there are 2 databases required a gameserver db and a loginserver db. You can name them as you wish as long as you also modify their names in the config files, right at the start, where it says "database.url = jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/NAME_OF_DB?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8".(for loginserver config use loginserver db name and for gameserver config use gameserver's db name)
Regarding the loginserver db - gameservers, you type there :
id -> id of the gameserver (this gives the name of the server, Siel...so on. I think you can change the names of the gameservers but sadly i don't know how yet)
mask -> usually this is 127.0.0.1 except when you host the gameserver on different computer, in that case it's the gameserver's ip
password -> here you type same password you assigned to gameserver in the config files

I managed to fix my authentication problem and from what I can figure out I think it may be a problem with the AionStart.bat file I created (even though as far as I know I created it exactly how Thanatus' guide suggested).

The reason I think it must be that is because I downloaded an "Aion Private Server Launcher (No-IP) EN" from demonoid. This one to be precise: http://www.demonoid.me/files/details/2171781/775222/

Anyway as far as my noobish understanding goes, this basically is a fancier way of doing what the .bat file should do. I left the settings at default and just put the launcher and no-ip config file in my main installation of Aion, loaded up through the launcher, logged in as admin and it connected straight away. The server list showed one server called '[WEST] Siel' so I selected it and it went straight through to character creation.

Why the .bat didn't work I don't know, but hopefully some others with the authentication problem can try this method and see if it works for them.

Anyway like I said, thanks for the help, no way I could've got this up and running without it. The guide is great Thanatus, just that one little step that confused me a bit, the rest is awesome :thumbup:

I'm off for an all-night Aion session anyway so I'll check back in here tomorrow. Thanks again :w00t:

That's actually just a generic failure message. We would need to see the entire output to figure out what happened.

I would like to know where, if it possible, can we change global caracters statistics or items value or whatever (I notice that they haven't database for it) ?
For health and mana, they have a table about it, but I notice that, when I login, it doesn't take care about what I've write on the DB.
Can we also change the fact that we have to be in group to access instances ?

All characters statistics and items values are stored in server and client to. So to change need to decrypt the game files and change the values, same with server files. Thank you to for watching us.

Ok here is my problem when I start the game server it runs through checking Java but fails to reserve enough space for the object heap and create the java virtual machine I remember this from the older engine but can't remember how to fix it I currently have 3 gig for VM.

I think from your description that I had the same problem as you're having mvalkar.

Go into your gameserver folder, find startGame.bat and open it with Notepad++ or something similar. Search for xmx and you should find -Xmx1536m somewhere in there. Change that to -Xmx1024m and save, then try loading the game server and login server back up again. Should work after that. Hope it helps, let us know how you get on.

Sorry about the late response, I had crazy work to be done and couldn't find a sec to check the forums. I noticed you already figured out a way to solve your problem; in my case it was actually the clients fault.

Since i installed the server for the first time after ncsoft updated Aion to the 2nd part of the 2.1 patch (aka 2.1.0.7) i didn't know if that client version would work with the server, so i ended downloading a version from torrents that turned out not to work for me at all. Actually the 2.1.0.7 client works just fine replacing the bin folder with the one in the download links.

To make my server "public" i just had to edit ipconfig.xml file in the gameserver folder and change my ip from 127.0.0.1 to my external ip. That allowed all my friends to log in just fine (also had to forward some ports in my router).

burst84: It is working so far thanks now I have to configure it for local net work I know I have to set the aengine_ls server I had to add the line with IP 127.0.0.1 and need to change it to my boxes IP address but when I do this I loose login server connection when I restart it all.I did edit the gameserver\config\ipconfig file with my IP address as well.

I figured it out yes Thanatus you may want to rethink the whole .bat thing and just direct people to the No-IP launcher because that is what got me up and running thanks to all for the help. the daughter child is happy and we can go and kill things togeather now.

How to fix the bug that the character appears to be accelerated? Sorry for bad English.
