Are you referring to blocking the creation of certain jobs?
the if statement of each job, instead of it going to be created block them from it
Some 1 showed me chainging the creation numbers in login info handler, Is there a better way to do this? Possibly so it pops up a message in reply?
How about you ban anyone who creates the character that you don't want to be created?
Why would i ban people for doing something like that. That just seems more harm than good. The reason i want to disable certain jobs, is i am tweaking them to be more in balance with the others ( alibeit, 1 is just buggy, but the rest i just wanna balance so people feel more open to all classes).
So what you're trying to accomplish is to disable jobs for a certain amount of time until they're not o/p?
Basicaly.
my last resort if just make explorer only and put in an advancer, but ide rather avoid that>
some 1 told me to change the creation number in login handler, which prevents creation which is decent enough.
anyway to disable it with a pop up message? Or block out the button ( the creation screen) - like make phantom greyed out, or KoC greyed out?
Not sure how you would make it greyed out, or even make it return a message when the player tries to select it...
Oh! But here's another alternative: Avoid the blocks to each character, and just change the starting map of each character you want to block to a small map of your choice, preferably one with no portals (so the player can't get in or out). If you can't find a map with no portals, just disable the portal(s) within your WZ files for the map (this isn't WZ editing, I'm talking about the .XMLs)
Then just slap up a NPC that says the character isn't accepted at this time. So they'll be jailed in that one map with nothing to do except chat with other players who tried creating the character, and a lonely NPC :(
ide rather just prevent the creation at all , other than make them waste time on the character.
It is a decent suggestion, but thanks for the contribution.
(i thought extalia and arcane had a message response for the evan ordeal until they where released)>
For now ive just blocked the handlers on the creation. They can choose how it looks and all, but it wont get past the character look screen. (wont create at all).
Anyone who can't accomplish their primary goal would gladly execute a secondary goal that still takes care of the issue. Guy doesn't want characters to be created, yet the player will inform him/herself that they'll be sitting in a room if they don't create another character.
Still takes care of the problem, although simply disabling the handler does the same exact thing. To me, it's a matter of creativity, and quite frankly, I can't seem to locate any fuck(s) to give as to "Why the heck would anyone do that?"
