@sharpavery you didnt type 127.0.0.1 for the WAN ip, did ya? the ips cant be both the same one has to be a loop back ip(E.G. 127.0.0.1)
and the other your WAN or LAN IP

Your server can be hosted on Windows Vista without any problems what so ever.... I am running a Beta Phase server on my computer for past 2-3 weeks with 0 problems from any incoming connections. The patch continues to work, there is no lag caused by vista what so ever... It works the same, if not better.

I simply suggest you disable your UAC (User Account Control) setting on your computer..

Well I've gotten pretty far in making this damned thing. And now I've come across a problem. It has something to do with the Database >.>. The error reads this when i try and execute it.

But I have a small problem I did everything in this guide and put gunz server, and when everything is working now play each other in their quest for Serwi and always at some point be excluded gunz say that it disappears and everything is ok, no error pops up.
I do not know what it is.
I did everything from scratch but the same.

@sync667 try updateing the quest, if you have done this make sure you have updated filelist

@45533 when ya installed MSSQL2005 and you CLICKED MIXED MODE you enterd in a password
if not reinstall and try agen

You edited locator.ini wrong.
You need to have MatchServer up before running MatchAgent.
If you havn't done odbc, do it now.

To decompile .mrs's, their are many mrs decompilers/compilers.
Or, download mrs.exe & zlib.dll, create a text file, write this in their

Put 127.0.0.1 in system.xml, locator.ini, server.ini, agent.xml, & dbo.serverstatus.

To make updates working, grab a hex-editor, search for text string "http" without the " "
put http://127.0.0.1/gunzweb/GunzUpdate and find any other ip spots below the http, (should be like 2 ip spots) and put 127.0.0.1 in their.
Install wamp, go into C:\Wamp\www create a folder named Launcher, place the launcher files in their.
go back to the www folder, create a new folder named gunzweb
now create a folder named GunzUpdate inside the gunzweb folder.
place your client files in their, put zpatchbuilder in there, rename your theduel.exe to Gunz.exe, run zpatchbuilder, rename Gunz.exe back to theduel.exe, edit patch.xml
search for editing patch.xml (http://www.forum.ragezone.com/search.php)
test it.

all i will say is filelist

well i jst give it a try and got all the way up to the char selection without problems, but... i cannot create chars nor create them in any way becausl it will make my client crash.
im not sure whats wrong but i think i missed a step somewhere since it was a bit confusing :/

well copy the files (say if there from gunz/interface/default.mrs), you would make a new file...put the filelist generator in that one also put the new files(the ones you have updated or changed) then open the filelist generator then it will make a filelist.xml of the new items...
DONT PUT THIS ONE IN SYSTEM.MRS
right click on the filelist(GEN) (the GEN=filelist generator ver of file list) click open as or open with, then click on note pad, now open filelist in system.mrs fine the stuff from filelist (GEN) and copy the crc code to the filelist in system.mrs)

that realy did scare the shit outa me ...

hmm i got an problem i hope any1 know how to fix this well anyway here's my problem :
i changed the ip's in the system.mrs/system.xml after i unpacked it
so i changed the CRC to the CRC whats on filelist.xml
after that i repacked the system
i put it in my client folder , open gunzlauncher.exe it says starting game
but nothing happening
so i put the original system.mrs in the folder and move the editted system.mrs to another folder
so theres only 1 system.mrs ( the original ) and it starts fine but it just cant find any servers.
any1 know how to fix this?

I made all the steps, except editing the Agentserver.xml or something like that and when i try to start my server, it starts the match server, and when i try to run the launcher it runs but when i put start game it closes and dont run the game, i renamed the runnable to gunz.exe.

@killer656 locator status needs to be reset or the server wont work that's only for loactor program to fill-in

@shadow8994 im gessing you didnt texture it? you need it to have some texture on it to be able to see it in game

@ramiro000 you did 2 things wrong 1 you only ran matchserver(you NEED loactor as well since it tell the client there is a server)
and the other is that you renamed theduel.exe to gunz.exe you only need to do that for zpatcher
rename the gunz.exe to theduel.exe and the game will run

1) I think you're asking how you can have your cash items appear in the shop. If so, all you have to do is open your shop.xml from your matchserver, and add in all the item ids from the zitem. People have made programs to do this for you easily (use search button), or add it in yourself manually (look at the coding in the shop.xml, it's self-explanatory)

Now, copy your main directory of your Gunz folder for your private server, and paste them into gunzweb > GunzUpdate. Delete off files that you don't want to auto-update like Mlog, lastuser.dat, patch.xml, patchlog.

(If you changed the name of theduel.exe rename it to Gunz.exe if you want)

Run ZPatchBuilder! It should generate a patch.xml. After that place the Hole client (with the patch.xml) in this folder

Hi Im new here and i tried to setup the server on my pc and im connected to a LAN.
It works if i used the IP 127.0.0.1 but when i use my static IP
192.168.0.25
i cannot see the server... did i missed something in changing the IPs to setup the server?
I also found out that the problem is in the system.xml inside system.mrs, when i set it to local ip 127.0.0.1, i can see the server but when i change it to LAN IP, it doesnt show?

If I try to login, the game crashes. If I just press the login button, it crashes.

Dude in the client the duel.exe had full viruses and gunzlauncher.exe is full of viruses any idea where i can download 1 that has no virus in it?
