    [Development] Sword with block option

    i am working on an 3d model for a sg's
    but i want it to have a block option to.
    but i can't make that myself can someone make the .exe
    or annything for it?
    i heard it need to be created in the ASM
    i tried it in the .MRS but i cant get it done
    please help

    ASM pl0x :).
    Try use : PSPad (free hex editor).

    if you want an SMG to be a sword thats all xml, to create a block function for a certain gun you would find what right click (or whatever your block key is) calls when used with sword, and also tell a certain weapon type to make the same call...

    There are probably checks with anything older then the beta Gunz.exe, so you would have to deal with that too...

    theres my 2 cents

    Also this idea could be used to use a gun as a melee weapon on secondary attack in theory. Probably pretty glitchy due to the ani's but whatever, just an idea

    ok ty but now the question, i found in the xml the files i need to edit.

    The checks are only if your doing something that isnt in the normal protocol of gunz, aka your not doing something gunz normally does, if your just trying to make a gun a sword object, then you dont have to worry about it

    This is definitely harder than changing a few XML's, you would first see what function is called when the block key is pressed, then create a prototype of that function and call the prototyped function every time the block key is pressed instead of the original function.

    *NOTE*
    You would have to add some sort of checking system for checking which weapons can use block and which cannot. In my opinion, you could use the already existing XML's in system.mrs to do this but you would then have to use the .MRS file type and its compression method.
