Server is a mess, Need help setting up a vps!

Hello people me and my friends decided that we would like to make a private server for v83 since it was our favorite version but so far with no prevail we havent got anywhere.
without the vps we could connect fine with hamachi and play do whatever but when we started setting it up on the vps it kinda worked we get no errors but when we start the client it won't do anything literally it has no error no connection or anything.
please we need help and fast our vps is mechahost or somewhere around that
we have teamviewer skype and we will do anything to get it running.
Please this was our last resort of getting it to work, we spent 35$ on this vps please help.

Usually for VPS there isn't a need to port forward.

If you did everything right, did you install the correct java unlimited encrytion VERSION for the java development kit you installed?

Make sure everything is completed correctly. Double check your files, constants and so on. Also use Stredit to edit your client and force it to use one ip. If all else fails, ill get it up and running for you if you wish. Pm me and I will share my Skype if needed.

If he didnt it would show the firewall error/cant connect to server.

Yes you do. Its not automatically opened. If it was that would be super insecure for the future.
