infinity that looks like a database error. and udb is the database required to run mangos.
it is often hard to give straight up answers on mangos as the same error can occur for multiple things.
so far all of these errors i've been seeing recently have been udb related. i'll look into it for you guys.

About the Error u show on the image, wither your password or username to mysql is wrong. If u dont remember the pw and/or username try use the Mysql instance config wizard.

if its on your computer try changing the database realmlist to 127.0.0.1 just for a test.
that is generally an issue with something along the lines of that.
of course if you want others to connect you'll need to put in your external ip to it but that shouldnt be much of an issue.

I had the same problem but i figured out what was wrong when it saind the map 0004331 was outdated or incompatible, I tried using ascent before so instead of using the ad program for mangos i copied the map folder from ascent. The problem is that the maps are labeled differently so mangos does not recognize it.
I have a VERY SMALL PROBLEM! Everything seems to work...but when i press MANGOS.exe to load it. I get this at the end.

If it's SQLyog:
Open the login(OR New Connection) part of the SQLyog

I should have 141 entries and apparently I do not have it. However,when I load in the one that mangos have by default, the game runs fine. it's just that I cannot use UBC in order to take advantage of gears, npc, and etc. It would be helpful if you can tell me why. I'm running a 4874 Core.

and xsite. i've never set up mangos in linux. (even though i love linux) and i've never used anything past a basic spora for a website.

sinester that is a windows error. i've tested the extractor and it works as it should.
sometimes computer manufacturers modify their windows and they dont always contain everything they should. ex. my friend bought an emachine and it was missing cmd.exe
Alright I did everything you instructed, and I'm still running into errors. I'm using Mangos Rev. 5524 and UDB_0.9.2.
I'm getting "ERROR:Error in creature_template table, probably sql file format was updated (there should be 63 fields in sql)." when I start up realmd.bat
One thing I'll like to point out is, I'm able to view the server and successfully login. But whenever I try to join the realm server, I just go back to the realm selection screen (I'm guessing this is because of the error).

Disregard my last message, I was able to correct the problem by updating the sql files from "mangos/sql/update" folder. I ended up manually batching the database with the updates (which was a drag).
But everything works fine! :] I'm just flying around all over the server.. wickedly fun

Any assistance or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Directly above the aforementioned error, mangosd.exe reports that 'locales_creature', 'locales_gameobject', 'locales_item', 'locales_quest', 'locales_npctext' and 'locales_pagetext' are all empty. Could be related so I thought I should add that.

your error is linked to incompatible mangos version for you udb. check the rev number they recommend for udb 0.9.3 on their forums and use that version. same for you pirke
mangos has not come to be with the 2.4.1 generally what they do is work all the bugs out first unlike ascent that releases quickly with bugs.

Ah, thank you. I must admit, with this being my first foray into emulation, the version numbers were rather confusing and I took "5578+" a little too literally without realising 5629 was a much newer version. I shall try an earlier version, one released closer to UDB 0.9.3.

Hello,
Love the guide but this is the only error I have gotten. I can log on if I leave the ip addresses at 127.0.0.1, but once I place it as my external ip address it gives me this error everytime I try running Realmd.exe

@zizuph; You already said you didn't see a udb database. So you didn't skip the part where it says YOU HAVE TO use it! The mangos.sql file is not some kind of replacer for when you can't download the udb file... For 2.4.1 you need UDB 0.10.1.
And click the lowest download link.
@czeal; Make sure you change the IP row in the realmlist table in 'realmd' to your Wan IP
. Also make sure you erase the patchlist line (line 2) in realmlist.wtf in your WoW Client

Hey dude fantastic guide, one problem...... I dont know how to setup the client to connect to the server lol. Im new to private WOW servers, ive searched for how to setup a client to connect to a private server but I want to make sure that it will be compatible to this guide. Could somone give me a link to a setup guide for the client to connect to this type of server? Thanks.

sorry guys i couldn't reply to anything because my internet was out for about a week then i wasnt home but its all good cause i'm back.
now to help:
to configure the client simply edit the realmlist.wtf file in your wow folder to the ip of the server.
and as for the teleporter i am not exactly sure because i have not experimented with that part.

Ronyszkusz: your problem is that it cannot find the database mangos in your sql database. make sure that you named the database mangos when you uploaded it.
redeye: your problem is an incorrect version of dbc files with your mangos version.
example: your mangos rev will only work on a certain version of wow, if your server version doesn't match your client version then you would be taking outdated dbc files from the client.
When you go to the downloads for the mangos core folder, which revision is conpatible with a 2.0.12 client ? Because there are a hell of a lot in that list and I dont wanna download the wrong one.
sorry but i have no clue how far back you'd have to go for a 2.0.x server rev. if you could even find it at all.
ok cool. Well what client version do I need to connect to a mangos 5844 core version running UDB 9.0??? also, the client section of your guide only goes up to 2.1.3 so if I need anything later than that where can I get the patches? - BTW thanks for your help so far
