I though it will be better using original engine for server, maybe for damage calculation, skill data, item data
with C++/CLI you can wrap c++ code into .NET domain, then consume it on Unity 3D, I already done Item editor on .NET ui with c++/CLI dll created from original RAN source
just saying, maybe can give some idea
