Problem when i'm trying to open v.83 server

Here is what happens when i press on my cleint. Its goes all black and come back to give me that error

It's a glitch with Windows 8 and 8.1 on lower versions sadly.. I've been trying to figure out workarounds myself. Currently I've found that programs using ports will cause this (so try closing things like Skype, or Chrome, etc). You can also try things like changing compatibility to XP and marking "Read-Only" on the client.

What sucks is to have full Windows 8 and 8.1 compatibility, you'll have to have a v140+ server..

make a shortcut of it to your desktop. right click it and go to properties, set to compatibility mode. w7 is fine. also check the start as admin box.
then just spam it untill it works. also make sure all your applications are closed like browser, skype closed etc.. if it won't work, start your browser and try again, close it, try again. after a while it always works for me. also heard from alot of other people that it works.

You just have to start MapleStory once. If you get the error, delete several nonsense processes from your task manager. Try again, it should work now.
