Me and my friends are setting up server... I just wanted to start by testing it on my laptop... you know, set up, run 1 accounts for 10 minuets, then repeate set-up when I build my new desktop... However, after i start matchserver, matchagent and locator and launch my game with the "blue" edited launcher to the runnable without filelist it laods, takes me to login screen and all of the sudden... No server listed. Its like the client's blindspot is my server... can someone plz help me? :blink:
@Silentstri16 it may be the no filelist runnable stuffing up, also you may of missed abit on the tut dobble and tripple check

ok if i don't unpack the system.mrs and i click the launcher, the client loads up fine, but every 7 seconds the client laggs for a split second.
if i do unpack the system.mrs and edit the sever.xml
when i click the launcher and then click start the launcher stays up for a bit and then closes, and nothing else happens, the client doesn't execute.
so my main concerns are the odd lagg, and the part where i can't unpack the system.mrs without having the client fail to load.
my computer crashes when its downloading sqlexpre32 on the native and the other 4 things how fix!!!!

i was trying to edit that post, so i could rewrite it, because i already had fixed my issue a long time ago, but ragezone would not let me edit it anymore.
though i did not realise this till i looked back at this thread later to see that my post was still the same as i wrote it the first time.
Basically my issue was that the MRS unpacker i was using was corrupt or bugged, in all reality your tutorial would not know this.
So i figured it out my own and since then i have had a working server.
Basically all it was, was a corrupt MRS unpacker.
if anyone else gets the same problem as i did, try redownloading the mrs unpacker in this thread.

are you trying to make more then on server? if so he would only need matchserver and match agent
DB ip would be the first pc you installed it on and serverstatus.dbo would need to be updated with your freinds ip(as in add it in as the secon server)
@kellon resintall MSSQL then slect MIXED MODE add in your password(default user name is: sa)

To replace the ip to wan ip search for localhost and change the localhost to your wan ip rather then searching for http :D

Guys need help.. Locator has a problem.. Its seems the Locator is not working or something..
It was working before using Kekkus server files.. But after moving to Maxtrax Server files.. Its not working anymore..

Ive already double & triple check the "locator.ini" "AgentConfig.xml" and the "server.ini" files for incorrect IP address..Nothings wrong with all of those files.. and already done the "odbcad32" procedure..

@RazorBurn When you were creating ODBC In the middle of creating one it will ask if u would want it on master or w.e click the checkmark and it will show u a llist and press gunzdb this will solve your problem >_<

Never mind again found it. If anyone ever has a problem with downloading SQL server 2005 make sure your computer dosent already have like MSXML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 on it. If it dose go here http://kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?kbNumber=290301 and download that. Because for some reason you cant get rid of it using add or remove programs. Hope this help anyone if they get this problem, cause i cant be the only one to run into it.

@GrimHatter im gessing you updated the game...and not FILELIST.XML(yes its in system.mrs)
dont worry about Game login it wont effect any think at all

Thanks alot Max! Only problem i have left is that i cant see quest mobs... Can it be because i edited the channelrule? I seiously have no idea why all the quest mobs are invisible and they aren't attacking me... only way i can kill em is by randomly hitting thin air.

Are custom maps not able to be used in the result from this tutorial? because none of the custom maps from my old private server will work with this one :(
In fact it doesn't really seem to take edited clothes either. This client is very picky :( Well that was a waste of a day lol :P

to use custom maps place them in maps folder, if ya cant handle that then you have problems

I tried that but none of my custom maps or the ones I have downloaded will work when I do that. It just says "cannot create game" and when I edit an item of clothing and update the filelist it just closes the game when it says "loading mesh".

MAXTRAXv3, no i know that but when my friend tried to connect to the server (from internet) then he get error (cannot access), but from LAN i can conect...... i need that SERVER listen INET and LOCAL IPs, i change all Ips and the srver to 127.0.0.1 BUT whrn i change IP in mssql from 10.2.2.250 to 127.0.0.1 anybody can't connect, if i change to INET IP, from inet can connect but frome LAN can not connect...... if ip 10.2.2.250 then only from lan can connect....

@Loki17 only ppl from your LAn should be able to connect to your LAN, try giveing him your WAN ip to see the web page...

When I go to log into my GunZ Server, at the Server Select screen there are no servers.
I have configured everything correctly, and there has to be an error at some point, could you try and help the best you can?

Okay so I got my server to fully work, accept custom maps, accept edited clothes and all that.
Now I have a problem now that I am trying to let people outside my network join. I had the server running on my LAN IP until I could get my ports fowarded.
Now I have opened all the ports on the list, read over the tutorial 16 times to make sure there is no way I missed any WAN IPs or anything as such, made sure both the server AND client have been working etc. However neither me or the person outside the network were able to even see the server.
Now I have @SKIP_UPDATE in GunzLauncher.ini instead of the patch.xml and all that but I don't see how that would matter.
Please help me here or on MSN (chaos-bladezx@hotmail.com) and feel free to ask any information about how I have set up my files or post source etc etc.
EDIT: Should I be able to see the server if my client is set to the WAN IP or should ONLY my client have my LAN IP instead?
BTW I am using the Filelist skip launcher version so I haven't updated the filelists.
well first turn on your server and then go to canyouseeme.org from there enter the ports of the locator, matchagent and matchserver and check to see if the program can see you or not. If not then you did something wrong in your port-forwarding.
Okay I went to canyouseeme.org and tried all the ports from the locator, matchserver and matchagent and it could not see me on any of the ports whether the firewall was on or off. However I don't see how the port fowarding went wrong, I followed the port fowarding tutorial, entered all the ports on the list and then they were listed as open ports on the router.
EDIT: LOL! Didn't realise that the ports had been disabled when the attempt failed, I can see port 6000 now that it is back on, and most likely the others

...is the name of matchserver the same in server.ini and serverstatus, if not the DataBase will think its a diffrent server...
...also have you updated filelist?(ON this tut aswell)...
...have you got the ports opened(listed on this tut for a reson)...
