La Tale Private Server Files: Everything you need to know

Hi, this contains everything I have found from the internet and discovered as well and I am giving away this information for free as well as files. I started working on a private server named "GeoTale" or "Geo La Tale" in the beginning of June 2016, but do to time and stronger motives I am departing from this La Tale private server community. I also have grudge on the private server "Magic LaTale" by Zeref because they back stabbed me and stole my files in order to make theirs (Far after mine), but that shouldn't matter anymore because everything is here for everyone now and more :D

Requirements:
1. Windows 8.1 and below
2. Navicat or SSMS (SQL Server Managers)
3. Private Server Files
4. Any La Tale Client (!!!>Season 1<!!!)
My Client Collection: (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4)
5. DD or La Tale Extractor (Extracts .SPF files)
6. LDTEDIT2 (Edits .LDT files)
7. HxD (Hex Editor)
8. (Optional) La Tale Packer and Unpacker
(This was made by me and a friend of mine)
9. Activator App or Custom Tool (New)

#1 Setting up your Private Server:

chzxsrv.exe: Runs database and has a account creating tool.
Start Servers.bat: starts all servers necessary to host (Make sure paths are accurate)
GS1.exe: Hosts channel servers for normal world, Indun, and PvP
IPFiltering.ini: Mange the white/black list and who has ability to use cheats/commands
Latale_ODBC.ini: Server executables use this to access database.

Activating Server and Decryption passwords with App:

Go into app, select first option in it's options and copy the ID from server and put it in.

Changing Server Tool "chzxsrv.exe" 's default port:

Go to offset 00162070 and 001622D0 or find it by with the string "2533"

Modify LaTale Client resolution and UI:

Search LaTaleClient.exe for the similar offset or search for similar sequence of bytes. Light blue is width and dark blue is height. It is currently 800x600. Edit to your preferences, but the UI will not be adjusted.



To manually edit the UI, you need to extract the BARY.SPF and go into DATA\INTERFACE\UI\(Any .XML need editing).
For example, UNDER_MENU.XML: (I am not teaching everything here, but the red text shows the size of object. Should be self explanatory)

Hi, this might be a silly question, but I have the server set-up and running and I can't seem to figure out how to launch the client to start playing. I hope someone will be able to help me with this, thank you.

The LaTaleClient and LaTaleLauncher exe's don't seem to launch the game.

For all LaTale clients, you can run the executable with arguments from a .bat file. For example,

start LaTaleClient.exe /Run:VHIGH /Windowed /LS:(IP address):10000 /LOCALE:JAPAN /PUBLISHER:GAMEPOT

This will launch the client with high graphics, windowed mode, Server IP, JAPAN localization, and GAMEPOT publisher. These are the most compatible to launching the client. Although once doing this you will most likely experience the client, after loading, redirect to the website and close. To avoid this you will need the localize.ldt file to be changed. You can use FREE.SPF and put it in the location of all the other .SPF files. FREE.SPF contains the already modified localize.ldt file and overwrites the one located inside ROWID.SPF during load time. Now if for somereason you want to load season 2 or 3 clients you will need XignCode or GameGuard bypassers which I will not link directly but are contained in my collection of clients.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. It seems as though i ran into another issue. After launching the start server bat, the GS1.exe starts and I get a pop-up stating that "GS1.exe has stopped working" and closes. How would i go about solving this? Thank you very much for your help!

GS1.exe, as well as some of the other executables, run off resources. The resources they run off of are AJJIYA.SPF, JINSSAGA.SPF, and ROWID.SPF. Now these are not placed in the required location for GS1.exe to load so it crashes. Inside configure.ini (.\binn\configure.ini) you can change the "ResourceDir" to any location you like. To make it simple it is currently on (.\binn\resources\Packed\). If you go to that location, there will most likely be nothing there. Choose the .SPF files I stated above from any client you want and put it inside the "ResourceDir" location. Now I have an alternate folder named "Unpacked", if you want to run server off of unpacked resources. If you want to do that, you will need to have, instead of .SPF files, a "DATA" folder with all extracted contents in it located in the "Unpacked" folder. Now you can change the names of folder and everything to your liking, but make sure the configure.ini file matches them.

