delete c:\windows\my.ini restart mysql server and run winmysqladmin again

Hi. Great guide, I'm getting one problem so far; I get the "Failed to connect to game server due to server maintenance or network congestion. Please log in later."
All I've done is downloaded the files, opened winmysqladmin.exe, made the soul.exe, tried to login and that happens. The green light on the mysql program is on though. I cant figure out what is wrong.

have to run those proge before going to in game ( ACCserver.exe / NPC.exe / gameserver.exe wmz... )

it dosent work to delete my.ini and run the mysql admin again :(

delete from services the mysql with this .. start--->run----> cmd
the wright this command sc delete mysql
means delete mysql from services.

also:

make sure you dont have alot sql in your machine. it messed up the dbs.
be sure you have deleted c:/windows my.ini as commandcom said right!!!!!
then to be sure restart your computer and try again with winmysqladmin
be sure also you use right username and password because if are wrong the green light never baing green but still red!!!!

i do preffer to use mysql server as standalone server so less pain in head

Sounds like an interesting release. I got a problem tho.
The acc server crashes right after kernel init ok.

AppName: accountserver version 6.127-1.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.5512 Offset: 00032a16

Also the MsgServer starts fine, no problems there.

Any suggestions as to what i should do to start the acc server? :mellow:

EDIT: Did some tests with an older version of the server package (sometime late last year) and exchanged the executables. The old one with the new package just crashes without error and the new one with old package seems to be working! So i'm guessing one (or more) of the files from the new package must be generating me the error. Would the server work fine with a combination of the old and new package? :/:

Is it something to do with my ini files? They're the same as those downloaded.

do you have .net framework installed? can you login to your database with
login root
pass test

google navicat, install it and try with it

A) Does the server require to be run on it's own mysql server? (the one that comes with the package)
Becouse i'm already running a mysql 5 server on my machine with mysql admin and mysql query browser (equivalent of navicat, or at least close).
And yes i can login with those as i had to change my root pass using the OLD_PASSWORD in cmd line.

(I'm not a pc newbie :):)

Anyway... where is this my.ini that needs to be in my windows directory?

[I don't have admin rights to the pc ... attempted parental control :rolleyes: ... ofc my pops failed (and continues to fail) abysmally:lol: I can however access it manually by other means so no problem there... i just don't have "modify" or "ownership" of the folder...]

Ok.... i knew it should be in c:\windows\ it was just that i didn't know where to find the my.ini as it doesn't exist already in the systemroot folder.
U haven't told me however if i can run it on my own and already installed mysql.

all you need is mysql 4.0 it doesnt matter in witch package you get it i like to use standalonr mysql 4.0
just get ur db and put to it and all run fine ;)
