Basically you open : PS_GameData > CharItems.dbo

Best way is to query the character ID, can be found in CHAR.dbo
Find the item and if lets lets say a pair of noble boots, (1 socket/slot)

We are going to make some sonics(lvl2) for this example, in Gem1 you would put the number of the lapis (can be found above) 'Sonic Lapis Lv2' = 107

So quickly once more over we go: SQL Server > PS_GameData > CharItems.dbo and CHAR.dbo (Find the character, with CharID) Find the ITEM (Use the Type/TypeID to find) and in Gem1 put 107

I'm not sure if there is a linking hammer or something what gives you a deffinate link.. havn't found anything yet. With GM Links you can put any lapis in any item so you could put a goddess sword with 6 "Max Craft Lapis" in it..

TO EVERYONE:
I think we r going to hit a brick wall unless we:
a) Reverse Engineer the "ps_game.exe" and create our our Game Server executable. Disconnect created a packet sniffer prior to packets being encrypted. If we work out all the packet data, we can program our own "ps_game.exe". Then the Server software we use can be a little more legitimate. :P

b) The Original Poster of thread posts the new Ep4 Software. But somehow I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

I would like to gather a team of all the very experienced hackers to achieve these goals. Some of the private Servers have been keeping there info secret. I suggest to them this:

Let's all work TOGETHER until we can get the Server software fully compatible to Ep4. If we don't we will all remain in the shadow of the official versions, and we will only attract a few hardcore fans over to our Servers by luring them with insane XP and other bonuses.

I propose we create an IRC Channel so we can all discuss with each other our goals and objectives, and how we will go about this cumbersome task. Need I remind you all that you have to be experienced programmers if you aren't don't bother joining in the hopes that we will help you set-up your own Server because you will only slow us down and hinder our progress.

This is running on Win XP Pro SP3 with SQL Server 2000 SP4.

MMachor, it is not connecting to the Game Data Database. Check that you have run the linked Game Server query and you can connect fine. Also that the MS DTC Service is running.

db pass: sywballen? sywballen default pass. Replace the password and update.

Thanks for the help. I've not got the server up and running. Found it to be a combination of the password being stored wrong and also the local ip for the databases needed to be put to the PC Name.

it isnt the problem, when the error code is " 0" ( zero) then u need to type

/nprotectoff

but this error code is "120" and /nprotectoff dont fix it

Be careful everyone I have found in PS_GameData, the stored procedures (SP) uxp_BackupDIFF, uxp_BackupFull, and uxp_BackupLog, make a call to the SP uxp_Send_CDOSysMail which looks like they send an e-mail out to SonoV. I have commented out the stored procedures (after AS) and I suggest to be on the safe side you all do the same.

This files are old.

And, I work with Aeria Games staff, they will close down any private servers with the help of the FBI.

Ok, I have a working server, but when anyone on the outside tries to login they get the login, select server, and then disconnected. I have users on my inside network that can connect fine. The server is sitting on a DMZ so it isn't port forwarding. I've ran NirSoft CPorts and they are getting to port 80300, but don't seem to get moved over to port 80310. Any ideas?

one thing i have noticed it that the game.exe does a check with one of the first IP's in the second list of IP's in the client, if this IP is changed the game client will not run, and it cannot be changed to private server IP

this must be fixed to cut all ties with the original shaiya servers

I don't think that's true.

The reason I think this is because the copy has been leaked and is now wide-spread. The FBI is under-resourced to tackle digital crime, and if it were the case they would instead rely on scare tactics so people didn't distribute it. For instance replacing closed pServer's with copyright/patent infringement notices. I have seen several hacks go up, and Aeria has a hard enough time getting it taken down from free file hosts.
If you could show us some proof of your allegations I may be more inclined to believe you...

What client do u use? I use a US client and it does nothing of the sort, I checked the packets then. Mayb u haven't modified it properly...

This check was originally in Malay client both original full client and also with latest update patches, i havn't checked if it exists in the US client as yet but am using US client currently

Undoubtedly Aeria or SonoV checks this section (snitches) so I'm just going to throw this out:

Firstly I am not aware of how much this original code and design is alike to the production server. I have noticed that there are several improvement and optimisations that could be done to the Database Tables and the Stored Procedures. What I propose is that SonoV releases the Ep3 code under a restricted open source license and we in turn will contribute back with our improvements, which then can be implemented on the production Servers for Ep4, it's just a thought.

Rather than seeing us as the bad guys, why not turn this situation into an advantage that everyone can benefit from? We get non-profit private Servers (I'm sure you can find a software license to cater for this), and you get free development and testing.

I dont think that...the FBI is only for the US..and most P-Servers are outside the US....so they must work with Interpol or the Police that is in that country in there the P-Servers are.... only thing that they (Aeria and Sonov) realy can do is get our IPs, ban them or delete our accounts.... and i think they have enough probs with cheats/hacks...

and there are alot other games P-servers out like Ragnarok, Dekaron...etc and they didnt can manage to close all P-Servers for this games...maybe some but not all^^

as long as we didnt get the actual Episode (EP4) to run as a P-Server we should be fine, cause like u said:" these files are old" and i dont think they will do so much action for "old files".. and i for myself wouldnt run a EP4 Server, cause i dont like the EP4 crap..it suxx :thumbdown:

Can you teach me how to fix skill proc, cuz when i use EP4 client, i can apply skills in game but everytime i relog the character, almost skills i applied change to "brand-new", i apply that skill again but cannot.

plemaster checked that the Items are also in the PS_GameDefs.dbo.Items table with the same ItemID and stats? If not you need to import the Item.SData file too.

Try putting in the name of your computer. I had to do that instead of using 127.0.0.1 as well. Had the same error come up. You can find the computer name by right clicking on My Computer and looking at properties. Check the Computer Name tab and enter the Full computer name. I fixed mine that way.