You sir may just be my savior. If I were just specifically looking to play La Tale as a "offline single player" game, what would I have to do to go about doing so (Assuming there would be no need to set up a p-server)? I imagine setting up through local host or something of the sort?

I have no experience in this department so any information on how to do so would be well appreciated.

When it comes to playing the game in single player, you will need to follow, just about, all the instructions. You would have the server hosted on the local host (127.0.0.1), but you will need private server files in order for it to record your info and other forms of data in the database. There is, however, a single player emulator called CHDEMU V2 , but does not have every function. Correct me if I am wrong. Also if you wanna play the game by yourself, I recommend learning how to edit the game so that you can make it more single player friendly due to many features requiring multiplayer.

First of all, thank you soooo much for making this post, I searched for years for something like this! I really appreciate it because I'm want to make a LatAm server (yes, i'm from Argentina, so excuse me if I don't speak english correctly)

but I'm having two problems:

I cant open the chzxsrv.exe file because this message pops up: "Your SQL Server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (SQL Registry Version Not Same As Server). Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem." (wich I tried but it didn't work)

and my other problem is while trying to open GS1. After loading map and battle system I get this:

So, for your first issue, chzxsrv.exe has the "Your SQL Server installation is either corrupt..." either if you have installed a version of MSSQL server on your computer, which can result in the default SQL Server being changed and so on, which is affecting chzxsrv.exe's modification to the registry, or you just need to start the file as Administrator. Those are what I have experienced.

Your second problem has only one possible problem from what I can see. The GLOBAL_SYS.LDT file you used is most likely from a La Tale client in which the file was rewritten in a different way where some integers are strings and other way around. If you want to use that version of the GLOBAL_SYS.LDT file, then you need to go into it with a HEX editor and modify it to look similar to another GLOBAL_SYS.LDT file that works correctly. You could just use a different version of the GLOBAL_SYS.LDT, but that all depends if the other LDT files are compatible with the other version.

From what I have experienced and others have as well, windows 10's registry and other security measures get in the way of chzxsrv.exe's modification to it allowing it to take control as the default SQL server. For some reason windows 10 gets in its way and causes it not to work. If you manage to get it working congrats but as far as I know it don't seem to work.

Mini server would work. I've seen these files work on windows server 2000 and stuff if the mini server runs that. Gotta be windows OS. Never actually tried mini server personally so I wouldn't be able to say for sure.

You cannot get a season 2 or 3 La Tale server working with these files. The files are programmed specifically for season 1. For example, shikeisama had an issue with GLOBAL_SYS.LDT. This file was written slightly different from the other season 1 GLOBAL_SYS.LDT files and because of that the server crashed. If you use season 2 or 3 files, the server files will not know how they are written or if any new features were added. You could however make, what I like to call, a pseudo season 2 private server by adding season 2 stuff with the same structure as the season 1 stuff, but problem with this is that many features will not be able to work because of the lack of knowledge these server files are programmed with. You will either need to program your own server files or reverse engineer the files and build from there. Both option will take a really long time.

This could be many reasons. First, if you plan to use Hamachi, I will not help you with that. I would recommend port forwarding. Make sure the Login Server, Lobby Server, and any other Game Server you wish to have active, are forwarded. Also make sure you have no anti virus, firewall, or any form of protection that is blocking others from connecting to you through the server. Make sure your friend connects to your public IP and, if you are having connecting issues, for you to connect with either 127.0.0.1 (localhost), local IP address, and, if all else fails, your public IP.

If you are having this issue after trying all these then this problem could be because of your router not being able to loop back to the local host. This specific problem is only a problem for you, the host, and if this happens then you will need to host the server on a separate computer.

Based on what you said, I am unsure if the problem is occurring to you or your friend so I cannot specify what the problem is. Also since I am not there to be able to see all your configurations and other settings, I can't conclude a single solution.
