its happening every less than 10 minutes so my game dc too on those times?...Any help or advice why?...

@sevenmore - that is a bit odd. I'll have to experiment a bit as i have not had that problem before.
@BalroK - The GP client is pretty much what i am using and i have not released a client yet until i figure out the best way to put it together. I suspect SAURON's method will be best but i need to test more so use the GP client for now.
@winword - This is because there is a cron task that runs in the background to restart the services automatically if they fail and that process is left enabled in this version (you can switch it on or off in the next release). Just delete the "check_cabal" from /etc/cron.d and it will stop it doing it.
You can edit the .ini files but it should not be needed and setting them to your windows IP will break the server as it's processes should be connecting to itself not windows. Almost all IP addresses should be 127.0.0.1 and only odbc.ini and worldsvr inis need other IP addresses.
@swetmary143 - You set your rates config too high, setting it to very high values doesn't mean your drops will be better. Make sure you have UseWorldDrop=1 in your worldsvr config .ini and don't put drop rates above 5x.
