Well see this is the problem, I put the 1020 client files into a fresh 1010 installation it would just show "ROW client error" after hitting the server name. So I thought it was just the 1010 client, so I tried the 1036. When I did that with a fresh 1036 installation it would show a black screen for a few minutes like if it was trying to connect and then it would show "ROW client error"

Second, the ips are set to 127.0.0.1 (local) , using sql 2008

install 1010 or 1036 and add my client test patch on it and then try...i tested my patch before with both client installers so it replaces all necessary files...my test patch was using 1022 but you can throw there older client and scripts if you want use 1020

i dont remember if 1020 had different gcmds key to 1022 but in that case just delete all mobs from character/data and copy older ones there because if there is any mob with wrong key in that folder, you get row client error at client start...even if mob is not used in your scripts you still get row client error if there is mob files with wrong keys located on your data folder.

1) I installed a fresh v1010 and then i just copied and paste the v1020 client files over without touching any of the gcmds, chrevent, and language folder. ROW Client error
2) I installed a fresh v1010 and then copied and paste the FullClientPatch that he posted without copying the subfolders (char,texture,etc) and ROW Client error

I tried both.

the client versions on your website, the download link is not valid, after you wait for the timer to drop down, it says "The link to this file is not valid"

i fixed some files now and updated filelist.

Also morbid was lettin me share his modified dbagent for row so its included on server files package now. It fixes zone 16 problem that occurs with normal dbagent.

I also added rylcoder with row 1020+ keys but didnt include gsfstruct file on it but you can use your own ryl2 structures.

i get same problem with xChroniCxLinKx. which is ROWclient error.

on my RYLServerController Info, the Login is red = Closed.

in DBAgent Server config,
Version = 1022
Check Sum = 0x00000001 ?
Correct?

you 2 doing something wrong then...others have gotten it work...its not server problem, its client problem.
as i told try ful client test patch first and then start to customize your own versions

i have tried this server and client patch when i made it to virtual machine and it worked in first try...if server is running all green its ok then...row client error is caused by client and you have most likely there wrong key script or mob files somewhere.
install 1010 or 1036 and delete all files from "character\data" but leave subfolders there, delete all files from your game root folder, delete your language folder....then extract full test patch and im sure there wouldnt be anything anymore to cause client error.

im quite sure you could log in with fresh 1010 install but i havent personally tested that...i tested versions 1020-1024 that work with server.

I' just did everything you said exactly,
now it gets farther into the game,
it actually starts my client, and then starts gameguard, then going into the game, then before the login screen, it goes to a straight black screen, and then ROW CLIENT ERRORS.

i tested it myself now...i ran working row server in virtual pc and installed client v1036 and extracted full client test patch over it and edited login.new to connect my server wan ip instead of 127.0.0.1...thats all i did to client.

first try auth lost so i changed some local ips from server to wan ips...and 2nd try get me to create character and then connection to gameserver lost...changed more ips to wan and 3rd try get me in without any errors...only tried human side so atleast it works well.

i ran server in win2003sp2 enterprise with mssql2008 express
i ran client in win xp pro sp2

sorry because of me. it working now. what i do is :
delete character folder and replace with Alpha's full client.

but i cannot login. it say, UserID/Password incorrect. :)
maybe it cause in Auth Server setting?
I get the error while using GamaAuth, HangameAuth, JapanAuth.
If i choose Youxiland, it will not appear anything only static.

if you had stated that in first place then we had avoided this time wasting discussion.
solution is simple....gcmds key has changed between 1020 and 1022

i even added ROW1020ClientPatch.zip on files so now you can just apply it to play 1020 version...you need to remove all files from char\data before you apply it so it doesnt leave there extra mobs with different keys that was made to 1022.

if you want easier client version switching, you can use unpacked 1020 client.exe and modify it to use 1022+ version gcmds keys so you can hop between versions just by changing client.exe...for that you need to know 1020 gcmds key which you will find from this forum as well.
