opening the .bak file

Hello, I have a problem with the bdd files of the sources that I download, they are in .bak format and I can't find any application to open them, does anyone know how to do it please?

Notepad++ any context reader, even notepad can open them lol.

.bak is a backup of the original file so u restore it if needed.

I did some research, but I'm no expert...
I'm trying to learn on my own but I still need help on one basic thing...

Simply rename the file extension to what it was.

great Thank you very much you are a god for me.
but it is not necessary to change the encoding system? because it gives me weird characters

I assume what your talking about is an .exe and yea u cant read that with notepad lol.

Not sure why this is so complicated for you or why your making it more complicated then it is.

If the files is .exe.bak then rename it to .exe just like if its .txt.bak then its .txt

for example I take ACCOUNT_DBF.bak I save it as .txt but that does not change anything, I restore it in .sql and there is a change but my database still cannot read it.
