Aion server which os?

Hello, I've googled quite a bit but I haven't find what OS people would run their Aion server on? I would go for a windows server 2016 since I like windows over Linux. My other options would be Debian or ubuntu if I have to go for a linux distribution but even so I would have to go for Debian 7 for example to have java jdk 7.
I would appreciate your oppinion about running a server (5.8 emulator) on a windows server?

As the server emulator is written in Java with no GUI except a console messages. You can run on either Windows or Linux. I mostly use Windows (works fine in Windows server 2008+ and Windows 7+).
