Possible to run v117.2 on Win8?

So... I tried to run maplestory after getting my new laptop. And I find out that it's not normally compatible with windows 8... So I did some research and found out that you need a new maplestory.exe so I downloaded it, and now instead of the themida error I get nothing. I just see the damage cap client thingy then nothing... -_-

So what now?
