    Launching a second server

    Hi
    to answer to another thread, kiuubi and I decided to test to see if there was a possibility to launch another server.
    The answer is YES.







    First of all: make a copy of the PY_GameServer#1 folder and rename it PY_GameServer#2
    then modify the server.ini
    just change the port and the servergui
    PORT=20202
    SERVERGUID=20202
    These are our settings
    Save the ini
    then you have to rename the exe
    we have renamed gameserver_th_581.06.rel.exe to gameserver_th_581.05.rel.exe in the PY_Gameserver#2.
    Then add the shortcut to the list of the other shortcuts you have for launching the pangya server.
    Follow the same steps that you usually do for launching your server and then launch the new game server at the end.
    No need to start it. It launches automatically.

    Thats all.
    Now we will work to turn this one into a natural server.

    Hello,

    It is not hard, made a copy of the entire folder "PY_GameServer # 1 " and renames it "PY_GameServer # 2 ".
    Server.ini after editing, change the values "Server Guide" and "server port "
    "PORT = 20202"
    "ServerGuide = 20202"
    Finally in "PY_GameServer # 2" renames "gameserver_th_581.06.rel.exe" to "gameserver_th_581.05.rel.exe"

    And here is the second round and play server

    PS: Now you have to start the 6 msdos window and not 5
    1 authserver_th_578.01_rel.exe
    2 bindserver_th_546_rel.exe
    3 loginserver_th_578.01_rel.exe
    4 msgserver_th_546_rel.exe
    5 gameserver_th_581.06.rel.exe
    6 gameserver_th_581.05.rel.exe

    This now it remains to find how to start this server "Natural Serv" ;)

    It is not necessary to rename the...... gameserver_th_581.06.rel.exe to gameserver_th_581.05.rel.exe in the PY_Gameserver#2.

    It is only necessary to change the port and the ServerGuide

    are you sure you can launch 2 ms-dos windows with the same exe ?
    I'm at work atm, i'll try that tonight.

    the test on my private server so I do use 5 servers and never had a problem, just need to change the port and ServerGuide, as I had said. More is possible with some here that just might work the way you mentioned ... i just testing it.



    what matters is that they are in different folders ...

    I would change logfiles too, to avoid locking issues.

    It's good to know that it works ( i haven't been looking into it myself ).
    We can use this to do some cool stuff eventually.

    I will probably be using this on my live server somewhere in the future, when it will be an efficient thing to do.
    Offering multiple servers also means splitting up the playercount per server, so you would need a nice playerbase if using this on a live server.

    But I'll put my hands together for looking into it and confirming it works.
