[Sharing] A way to host your own nProtect

First of all, get any webserver running.
Most of you probably got AppServ running for the Registration Page.

Download and unzip the file below into the WWW folder of your webserver (http root)
http://stealthy-has-root.com/rylserver/nProtect.rar

That will give you the following maps

www\nProtect\GameGuard\RealServer

Now we need to tell the client that he has to download the files from your IP/server instead of the real server.
Open %windir%\System32\Drivers\etc\HOSTS in Notepad.
Add this line to the bottom of the file:

127.0.0.1 nprotect.ryl.com.my

Of course you can replease 127.0.0.1 with any IP you want as long as there is a webserver running on that IP hosting the nProtect files.

For example, if you are running a server and you want other people from outside your LAN download the files from your server.
They have to add (assuming that the server IP is 85.146.61.111):

85.146.61.111 nprotect.ryl.com.my

Well, why would you host your own RYL1 server and make the clients update nProtect from nprotect.ryl.com.my if you can host your own nProtect server files?

Maybe soon PWG or CiB or whoever finds a way so we cant use the official nProtect servers anymore... This is the fix :)

Or like yesterday, the Malay. nProtect server whas down and nobody could play.

It's just nice to know YOUR the HOST whatever happens!

Oh and how about all those cheaters.. They can host the old nProtect files and use Multihit again (woops, thank god i didnt unclude the old files... :angel_hyp :clown2:)

is that www is the root directoty, if i want to combine it with RYL webpage, i just need to copy the nprotect folder into the web folder that RYL web using?

It doest still work, only on RYL2 client version 1700++ they make it impossible to change the HOSTS file, but even then you can make a Loopback device and assign it with the nprotect server IP

But.. when the hackers made a new cheat, this files will cant stop them. Thats the nice part of have the real GameGuard files from ryl.com.my coz they always update it.
