Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
New member of the team, SQL expert and in charge of making new Database for VeMU a nice welcome to:
Code:
Wolf -> Alias the Chilean Guy (SQL Expert)
Country: Chile.
Nice to see some pal of my land here. ^^
And the next member is the official translator from old sintax files to VeMU sintax, a nice welcome and great helper:
Code:
DesmondMiles -> (Helper)
Country: I dont know for now.
Now i just want to end this IOCP bullshit and start doing some real deals, i got ReRe getting all the packets and later he will be un charge of EventItembag creation.
Ours coder Blustudio and Leo working on internal clients.

Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
any changes on memory usage?
Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
Ok thanks to mod or whoever that delete the "Big display of intelligence" of one of RZ forum members...
Back to project:
Code:
- VeMU load twice fast has before (thanks to some MASM32 helpers, great algorithms)
- DS is getting done by ReRe and his development is very fast
- VeMU IOCP and all connections ready
- Charlist packet is 90% documented and all previous packets are 100%
- JS is being supervised by Blustudio (coder) now.
And i will add into main post to any coder that wants to test performance agaisnt VeMU or anything releated to speed or challenge a direct link to MASM32 forum laboratory section.
It cant be and its 100% lame to come here to a "COMMUNITY GAME" to speak about algorithms of timming and other shits.
With time community will progress and will be enough matures to difference things.
For now on the thread wont accept any SPAM or any attempt to challenge the project itself, if you want to do so here is the link to do it:
Code:
http://www.masm32.com/board/index.php?board=4.0
But becarefull you arent speaking to gamers there, you speaking to people that study even in the MIT and to some microsoft workers.
Thanks and projects continue tomorrow caused today i have to work on my security system.
Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
No problem, Ill keep it clean as long as you keep up the good work.
Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
Ok good news to all the speed lovers.
I have spent some time and fighting alot for make VeMU runs in less than 100 milliseconds, i update all the algorithms for read files and inventory to mob system.
Also in the example shops are loaded with their full respective items, same Item.txt, MonsterSetBase, Monster.txt, Gates.
Also has been some improvement in the map loading system, nothing you guys would care to hear.
Finally optimisation too in memory usage, VeMU 0.0.6 now uses 21 MB of memory, thats kind of 4 times less firefox memory usage.
Anyway, the 21MB are caused structs are pretty big (and they need to cuased its a game).
NO GetTickCount NOOB TECHNIQUE:

THE TIME MEASSUREMENT IS DONE BY AN EXCELLENT MASM32 OFFICIAL CLOCK CYCLER / TIMER MACROS.
MY PC IS:
Code:
Pentium 4 core 2 duo
2.00 ghz
2.00 GB Ram
Intel chipset
PS: VeMU is loading too IOCP and all internal connections, also its INTERFACED, no DOS bullshit.
Download, test and post your results with your machine:
Code:
http://www.valkyrieproject.org/assets/Binarys.rar
IF YOU USING X64 OS DONT EXPECT LESS THAN 150 MILLISECONDS.
PS2: DO A FRESH REBOOT SO YOU CAN GET BETTER RESULTS.

Yes but windows 7 isnt the same has XP different OS usage...
XP is on my build, it doesnt matter the service pack by the way.
XP Pro + x32 + fresh boot.
Done test in windows 7, Vista and always delay more even if its x32.
On a windows 7 x64 with x32 emulation test and delay 324 milliseconds.
On a AMD i dont know how it will work.
Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
184ms on amd phenom 2 x4 3.64ghz and 4gbram ddr3 1066.(twice slower than intel o.0)
Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
Ok improved again just a few clocks and time for me now is:

DOWNLOAD HERE NEW SPEED TEST, MORE FAST THAN FLASH !:
Code:
http://www.valkyrieproject.org/assets/Binarys2.rar
Again the optimal test is a XP Pro x32 fresh boot.
Intel CISC.

Re: Valkyrie Project: VeMU
Windows Vista 32 1st binary the lowest 104 and for second binary 96
I didn't see any difference between fresh reboot and after one day no reboot

When i mean the fresh boot, its caused the process list you might using is eating too much resources.
Example here playing COD 2 and opening VeMU takes a little more than just dont playing it.
On a fresh boot + start its the max performance i can get.
Also there is a lot of difference between boot or dont boot, after 1 day the memory isnt flushed by itself, at least you force with some tool like memory flushers. All of this affect performance.
A fresh boot is a good way to keep your system in good conditions

Good tools...
