Re: MU2 Server Emulator - mu2core (.NET 4.0, c#)
About MuOnline emulators, I'm developing one. You could check it at https://code.google.com/p/emu/source/browse/
This is c++ based project, Open source, cross platform (Linux, Windows, Mac) with the high performance boost::asio network library (using IOCP for windows and e-pool for linux). By flexible (transactions-based) engine, it will be fully convertible between MuOnline and MuOnline2.
When project will be in more advanced state, I will create separated thread to track progress of developing.
Also, as you can see from sources, I'm developing test framework for this eMU. Everyone which knows something about unit tests, module tests and functional tests should understand. Quality of this project is the most important thing for me.
Project is in early develop state but I estimate that base functionalities (login, chat, viewport, monsters AI, PvM) should be ready till end of november.
Best Regards!

we researched the client and we understood that it is not worth to invest time in something like this ( so bad), so yes, I agree with you that the Mu2 will be complete failure.

The game is bad (about gameplay) or the architecture is bad (protocol, security and such)?
Re: MU2 Server Emulator - mu2core (.NET 4.0, c#)
Time to make this working is equal to time creating own game in such engines (Unreal in this case), also game is a copy of diablo3 and most likely it will never succeed. I have all function protocol names in my other pc, and if you compare them to actual MU server features then you will notice that there are very many missing things to even make this game fun to play instead of hack and slash all day long.
Re: MU2 Server Emulator - mu2core (.NET 4.0, c#)
that's because it is a testonly client, you can select draw mode, like wireframe, modify light shaders and even use any command to spawn mobs and npc, as well as change any feature inherited from unrealengine
so yes, making a working gs using just a buggy client, is like walking in the dark with no reference to look at.
but some day webzen is gonna open that server, and we well see how many people is online and how final client really works, so saying "this is shit" now, makes no sense.
and i agree, diablo 3 cannot be compared to mu2, at least not now, the way blizzard implements that game engine is the best i've seen so far
Re: MU2 Server Emulator - mu2core (.NET 4.0, c#)
test only? They created this client for 9 years. In this time they should have done atleast something unique or attention worth.. but what they did? Used unreal engine to create low quality game with bad models and textures and no gameplay, I have a feeling that this game was created by around 1-2 people freelancer. Because I don't see how millions of $ worth company can make this shit.
Re: MU2 Server Emulator - mu2core (.NET 4.0, c#)
I don't think that they develop this client and server for 9 years. Also Webzen first time officially say about Mu2 when MuX (Zen9) has become more popular after release video with BC music in background. Probably they still don't have any idea for new game and create this because of MuX.

lol
MU2 is in dev since 2003 / 2004. they stopped and continued many times since.
Zen9 ? you probably mean The9. the only reason they started developing MU-X is because they had some problems with webzen regarding the renewal of their MU license to run in china. So they just made improved 3D clone of MU named MU-X.
MU2 however, is completely different from original MU. Very small similarities like DarkLord character and few others (mobs etc).
Other then that, MU2 is completely new.
