really appreciate that man, because lot of people have the 3.9 aion emu and are using window 8...hope the senior members who are working on 3.9 emu would reupload it ...

When I attempt to join the game server the client hangs on the server select screen. The background continues to run normally but I never get the character creation screen. Has anyone else encountered this? Game and log on server run without any errors.

Not a problem that I have encountered. My only suggestion would be to check all the port/IP settings.

Works perfect for me, but there are still many quests not working ('load fail'), is going to be someday a fix for them or this project is abandoned?

em, portable java - simple, if it's inside already then probably already set up =)
if not - usually is used by typing java home var in bat file
example:
SET PATH=..\ALR-Jdk\bin
mean that system var PATH is set to this way: one folder back from target place(..), then folder ALR-Jdk(\ALR-Jdk),then folder bin(\bin)
so, app that will be started with that bat file will use variable PATH = ..\ALR-Jdk\bin
=) somehow in this way, don't know how to explane more easy =)

download a normal compile,start to read guides how to install and setup aion server - and don't f... brain to other
chat server - not running because it's not config in normal way, and if you will be smarter - then will just turn off CS connect in GS settings(because it's not so important for privat servers)

specially for you:
open=>\gameserver\config\main\gameserver.properties
find=>
# Enable connection with CS (ChatServer)
# Default: false
gameserver.chatserver.enable = true

change it to=>gameserver.chatserver.enable = false

GS will not try to connect to CS
for 1 player server - not so important is chat server online or not
if will be needed - change setting back to true, and finally set normal settings to LS+GS+CS it will take 1-10 min depend on exp
even for 1 time setting for novice - on youtube can find video guides how to set up aion server
on forum can find guides, but no - almost each day +1 who can't set up server - and making +1 thread - how to?i have error
