Thanks for the help, that fixed it, but now i cant setup the linked server i get an error even with provider set as: DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=localhost\SQLEXPRESS;UID=user;PWD=pass; all the correct settings set to true and be made without security context, if using remote or current context it will create without errors but the server seems not to accept as it will produce open link() failed; any thoughts?

You don't need LINKED SERVER on EP8 :) just go forward on the next step :)

V box wont connect to to the DB im not sure what i am doing wrong and could you please explain why it doesn't need linked server?

you have 2 options on xtrap issues
1. Remove xtrap
2. Host xtrap

Cabal_msg.enc error check your xor keys
