Making a server, need help! :)

Hey guys, the last time I made a server was a few years ago, so I'm asking for help :D
If someone can teamviewer me or something and help me put the server on that would be awesome, I can give that someone a GM on my server in return (Just a way to give back, don't want to feel like I'm 'buying' help though)

EDIT: The problem is now that whenever I open the bat files I get loads of error messages.

why would they want to be a GM if they can just open their own server and be the owner o.o?

try your best to read the .bat errors or post a screenshot of them. they should be really straightforward. or you can even google the errors since I'm almost positive that someone else has had the issue before.
some things to check:
- make sure you have java files placed in the right locations
- you changed the server's ip to your own (localhost/vps/whatever)
- you have your database up

As I said the GM is just to give back and optional to the person helping,

BTW the java files, was I suppose to extract them from .rar?
Also how can I take a screen shot of the error if it is longer then my screen? Thanks

Yeah, keeping them in the .rar file won't allow them to do anything. Since I'm assuming you didn't place Java files correctly, look up a tutorial (there are literally dozens) on how to correctly place Java files for MapleStory servers.

When you think you've done it correctly, download Xerxie's troubleshooter and run it to double check!!

When I ran the program you told me about it says Existence of compiled server files in extension folder : No.what does that mean?
At first when replacing the java files I left them in the rar file but now I extracted and then replaced still have an error on the bat it says :

your passwords don't match. make sure the db.properties password and the password you set for mysql are the same.
