[WIP] Clothing Edits in GunZ Debug.

Tut on how to Import Clothing into GunZ Debug :

    http://forum.ragezone.com/5196952-post18.html

    ---------------------------------------

Recently I've been searching around the main files for GunZ, till I found a line which Intruiged me. I edited it, run my GunZ debug, and found changing clothing was very possible.

It's different from replacing ELU's, as the WomanParts01.elu has certain internal parts which can't be replaced just by replacing the file, otherwise, Its highly likely your Debug would crash.

But heres what I've done so far :

    Spoiler:

As you can see, Item placement was a visible problem, as all equipment would be pokeing upwards inbetween the feet.

So I imported a GunZ model, did some re-arranging, so the sword would fit normally.

    Preveiw :

As you can see for this screenshot, It was partially off.

But then again, you can see your item from all angles this way, and if there are any problems, you can revert back to your old version so it's back in place.

    ----------------------------

No Its not actually completely useless, GunZ debug gave us the ability to test our weapons in-game without having to use a pserver. The Pros of this were that you never did have to wait for a server if it was actaully offline or whatever.

But now, We can check our clothing edits (Recolors or whatever it maybe) all with just one debug client. This way, theres no need to constantly be looking for unencrypted servers, waiting for a server offline or whatver.
You simply change and go and there you have it. No lag or anything.

    -----------------------------------------

A Preveiw of an example of a clothing edit being used in debug :

    Recolor Fail xD :

    ----------------------------------

I will be showing how to change clothes tommorow, in a Tut or whatever.

    Like?

Is there a simple way to just test your weapons made in blender straight away.
Like now we have to decompile system and model
then do bunch of stuff etcetc
    Can't it be easier :O?

Cause i have troubles with testing my weapons :)

Well its not really that complicated..

    Decompile Model.mrs
Replace Katana01.elu with your own sword and texture
    Re-compile
    Replace model.mrs
    Test =)

But theres some other important things which I missed out on though.

Its just trial and error, You'll get there :p

There's a much less buggy way of changing debug items, which is the way I'm suspecting that GunzEntropy did it back in the day. Code a DLL that hooks the function that creates the character and edit its properties. I can post the source to one if requested, but the addresses in it are outdated, I made it for the KGunz beta client.

As pro as you are (which I know you are very), I doubt the ability of GunZ Entory compared to Debug.

The main factor for Debug is that fact you can actually use your customs in-game.

I Know Entropy Could but Me and A LOT of other people get a certain error saying "Incorrect Patch Point".

    But ok whatever :p

I can't be shitted with all the runnable editing, MYSQL settings and SHOP bullshit.

Stop trying to put me down Lol..

In my method, Type in your desired woman part, run theduel.exe, and BAM!

    EZ as Pie.

Why is the sword at the tip of the hand?

    Who cares?

Plus, I CTRL - Z just so I could have the mesh of the hands back as an example...

I placed it correctly but its not rigged into the hand, but in that case, a person can resort to the original woman.mrs .

    I seriously don't know what's the problem. >.>

Feel like explaining? Is the sword or the clothes the problem/whatever you're talking about?

EDIT: I didn't get it because of your confusing writing. You started talking about something, then said something else, then mixed it.

ANOTHER EDIT: nvm, you explained what you meant on MSN, ADD-writing f**.

    P.S: He let me call him a f**. He's my subordinate >:3

The problem is with the clothing.

WomanParts01.ELU is the Base model which every other set goes ontop of.

The WomanParts01.ELU contains all the extra information for weapon placement etc, Clothing just goes ontop of this base model.

What we do here is redirect the base model to another elu, such as womanparts02.ELU which doent have the internal info for the equipment so we just see it between the feet.

But then again, You always revert back to your normal Woman.MRS if you want to chek out your new weapons.

Frankly this beats the idea of having the whole test server.

    Test Server Method :

    Decompile MRS
    Replace files
    Compile MRS
    Replace MRS
    Run GunZLauncher
    Wait for Server to Load
    Login
    Char select
    Get your weapon
    Enter a room.

    --------

    Debug Method :

    Decompile MRS
    Replace files
    Compile MRS
    Replace MRS
    Run theduel.exe
Loads instantly and there you go.

    A lot simpler....
